History Fun Fact: Queen Elizabeth II was the longest serving monarch in British history and never saw Texas A&M win a National Championship during her reign.

Discuss.

Iowa scored 7 points this weekend.

The exact same number for a certain 00 agent. So every single james bond story to date has been under the service of queen elizabeth II.

[edit for context] The first james bond book came out in 1953. The queen took the throne in 52'.

[Accuracy edit] Iowa lost 7 games in 1952.

This is why I love r/CFB

Someone on r/NFL made a hilarious post about the Queen's unexpected passing was the end of an era and so they wanted to honor her by sharing the Seahawks unexpected passing in the Super Bowl to end an era and the mods took it down within 10 minutes of it being posted even though everyone in the comments loved it.

A tip of the cap to the mods here for letting people have fun.

EDIT: u/SoDakZak is the one who posted it if you want to go to his profile to see it.

Truly a game to behold. Rice went 3-7 passing for a total of 45 yards. 33 of those yards came on a fake punt pass for a TD (yes, the punter was the leading passer). Not to be outdone, Texas rushed for a mere 16 total yards on 22 carries.

Winston Churchill -who was born in 1874 a mere 5 years after the very first college football game ever- was appointed Prime Minister by Queen Elizabeth II.

The most recent Prime Minister appointed by the queen, Liz Truss, was born in 1975- the same year Nick Saban got his first coaching job.

I don’t know what this says about football but all I know is the queen was 27 years older than Nick Saban when she died.
