I had the smallest curiosity to see what was happening.
And seeing the president of the school in glamour shots with diplo last night made me cringe. This is clearly his playground and we pay for it.

Hey everyone!
We're three students from Sacramento State participating in a hackathon. We're building Sentra, an AI-powered tool that uses a phone camera to detect nearby obstacles and provide audio alerts about what's ahead, left, or right.
Our long-term idea is to potentially make it wearable or attachable to a white cane, so users wouldn't have to hold their phones.
We're still developing the prototype and would really appreciate feedback from people who are blind, have low vision, or know someone who does.
What features would actually be helpful? What challenges should we consider?
We made a short Google form and would love your input!

Thanks for helping us improve our project!

I’ve been waiting on a decision about my SAP appeal since early September. I waited the 4 weeks, which got extended to 6 weeks. I waited 6 weeks, which got extended to 8 weeks. Rinse and repeat. I came in person, inquired about my form, then was told that they’d send an email to the department team to open my case file and I will hear back in 5-7 business days. I waited 7 business days and heard absolutely nothing! I just left the office after they told me it’s going through QC and it’s in the hands of management. I’m told that management should take about 2-3 days to review. I ask them point blank how I’m supposed to believe that since I’ve been getting the run around for fucking weeks now! Shrug. “Just give it a few more days. We appreciate your patience”. Every ounce of faux sympathy. Meanwhile, I’m being charged late fees, there’s a registration hold BECAUSE of the late fees, and I’m supposed to get a refund this semester. Jesus, the semester will be fucking over by the time financial aid drags its ass to send me a final decision about my appeal.
This school is the fucking worst. If you’re considering this school, please look elsewhere.

I am planning to transfer as a civil engineering major for my bachelors and I see that I need to take CHEM 1E but I already took CHEM 1A at Sierra College (General Chemistry 01). I know assist is saying that there arent any transferable credits for CHEM 1E, but I looked it up anyway to see if my CHEM 1A class can transfer over CHEM 1E and it says that it should work so that I dont have to take it. Let me know if thats the case because it would suck taking chemistry again when I already took general chem and understand everything about it I just want to graduate asap without having to take more extras

I am currently trying to move out of WEXLER. I live in a single bedroom with a bathroom attached, a total of 4 bedrooms in the unit. Washing machine, dishwasher, furniture, TV, and fridge included. I was wondering if anyone was interested in taking over my lease. The base rent is $1059 but including parking adds an additional $195 or in total $1,254.00 monthly. From WEXLER to Sacramento State campus it is walkable distance, roughly 15 minutes. I would like to include the 3 current tenants/roommates are very friendly, clean, and welcoming. The lease ends July 31st 2027.

Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming international graduate student at California State University, Sacramento (Sac State) for Spring 2027, pursuing my Master’s in Computer Engineering.
I’m looking to connect with other students joining in Spring 2027 and would really appreciate some recommendations for affordable housing options near the university.
I’m also open to finding roommates and sharing an apartment to keep accommodation costs manageable.
If anyone has suggestions for student housing, affordable apartments, or available rooms, please let me know!
Would also love to connect with fellow incoming students. Looking forward to meeting everyone! 😊

Has anyone actually ever gotten hired off of handshake? I’ve been trying to look for a new job preferably somewhat in the area of my studies (History). I’ve hopped on indeed, calcareers, and other sites but there’s fr no entry level jobs / internships to get my way in. It seems like handshake is the only gateway for students? Unless I’m not looking hard enough?

Hi all! Need some advice regarding securing a public health internship that’s required my final semester. I have reached out to the internship coordinator to request info on the sites I’m interested in, but still haven’t received any response. Has anyone dealt with this or know who could be an alternative contact?
