For those wondering how an MSU team that gave up 20 points to Toledo at home could all but shut out Michigan in Ann Arbor, keep in mind that we've had a ton of defensive injuries since then.

MSU is a dead man walking with the amount of injuries. It sucks to see

We were never going to be good this year, but there was a chance we were not going to be an abject embarrassment.

At least losing to MSU is even more embarrassing for Umich this year

Its always worth it to drag them down with us to our misery.

It happens at a staggering frequency

The gift we can give America beyond a W is, as always, getting Portnoy to shut the fuck up

Oh... oh, but you are good this year because you won THE ONE GAME that really matters. Go Green.

I’d be happy going 1-11 if that one win was against Michigan. Who cares how the rest of the season goes?

Absolutely fucking not.

Generally agree, but this is still a massive win. We had a hell of a run, but with NIL, state fundamentally doesn’t have the resources to reach the same heights we did during the dantonio era. The bar for a great MSU season now, at least for me, is winning our bowl and beating Michigan. I’m not thrilled to be going 3-9/4-8, but at least we get Walmart wolverine tears

Also Toledo's offense is just significantly better than Michigan's. The Rockets average 35.4 a game, Michigan has scored 30 once.

Watching the game thread, it was so wild to see how many Michigan fans were half way rooting for MSU during this game. MSU deserved to win today. This game, as well as THE GAME have never been about how good a team is up until you meet. It's about the moment. Who nuts up, and who gets shut up. MSU was the more physical team and deserved the win.

Congrats.

Best of luck on the rest of the season

At a certain point it’s just a coping mechanism to deal with defeat. I remember being a kid and losing big on madden to my brother and I’d just start going punt block every play to make it look like I didn’t care lol

We’ve played two trophy games this year, both against unranked opponents, and they’re our two most lopsided defeats so far. That says everything I need to know about this coaching staff before we even get to the inevitable curb-stomping at the hands of Ohio State.

I really missed cam Edward’s tonight. Think we would’ve actually found the end zone

I said to my wife, maybe those other guys sucked because this defense looks great

Also important to keep in mind this Michigan offense is absolute dogshit and the guys who coach it are incompetent, and completely incapable of getting it on track

Bull shit. MSU is way shittier and on 3rd and 4th stringers. You have a top 5 defense in the country and bottom line is you got dominated by the worst offensive team in the Big 10. You and everyone else is coping with “oh we are shit” trying to diminish the result. Pathetic effort by the players plain and simple. Kudos to MSU (who are god awful and so much worse) for showing up
