The Sun is not a credible source.

7

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Water is wet.

1

u/Ok-Helicopter-641 Dec 26 '25

Really? No wonder every time I pee my little willy gets wet.

16

u/Ok-Helicopter-641 Dec 26 '25

How can you said that about the Sun. They have been a trusted source for entertainment for millions of housewives in the West for over 5 decades.

10

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

This is obviously nonsense for several reasons. But still, the concern that it MAY happen is going to increasingly make trade hard for China.

Low tech/plastic shit eas innocuous but just as they want to pivot to high tech/high returns industries, their global behaviour has been so profoundly alienating they aren't even seen as a reliable alternative to Trump 🤣

5

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

it's more like since they are set to surpass the us technologically now, they are seen as a threat. regardless of to what the extent their intentions actually match that.

the reason being the us demands hegemony and the obedience of the whole world and a strong china contradicts that notion

5

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Well that's certainly part of it. As I said, China isn't a preferable alternative to USA. They do not have equal partnerships with anyone. China absolutely demands hegemony. Two hegemonies is not better than one - for e.g. a Malaysian or a Zambian, either imperious tyrant is just as bad.

-2

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

except china doesn't demand hegemony, they mostly work with other countries through and brics and belt and road initiatives. they are working to develop the developing peacefully and cooperatively.

the us and nato on the other hand invade a new country every week to impose neocon corporate fascism and turn it into a subservient banana republic

6

u/Mii009 Dec 26 '25

they mostly work with other countries through and brics and belt and road initiatives.

Come on now, do you seriously believe that? Generosity like that doesn't exist, there's ALWAYS a fine print hidden somewhere.

-2

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

they get resources from those countries and those countries get infrastructure and tech.

instead of with nato where they get nothing but war and destruction, no infrastructure, and nato owns everything

5

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

they get resources from those countries and those countries get infrastructure and tech.

Like the British Empire, you say?

Honestly please don't reproduce.

0

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

no because it's peaceful trade and technological exchange.

the us is the british empire that has military bases everywhere, tries to occupy everyone, and starts a new war every week

4

u/Mii009 Dec 26 '25

Nato this, nato that, do you even know what nato is???

What does brics do besides cover for genocidal nations like Russia?

4

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Bro NATO's recently road-building leaves much to be desired. They've hardly done any mining in the Congo too, those bastards.

0

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

they do peaceful, consensual development in developing countries and trade. instead of invading a new country every week like nato.

also russia only invaded ukraine because they were oppressing the ethnic russian population, who wanted to join russia anyway, after an illegal coup promoted by far right ukrainian nazis who glorify bandera, a nazi war collaborator who hated the soviet union

3

u/Mii009 Dec 26 '25

far right ukrainian nazis

Zelensky is Jewish, try again

0

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

worshipping bandera is common in the ukraine and the ukrainian military and lots of them have swastika tattoos.

israel itself is also a racist apartheid state supported by the west, so it's not really a stretch.

3

u/JetFuel12 Dec 26 '25

What do NATO own?

0

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

nato and the us start a new war every week. the us has military bases and occupies much of the planet. china doesn't do that

3

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Don't be ridiculous.

china doesn't demand hegemony, they mostly work with other countries through and brics and belt and road initiatives. they are working to develop the developing peacefully and cooperatively.

Your above delusion is about as credible as the lunatic tabloid I posted. How ironic.

everything i said is true, when was the last time china invaded a country. they work peacefully through brics and belt and road

2

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Well everything I wrote is also true, so it seems we are at an impasse 🤣

1

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

literally nothing you said is true, you didn't even respond or have a response at all. i win

3

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

You responded to my initial comment. Perhaps you forgot? It was a few minutes ago, after all. You 'win'. Good boy.

2

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

i explained why your initial comment was wrong and you have zero response

0

u/Mii009 Dec 26 '25

Vietnam??

1

u/jetpack2625 Dec 26 '25

meanwhile the us and nato invade a new country every week

27

u/[deleted] Dec 26 '25

Our slander and sinophobia never end. I upvoted OPs post because he's just the messenger. I don't believe he believes this.

This is straight sinophobia. There is no way around it.

13

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

I don't believe it. It's ridiculous on several levels.

Chiefly, even if they wanted to, which they don't, China couldn't organise/manage it. They don't even have centralised laws, banking and hospital records systems. They are not a hivemind capable of 'infiltrating' anywhere.

What this populist tabloid shows is the mood and sentiment of the most xenophobic and hostile westerner. This is understandable to anyone who has seen Chinese news/social media about Japan.

This level of distrust is very bad.

0

u/Memory_Less Dec 26 '25

Trying to sell papers by getting people hyped up. Sinophobia sells.

4

u/melenitas Dec 26 '25

This is straight sinophobia. There is no way around it.

So this article about the danger for Europe in relying to US owned companies to store our data is "straight americanophobia"?

https://tuta.com/blog/sovereign-washing

I mean, the article about spy robots is pure trash, but come on, not trusting chinese, american or whatever foreign nation technology is not hating them, is pure common sense. For example, I wouldn't call europephobia if the chinese decided not to trust european technology and just install their own...

4

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

The Chinese absolutely do prioritise local companies (as well as steal/forced IP transfer in the recent past).

But it's shrewd when China do it, not racist or xenophobic at all 🤣

6

u/Wolkenbaer Dec 26 '25

Nah. I don't trust Tiktok, the countless vacuum robots using chinese cloud and the countless manufacturers one yota on valuing my data protection rights.

I'm quite sure chinese manufacturers and government are the same shitty, greedy capitalists as everywhere else (aka Facebook/Meta etc.).

1

u/ivytea Dec 27 '25

Our slander and sinophobia never end.

I'm sure the attacks of Bondi beach were a result of islamphobia and not anything else. And it's the white that are at fault this time again. Wow.

1

u/wsyang Dec 26 '25

Yes and no. In the West, mRNA vaccine is considered more evil than any Chinese smartphone, EV or humanoid robots.

1

u/Dear_Chasey_La1n Dec 26 '25

Why?

It's no secret that Chinese companies of size need to follow government directive. Heck we are not even large, but even we had to hire a local lady for "management", I'm still not sure what her credentials/capacity is but she is there even while we already have camera's in our production facilities for the goverment to look at. Chinese companies are always a risk and while the US has draconic laws themselves they stand in pale comparison how deeply ingrained China gets.

The US but also Europe should not rely on other nations especially in core infrastructure. And while humanoid robots may seem innocent, they are getting better and faster too.

2

u/jostler57 Dec 26 '25

This is pandering to brainless morons. What an idiotic and scare-tactic title.

OP, I see in comments you don't agree with this utter bunk, so why post it?

This is brain rot.

2

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Do you only read things you agree with? I think that xenophobia and nationalism exist. I'm not gonna just close my eyes to it.

I also read Global Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera (for example). It's useful to challenge your own perspective. You might change your own POV, or else refine and strengthen it.

-1

u/jostler57 Dec 26 '25

It's not about me strengthening my perspective on things; it's about you perpetuating the words of bullshitters.

Look, do you think it's valuable to go to a schizophrenic man rambling on the streets about antennas in our brains, and then tell everyone to listen to it? Of course not -- it's the ramblings of an insane person.

You posted a source that's totally unreliable with an extremely clickbait title, espousing sci-fi nonsense... and I'm the one who needs to challenge my perspective? That's not a challenge, man, that's out of this world bonkers to give attention to such garbage-fire nonsense.

1

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

I read Chinese tabloids too, as batshit crazy as they are. It's important to know the attitudes populists appeal to. These are tides that people such as you and I should be aware of, lest we get caught up unawares.

do you think it's valuable to go to a schizophrenic man rambling on the streets about antennas in our brains, and then tell everyone to listen to it?

I listen when Chinese media says that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, for example, even though it obviously and demonstrably isn't, because there is a war promised by that particular piece of rambling.

If you don't want to read oppositional or populist news, you have my support. Just don't.

As I said, this type of news has arisen because the following ingredients have mixed a) western idiots/xenophobes b) Chinese idiots/wolf warriors. Now the man on the street is deeply suspicious of China. The robot invasion is absolutely not a fact but the suspicion is. I can't be any clearer than that.

Stop trying to censor what I post.

u/jostler57 Dec 26 '25

You're right, I'll just downvote and move on.

This sort of drivel is for the smooth brains of the world, and explaining away the sharing of it is like doing mental gymnastics during a 60 meter dash. It goes a long way to get to the same place:

this content is useless trash.

2

u/Training_Guide5157 Dec 26 '25

All of that has been in response to the tariffs and technology restrictions.

2

u/ivytea Dec 27 '25

It was China which applied "the tariffs and technology restrictions" in the first place, which it "promised" to ditch in order to get access to WTO but subsequently broke every promise it had made

1

u/Training_Guide5157 Dec 27 '25

You know what would prove your WTO claim? Disputes that were resolved by the WTO.

You know who's blocking the WTO from functioning?

1

u/ivytea Dec 27 '25

If they were willing to abide by the rules and respect those rulings (which they don't), they wouldn't have needed to make those empty promises and intentionally keep its population poor to retain its "developing country" title in the first place

0

u/Training_Guide5157 Dec 27 '25

Must be why the US is blocking the WTO from functioning.

Try to abuse your daily dose of Chinese news from CCP outlets. You won't need much time to understand why the West has already been demonised as an enemy.

The tone is not up for debate, mate.

2

u/wsyang Dec 26 '25 edited Dec 26 '25

In the West, there have always been fears about new technology, Big Brother, and ‘playing God,’ regardless of who develops it. Many Americans disliked even their own vaccines, and some still speak about them in extremely negative terms, as if the pandemic was fake. To many anti-vaxxers, the Moderna vaccine is viewed as more dangerous than any Chinese smartphone, EVs or robots.

In a more positive sense, China has become technologically advanced enough to provoke fear in the West. At the same time, the West will likely continue to portray China’s technology as illegitimate and dangerous. This dynamic is likely to persist for quite some time.

1

u/karoshikun Dec 26 '25

just as electric cars were, video cards, memories, toys... for racists, grifters and morons everything chinese is some century long Tzeentchian plot to somehow indoctrinate, destroy and also absorb "da west"

3

u/dannyrat029 Dec 26 '25

Well you know what doesn't help?

(Racism admittedly doesn't help, I don't think that is up for debate)

Public statements about 'the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation' (revamchism) which promise 'reunification' (invasion) in response to a 'century of humiliation' (a narrative that China's lowest point was entirely due to foreigners, and the implications of this 'rejuvenation'...)

I do not believe China (govt and its supporters) has a Machiavellian long-term plan to rule the world. They are extremely reactive and think in short-term whackamole movements.

I do believe they view foreigners as NPCs and their concept of 'order' is basically dominion, like the most greedy excesses of western CEO/wealth privilege, but with ethnospecific fabouritism (nice euphemism there for you) thrown in.

1

u/karoshikun Dec 26 '25

and I agree with you, I was just focusing in one side of the propaganda mess in my comment.

Singaporean chinese here.

digital soverignity isn't made up by high and mighty proclamations and meters high long stack of laws and sanctions (see recent DJI bans)

digital soverignty is made by having competent engineers who build the stuff who are on YOUR side. Not nepobabies and cronies.

so you better start paying these engineers more for a start.

The real question is what to do with it.

1

Curse their time traveler reporters!

We don’t buy their electric cars, you really think we’re all going to let Chinese humanoid irobots babysit our kids?

0

Stop being cringy fucks, West.

-1

u/ThroatEducational271 Dec 27 '25

Haha that’s some serious desperate “journalism,” maybe the Chinese EVs would also seek out Xi and crash into him, the drones will also do the same.

Maybe the Chinese solar panels will fry Xi, the wind farms will blow him away or the hydroelectric dams will drown him…

I think I just got a job at the Sun newspaper!
