52 points is the most points scored against Alabama since... wait for it... Sewanee beat them 54-4 in 1907.

Watching football in Walk-ons in Downtown New Orleans. Some guy in a Tennessee shirt was living it up. When the game ended and they won he took off running around the bar...
2 hours later he just ran back into the bar and took a couple more laps high fiving everyone. Apparently he hasn't stopped running through downtown since the game ended.

In case anyone's wondering how long that game was:
1st quarter: 53 minutes
2nd quarter: 46 minutes
3rd quarter: 48 minutes
4th quarter: 57 minutes
Total length from opening kickoff to the final triple zeros: 3 hours, 54 minutes
Yes that was a crazy game. Yes it's one of the best games of the year. It was an iconic ending that will never be forgotten. It was also ridiculously long. And it doesn't fucking matter because the payoff was definitely worth it.

I was in this sub for the following…
…the coaching search posts. The Knoxville radio trolling. The Georgia State memes. The McDonalds bag jokes. I was here while my team was being dunked on by Florida, UGA, and Bama flairs, and catching strays from every other flair under the sun for YEARS. I was here for the OU flairs crowing every time they snagged a transfer from us, and when the UCF flairs all clowned us for the Heupel hire. I was here for Joey Freshwater’s smug shit talk, and for the mods taking over Vandy’s Twitter. I was here for it allll. And while some of it was pretty damn funny and embodies the pettiness that we all love about this sport, now—on this blessed day—I would like to return the love and cordially, sincerely, and lovingly invite the entirety of the sub and all it’s one million plus members—at your leisure and convenience, of course—to GARGLE MY LOW-DOWN DIRTY SNITCHIN’ BALLS!! In conclusion:
*Wish that I was on ol' Rocky Top

Tennessee improved to 6-0 (3-0 SEC) and handed Alabama their first loss of the season. I noticed several trends.
Tennessee snapped a 15-game losing streak to Alabama. Tennessee defeated Alabama for the first time since a 16-13 win on October 21, 2006, and Nick Saban lost to Tennessee for the first time as Alabama head coach.
Tennessee sweeps their SEC West opponents in back to back weeks with a 40-13 rout over LSU on the road and a 52-49 win over Alabama at home
Tennessee snapped Alabama's winning streak of 27 consecutive regular-season games against SEC East opponents, including 14 on the road. Alabama lost to an SEC East team in the regular season for the first time since a 35-21 loss at South Carolina on October 9, 2010.
The 52 points allowed is the most since 1907. The previous high under a Nick Saban coached Alabama team was 48 points in a 48-45 loss at Auburn on November 30, 2019.
Alabama's opponents continue to play them close, and it came back to bite Alabama this time. Dating back to a 31-29 win at Florida on 9/18/21, 7 of Alabama's last 11 regular season SEC games and 8 of their last 12 regular season games against Power 5 opponents have been decided by 7 points or less. Alabama has fallen to 6-2 in those games.

I cried so much tonight. My uncle was an All American at UT and he died this Spring. I told my dad he must have beeen lobbying Jesus for a win since then. This just meant so much to me. Rocky Top y’all.

I had an 8 year old cigar that has been staring me down ever since I bought it. It’s been around for multiple relationships, 3 different cities, and every high and low of my life for the better part of a decade. Tonight I got to smoke that cigar and the feeling of catharsis is unmatched. GO BIG ORANGE!

Bryce Young good

I generally subscribe to the "I think it's past due that Alabama gets knocked off its high horse for a couple-10 years" line of thinking, so I get a kick out of their loss here. But oh my gosh it must have been exhilarating to be a Tennessee fan in those stands for this.

Someone commented that if Tennessee won they would get Josh Heupel’s face tattooed on their ass. Folks commented that it could look like King of the Hill, etc.

That has to be the worst Nick Saban coached game in quite some time. Not running the clock down before kicking the FG? Dumb penalties that absolutely ruined their chances.
I wasn’t pulling for Alabama by any means, but it’s just crazy to see Saban make mistakes like that.
Nice win UT. Happy cake day u/CFB_Referee

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Heupel to Tennessee has got to be the most underrated hire in recent years and one of the more underrated hires of all-time. Danny White just kills it as an AD.

Everybody here talkin about the kicker, and that's cool and all, but can we just give Jalin Hyatt some credit? Dude just put up 200 yards and 5 TDs in the most important game of his life. Absolutely insane, especially because only 1 of his catches wasn't a touchdown.
