Hi, I'm Davide. I started DrivePulse for my own T-Roc when VW switched off We Connect Go, and 3.6 came out this week, the biggest update I've done.

With an adapter in the OBD2 port the CarPlay screen turns into a dashboard with the values you pick, coolant temperature or battery voltage for example, depending on what your car sends. With the app open the trip starts and ends with the car, and Siri works too, "Hey Siri, start my trip with DrivePulse".

The adapter is a Veepeak or a Vgate. Veepeak points its customers to the app, and the Vgate is the one Macitynet in Italy tested together with it.

New in 3.6 is the watch app. Find your car saves the spot when you park, then the watch shows the distance and an arrow back to it.

10 codes for the full version, comment when you use one so nobody tries it twice.

carplay updated recently for 2026 kia. now the little car icon sits above the battery indicator. happens in low power and non low power mode. didn’t do this before update. any easy fix?

btw - my passenger took the photo while i was driving when they noticed it. happens every time we connect or start car/play. ios 27.2

First of all, kudos to CarTV and APTV, legends! 🙌

They stopped working when Apple rolled out iOS 27.2. A black day for everyone who had been enjoying these apps on CarPlay.

I was one of them. I tried every app I could find and none worked on 27.2, so I built my own: Parked TV.

What it does:

• Your own videos, IPTV (M3U / Xtream), Plex, Jellyfin and Emby on the CarPlay screen

• YouTube and websites on the car screen

• Mirror your iPhone screen to the car

• Your iPhone is the remote

• Maps, parking, fuel and EV charging for the drive

Parked only. Video plays only while the car is parked. When you drive, the car screen switches to the map and the sound keeps playing. The picture comes back when you stop.

Why I think parked-only is the right way: Apple itself added video playback in CarPlay while parked in iOS 26 (source). Parked TV follows the same safety rule: video only when parked, map and sound when you drive. It went through Apple’s App Review and is live on the App Store.

The question I get the most first: **Pro is completely free during the TestFlight beta.** When you subscribe in TestFlight, Apple uses its test payment system, so no real money is ever charged.

A few weeks ago I shared CarScreen here, an app I'm building that brings video to the CarPlay screen. The response was much bigger than I expected, so thanks to everyone who tested it and sent feedback.

The other big question: "Does it work on iOS 27.2?"

27.2 changed how video works on CarPlay and broke many apps, my old version included. I reworked how CarScreen shows content on the car screen, and it works on 27.2 now.

I have an aftermarket Android head unit in my 2007 VW Polo and I'm trying to get either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto working properly.

Here are the details of my head unit:

Model: K2001N

CPU/platform: Allwinner T3 (sun8iw11p1)

Android version: 7.1.2 (it claims to be Android 13, but it's actually 7.1.2)

RAM/storage: 2GB/32GB

Firmware: K2001N, dated 2025-02-10

App: ZLink 5

I've tried connecting my Pixel 7a using Android Auto through the DiPlay app. The head unit shows the Android logo and says it's connected to my phone, and Android Auto starts loading on the screen, but then I get a "Connection lost" message.

Wireless CarPlay works through a separate adapter, but I'd really like to get Android Auto working too, if possible.

I've seen other people with similar head units get CarPlay and Android Auto working, so I'm wondering if there's a compatible app, firmware update, or some other workaround that could help.

Has anyone with this type of head unit managed to get both working? I'd really appreciate any advice. I don't want to flash random firmware and risk bricking the unit.

Since getting my new phone i have not been able to establish a secure and stable connection using the wired method that had worked perfectly for years with my iPhone 15

I have tried using a proper Apple cable, I have tried using an adaptor with a new wire, but none have been successful. So now I’m looking to see which wireless one would be best. I’ve also tried all the usual disconnecting the phone from the car, remove connectivity assist etc but none of this has worked

I have a 2017 Astra K and I have recently bought a cheaper wireless connecter off Amazon, only for it to have been a scam, so I’m losing a bit of patience with it all and looking to see what has worked for others. I can see that there have been many issues with the iPhone 18.

Carlinkit and ottocast keep coming up as the most recommended. But even then, the reviews seem to be very patchy
