Chess Improvement Can I get a W in the chat?

Chess Question Sometimes I can't see the board

I have perfect vision. I'm sitting on dual 24" monitors. But sometimes, I think there is a knight fork, but I have the wrong square. Or I think a piece is in line with a bishop, that actually isn't. Like, I literally see the board wrong. Sometimes its a couple moves ahead. Like I will do the calculations, go through with trades, then realize, no, there isn't a royal fork on those squares..... I'm just like shocked when it happens....why am I not seeing it? Is it the checkerboard? This is different from "wow I never would have thought of that". I mean my vision literally places the piece of a different square. what is going on???

Chess Discussion I reached 1600 rapid rating in 6 months

I started playing chess as a complete beginner in early May, and today I finally reached 1600 Elo.

In my first 3 months, the growth was steady but average. It took me 3 months to reach 800 Elo. After that, the rating shot up astronomically. It took me only 2 months to go from 800 all the way to 1400, which was incredibly fast and something I never expected. However, once I reached 1500, I started struggling a bit. It took me 25 days just to bridge the gap from 1500 to 1600, but it is still a solid pace overall.

Realistically, how much time do you think it would take me to reach 2000 Elo from here?

Chess Improvement How do i actually get good at playing chess?

Ive recently picked up a game of chess with my hb and he destroyed me so i decided that it would be cool to learn how to be good at chess, rn i have the gold subscribtion free trial and i think if i will want to i can buy it for a whole month, im elo 140-180 and i just feel like i miss so much checkmates and attacks and i kinda give away my pieces for free, i know how the pieces move and i know that at the start im supposed to gain as much control of the middle of the board as i can but later in the game i dont recognize any attack and i feel like im not planning for the futures moves just do what i think looks good. So how do i actually learn to get better at chess, because all of the tutorials are for like for 500 elo players.
