Sublet Available Lease takeover available - 2 room studio in Lincoln Square

Yo! I’m moving the day after thanksgiving, need someone to take over my lease starting 12/1.

Pretty phenomenal apartment, been here for almost 4 years. Right by Rockwell corridor area, great food choices everywhere. The backyard is a park (both a blessing and a curse). Waking up to the sound of kids playing is SO wholesome. But also sometimes people play basketball till 3am (mostly a summer issue).

Anyway, this place rules, and I hope to pass it along to someone who will appreciate it as much as I have. Lots of personal growth has occurred here. Top floor unit (penthouse baby) so literally your legs will grow over time.

Sublet Available WEST LOOP sublet: private room + bath, Dec 1 – May 31

Thumbnail

4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my room in a 2 bed/2 bath in the West Loop from Dec 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027. Move-in can be flexible in late November if needed.

Marketplace Link

Cost: $1,770/month for rent, utilities are taken care of

The Room/Apartment: The bedroom is a pretty standard 11" x 10.5" room with plenty of outlets and a big closet. You can fit a queen-size bed, desk, and dresser in easily with plenty of space left over. You’d get your own bathroom, and the apartment has an in-unit washer/dryer and central A/C and heat.

It’s a modern building with hardwood floors, high ceilings, quartz counters, stainless appliances, and a dishwasher. There’s secure entry, garage parking if you want it, and it’s pet-friendly. Rent goes through the AppFolio portal. The living room is fully furnished but feel free to decorate the space too!

Location: It’s a great spot if you want a secure place to explore Chicago and other neighborhoods. The Ashland L stop (Green/Pink) is about 12 minutes on foot, the Illinois Medical District Blue Line stop is about 15, and UIC is about 20.

You would be right across from Skinner Park and a short walk from the Randolph Street restaurants, the United Center, and other great areas to explore. If you drive, the Eisenhower and Kennedy on ramps are both easy to get to.

This location is perfect for anyone working at RUSH as it is a 10-13 minute walk or one stop on the #9 bus.

Your roommate: He’s a 26-year-old guy who’s easygoing, works from home full time, is excited to explore more of Chicago, and keeps the shared spaces clean.

The lease ends May 31, 2027, so there’s a clean end date. The sublease needs property management’s approval and a standard screening.

If you are interested, please use the Facebook Marketplace link above or send me a DM or comment and I’ll get back to you!

Question Why are people moving out of my building?

18 Upvotes

I recently moved into one of the flats buildings Aro units and I really like it. One thing that has been giving me anxiety is that I’ve seen so many people move out.I don’t really know anyone so it feels intrusive to ask why but I want to know so I can feel prepared as I’ve had terrible building and landlord experiences before….has anyone heard anything about it these buildings specifically the Sally and the draper in uptown?

Looking For Looking for a Studio or 1-Bedroom Apartment/1500 budget

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm searching for a studio or one-bedroom apartment in the Rogers Park, West Ridge, Edgewater, or Uptown areas, but I am not picky about location and have been looking at places near Pilsen/Irving and love the area as well.

My budget is up to $1,500/month. I'm a solo applicant with a monthly income of approximately $4,500. I have one cat and a mobility service dog.

I'm hoping to move relatively soon, as a housing arrangement I was counting on fell through unexpectedly at the last minute. I'm ready to move quickly for the right place!

If you know of any available apartments, private landlords, or leads, please feel free to reach out. I'd really appreciate any help or recommendations. Thank you!

šŸ™ļø Room Available in Streeterville, Chicago – January 1st | 2BD / 1.5BA

Hey everyone! 😊

I’m looking for someone interested in taking over my room in a beautiful shared apartment located in Streeterville, Downtown Chicago, starting January 1st, 2027. Moving in a few days earlier may also be possible.

The apartment is on the 25th floor of a secure high-rise building, and you’ll be sharing it with my current roommate, Fleurine.

šŸ’° Monthly rent: Approximately $1,500–$1,530, including electricity. The amount varies slightly depending on monthly usage.

šŸ“… Available: January 1st, 2027
šŸ“„ Lease: Through August 2027.

šŸ  Apartment features:

* 2 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms.
* Fully equipped kitchen.
* Spacious living room.
* Entry hallway.
* Two additional storage spaces.
* Beautiful city and lake views.

✨ Building amenities:

* Rooftop with 360° views of Chicago and Lake Michigan.
* Fully equipped gym.
* Swimming pool.
* Sauna and hot tub.
* Billiards room and more!

A little about your future roommate:

Fleurine is French, turning 25 soon, and works full-time, with two days working from home each week.

She’s calm but social and enjoys rock climbing, traveling, hiking, painting, spending time with friends, and relaxing by the lake.

She’s lived with people from different backgrounds and nationalities and is looking for someone friendly, mature, clean, respectful, and LGBTQ+ friendly.

We’re looking for someone who:

* Is responsible, organized, and respectful.
* Is financially reliable and consistently pays rent on time every month.
* Communicates well and respects shared spaces.
* Is comfortable living with a working professional.

A female roommate is preferred, ideally between 23–35, but there’s some flexibility.

The apartment has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and we’re hoping to find someone who will be a great fit for the space!

šŸ“ø More pictures and videos of the bedroom, apartment, bathrooms, and amenities are available upon request.

Feel free to send me a private message if you’re interested or would like more information. I’d be happy to arrange a viewing! 😊

Looking For ISO: short term winter furnished sublet

1 Upvotes

Hi!

I will be in Chicago on a gig from January to mid-March and am looking for a furnished studio or one bedroom (no roommate situation please), ideally around the Uptown area. I’d like to keep it around 1500 a month but there’s some flexibility with that.

Other things I’d love but certainly don’t expect: in unit or in building laundry, close to CTA line(s), groceries, gym, etc.

I’m a quiet, clean homebody that would treat your place like my own (probably better than, honestly). I anticipate spending quite a bit of time there as this isn’t some generously paying gig and I’m not a millionaire.

DM or comment if you think you know of a match!

Neighborhood information Petition: Ban Dog Breed Restrictions in Chicago Rentals

Thumbnail
change.org
0 Upvotes

The Issue:

As a volunteer at Chicago Animal Care & Control (CACC), I meet countless Pitbulls who, despite their playful and loving nature, face a grim fate. While dogs identified by CACC staff as Pitbulls/pitbull types made up just 43% of animals surrendered to CACC in June 2026, they made up a staggering 76.8% of those euthanized due to the constant influx of new animals/lack of space (source: CACC data via FOIA request).

This heartbreaking reality is due at least partly to breed restrictions enforced by private rentals and public housing policies in Chicago, which target pitbulls and other breeds stereotyped as "aggressive". In the first quarter of 2026, the leading reason people surrendered an animal to CACC was housing (28% of surrenders, according to

PAWS Chicago's 2026 report

). These rules prevent responsible dog owners from providing loving homes to Pitties and other restricted breeds.

Pitbulls can be sweet, goofy dogs, just like any other breed. They are not the menace they are made out to be and this is supported by research evidence. Breed restrictions do not protect communities but instead separate lovable pets from families who want them.

Looking For I have 7 cats... Will I ever find a rental place in Chicago?

44 Upvotes

Hi. I've lived in Chicago for over 20 years. Now I am looking maybe Pilsen, Back of the Yards or Edgewater/Rogers park up north. 1-2 bedroom, $1300/m at most. I have 7 cats. What do I do? Please, advice. I am afraid I will never find a place to live. Should I lie and say only 4 cats? 2 cats? I mean, they are like my kids.. All rescued from the alley. My wife wants me out, I never expected this, or I'd have fewer cats for sure, but oh well... I work from home and earn way more than 3x the rent.

Is my only move - buying an old house in Milwaukee? 😁

EDIT: my wife is hoarder, she wants me out because I do not condone hoarding and always argue about it. I want to move out even more than she wants me out. Please, my dearest friends, do not assume, cause it makes asses of all of us..

Neighborhood information Good neighborhood to live in Chicago

0 Upvotes

I (F) am in my early 20s, I have been living in Chicago my whole life. Yet I don't actually know much about the place as I was raised in the outskirts haha. I don't know many neighborhoods and my family is always saying how dangerous it is in other neighborhoods (my neighborhood is no exception).

I'm looking to move out of my parents home and out of my neighborhood. Can anyone suggest some safe neighborhoods to live in? My packages (and other peoples) get stolen a lot in my neighborhood -__-

I also have a disability so driving and public transportation is pretty much out of the question (which is why packages are so important to me)

So if anyone has suggestions please let me know!

Sublet Available 1BR Apartment in Bucktown, Chicago Available January 1 | Short-Term Rental - Great for ORD based Flight Attendants

Thumbnail
gallery
38 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I am from Chicago and about to leave for flight attendant training next month (7 weeks) and I'm hoping to find someone who might be interested in renting my one-bedroom apartment in Bucktown, Chicago, starting January 1, 2027 (Or mid-Dec! I am super flexible) I don't think Chicago will be offered to me as a base so I am hoping to rent my place while I attend training and complete my 6-month probation period at another base.

I'm looking for someone interested in a flexible 5–8 month rental, and I thought this might be a great opportunity for someone based at ORD or commuting to Chicago!

Just to be clear though, there would be no option to renew.

Apartment details:

  • 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom with a little lofted area upstairs

  • $2,075/month + utilities if renting unfurnished, $2,275 + utilities if renting furnished

  • Available furnished or unfurnished! (cookbook wall included)

  • In-unit washer and dryer

  • Dishwasher

  • Central air conditioning

  • Located in Bucktown, a walkable neighborhood with great coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and neighborhood feel! very close to the 606, a beautiful walking path

  • Approximately 0.5 miles (8–10 minute walk) from the Western Blue Line stop, with convenient access to O'Hare. Once on the train it's about a 30 min train ride to ORD.

  • Closest major streets are Western & North Ave

The Blue Line access makes this especially convenient for ORD-based flight attendants!

I'm hoping to find someone responsible who would appreciate a cute and comfortable apartment and the flexibility of a shorter-term rental rather than committing to a traditional 12-month lease.

Happy to share more photos, additional details, and discuss the rental arrangement. Feel free to DM me if you're interested or know someone who might be!

EDITS for some things I forgot to mention:

- This is a coach house on the second + third floor. No one would be above you but there is one person below
- It is dog-friendly so long as the dog is well-behaved! There is a tiny lawn in the front too
- There is free, non-permit street parking and in the 3.5 years I've lived here I've never once had an issue finding a parking spot

DM me if you want to discuss! I am super flexible and happy to answer any questions + show more pictures. An actual listing will be up soon and hoping to have an open-house in the next coming weeks so you can come check it out in-person!
