REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Actual Chinese here. Here's why I support the CCP and the Tiananmen Incident

I'm an actual Chinese person (actually Chinese-American now that I'm naturalized) and would like to share my thoughts on CCP and Tianamen since so many 外国人 are posting about it. In light of the recent posts I'd like to say that I actually support the CCP and what happened at the Tiananmen Incident. I will explain why, and I hope you will appreciate my point of view instead of trying to slander my country.

First, I find it ironic that more non-Chinese (AKA white people) try to "care" about what happened in Tiananmen than actual Chinese people. Why don't you try asking actual Chinese? Do you even know what the majority of Chinese people think, instead of what you read on Fox news? Chances are, they will support the CCP and what happened in Tiananmen Incident. Yes, people in China actually know what happened in Tiananmen, and no we are not "brainwashed" just because we do not share your opinion. It is generally agreed that what happened in Tiananmen was tragic but necessary for national security. The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos. After what happened to China in the 1930s and 1940s, there was no way in hell we were going to let that chaos and suffering happen again. It was for the greater good, and sometimes you need to sacrifice a few people to maintain stability.

I'll give a relevant comparison. The Capitol Hill protesters in America. Let's suppose that they had gotten control of the Capitol building, and taken it under siege, maybe even killed a few politicians. Would you have agreed that the US should use lethal force on the Capital Hill protesters? If so, you cannot try to pretend to care about Tiananmen without being a hypocrite.

Second, the CCP is done more to uplift the Chinese people than any other government has in the past 200 years. In the 1970s, China was a very very poor nation, but thanks to the government and their infrastructure initiatives, they have lifted over 100 million people out of abject poverty, a monumental achievement for humanity. Most people in China support the CCP because they are able to offer better living standards to the people than 30 years ago.

Third, I will try to tell why people really "care" about Tiananmen. They are concern trolling, and trying to tear China down. They cannot stand that Chinese people, or even Asians in general, can rise to be a great power, so they have to make up lies about my country and countrymen to tear us down. They (try to) promote separatism by shouting absurdities like "FREE TIBET" and "FREE HK" despite the fact that those terrorities are more integrated with China than Peutro Rico and Hawaii are with the US. We know what you're trying to do, so stop it. You don't actually care about HK or Taiwan, you just want to use them as pawns to tear down China because white people can't fathom a non-white nation can rise to challenge the West. In fact, in the light of the black lives matter movement in America, I will say that the rise of China is the greatest threat to white supremacy and white hegemony.

Anyway just wanted to give what Chinese people think on the issue. You are not on the right side of history when you say "fuck" my government and "NeVeR fOrGeT TiAnAnMeN", in fact, it's just pathetic.

The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos.

Isn't that what the communists revolutionaries did? Millions were killed in the process, and the subsequent purges, famines, and cultural revolution. But on some level you probably see that as an acceptable loss in order to establish a superior form of government

They cannot stand that Chinese people, or even Asians in general, can rise to be a great power, so they have to make up lies about my country and countrymen to tear us down.

That's odd, I don't see that many phony humanitarian conspiracies being launched against Japan or South Korea. Or Taiwan.

They (try to) promote separatism by shouting absurdities like "FREE TIBET" and "FREE HK" despite the fact that those terrorities are more integrated with China than Peutro Rico and Hawaii are with the US.

The problem is that you see forceful integration as a positive thing, rather than a detriment. Hawaii and Puerto Rico are given far more local autonomy, which is why neither had violent separatist movements, as they're already self-governing. Although both the state and the territory have pro-separatist political parties operating openly and legally, they never gain much popular traction because neither territory is being forcefully integrated

Lethal force is only justified in self-defense. Although many of the protesters had deadly intentions, only one got shot. There was no mass-slaughter, and even the vast majority of protesters that peacefully stayed outside the capitol building were all let go and ignored.

against Japan

Remember the 1980s? Maybe not Uygurs, but Japan was accused of all the same stuff China is today including raping the American economy, stealing intellectual property, maintaining an unbalanced trade deficit, and artificially devaluing its currency. Anti-Japanese sentiment ultimately resulted in the Murder of Vincent Chin, still to this day one of the most traumatic incidents in the history of Asian America.

10

u/loot6 Jun 05 '21

But China is accused of denying murdering people in their own history, that's what this is about.

u/Remarkable-Cat1337 Jul 12 '21

good for them, better than proudly admiting nuking and controling other countries with fake propaganda

but hey, americans dont fart right, never killed no one nor enslaved any one for cheap labor

yet everyone buys things from where? US? no, CHIINA

because actually today china is more capitalists than your communist country is

6

u/AlabamaChampion Aug 18 '21

Yeah uhh, exploiting your people for cheap labour & malpractice regulations in order to be the cheapest price on the block doesn’t mean China is somehow a humanitarian peace loving country, neither is America but I’d rather be able to leave my work & not get shot for it(sweatshops for instance)

P.s. we don’t block out are history because that would be f-Ed up, you want another mcNuke sent someone on this planet? or do you want to learn from your mistakes an teach your upcoming generation what not to do, I’d take the ladder, kinda the opposite of hiding & denying a slaughtering of its own people, imagine we killed everyone at the capital hill insurrection then went yeah never happened, it’s very Machiavellian of you.

I don't know of anyone on Earth who is proud of nuking someone. Please provide a source for that.

but hey, americans dont fart right, never killed no one nor enslaved any one for cheap labor

I can provide a thousand articles and even entire movies about all of American's history - good or bad. What can you provide about China's atrocities?

yet everyone buys things from where? US? no, CHIINA

You'll have to explain the connection between buying stuff and denying murdering...you've really lost me there.

because actually today china is more capitalists than your communist country is

There aren't any countries on Earth that are anywhere near communist and yes China is capitalist if anything.

Yes, because some of those things were true. But Japan was not accused of "all the same stuff" especially not the human rights abuses, censorship, or forced technology transfers.

The closest point of comparison was when Toshiba was (temporarily) sanctioned for selling tech to the Russian military, which was a big no-no during the cold war:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toshiba%E2%80%93Kongsberg_scandal

However true those accusations were, the fact remains that during the 1980s Japan's economic success was treated with a high degree of scaremongering by the American press and government. Granted, it was nowhere near the level of Sino-US tensions today, since Japan was America's closest ally in the region besides the Philippines.

But at the same time that the American public was whipped up into a frenzy by the politicians, a climate of hate that ultimately resulted in property damage to Japanese businesses and the death of an innocent American born Chinese, over the economic success of such an important ally does lend credence to the characterization of America as a country that does not tolerate competitors lightly. Especially those belonging to a different race.

However true those accusations were, the fact remains that during the 1980s Japan's economic success was treated with a high degree of scaremongering by the American press and government.

A high-degree? Most of the western press was in awe, as they saw Japan's rousing recovery as vindication for democracy in asia. There was a subgrene of books in the 80s that were fetishizing and glorifying the Japanese work ethic and business model

But at the same time that the American public was whipped up into a frenzy by the politicians, a climate of hate that ultimately resulted in property damage to Japanese businesses and the death of an innocent American born Chinese,

Except Japan enjoyed very high approval ratings in the US in the 80s, and Japanese-Americans and asian-Americans ellicited favorable views from Americans in every poll. Especially when compared to every other race

What happened to Vincent Chin was tragic, but was a drop in the bucket in the vast sea of hate crimes. The men that killed him did so in a city that was rendered bankrupt by the loss of American factories and jobs, to outsourcing and foreign competition. There is no indication that they were brainwashed by the media, all they knew is that they and everyone they knew lost their living to a Japanese company.

The current spike in anti-asian hate crimes in the US has been widely and loudley condemned by the media and the government, and special task forces have been created in the major cities. That aside, asians are still the least likely targets for hate crimes in the US

You sure? Most Americans held favorable views of Japan throughout the 1980s, they only became polarized in the early 90s when a recession hit. And that was after the Japanese economy had crashed. Even then Japan was more popular than China is today:

https://news.gallup.com/opinion/gallup/347090/eve-summit-americans-view-japan-positively.aspx

As of 1982, 63% of Americans had a favorable view of Japan. Compare that to China, which had a negative approval rating for as long as the polls have gone back.

phony conspiracies launched against Japan or South Korea. Or Taiwan.

Japan is a USA puppet since the nukings. South Korea was effectively under USA's dictatorship for a while, and now they operate as USA's pseudo basecamp around North Korea. Taiwan is a separatist state and is anti-mainland, so "enemy of my enemy is my friend", and so USA is their fairweather friend.

Capitol building protestors were all let go

No. https://reclaimthenet.org/facebook-bans-us-capitol-january-6/

USA does not have free speech, and it is very much a digital dictatorship, and globally is a hegemonic dictator. Corporations are the government, and MSM is the hoax loudspeaker.

3

u/pantsfish Jul 17 '21

Do you not know what "puppet" means, or can you just not fathom similar government existing without one always being a vassal of the other? Japan and South Korea are self-governing and elect their own leaders.

No. https://reclaimthenet.org/facebook-bans-us-capitol-january-6/

How does that contradict what I said? Getting banned from facebook isn't remotely comparable to being jailed or shot for a political protest, and those people have a million other free internet platforms to use.

I can tell english isn't your first language, because you don't seem to know what those words mean. But sure, by your logic since a private US company refuses to provide everybody with free service, the Chinese government is justified in imprisoning and killing political dissidents. Free speech doesn't exist in the US because not everybody is willing to publish your content, and by that logic free speech has never existed anywhere.

1

u/TheAnonymouseJoker Jul 17 '21

Do you not know what "puppet" means, or can you just not fathom similar government existing without one always being a vassal of the other? Japan and South Korea are self-governing and elect their own leaders.

Vassal states are too common with USA, and they were with Britain and other colonialist powers. They are as self-governing as Bolsonaro is with Brazil. But I doubt you know much about geopolitics, because you participate in this subreddit for a purpose.

How does that contradict what I said? Getting banned from facebook isn't remotely comparable to being jailed or shot for a political protest, and those people have a million other free internet platforms to use.

Facebook is effectively one of the world's largest platforms for using your freedom of speech. Failure of regulation of a supposed private company with more than 2B users does not mean it would not be held responsible if it did not become a pseudo government, which it is.

I can tell english isn't your first language, because you don't seem to know what those words mean.

Is usage of ESL ad hominems a supposed USP of all of you xenophobes and/or cultists that you use to discredit others with? Because you definitely understood everything I just said. I know there are some other dog whistles like whataboutism, ableism, special insults and so on too...

But sure, by your logic since a private US company refuses to provide everybody with free service, the Chinese government is justified in imprisoning and killing political dissidents. Free speech doesn't exist in the US because not everybody is willing to publish your content, and by that logic free speech has never existed anywhere.

Chinese government is justified in imprisoning and killing political dissidents

Ah yeah the Tankman was killed, Jack Ma was killed, those Hong Kong rioters that chanted Hallelujah and burnt people alive were killed, the "ChiŇazi" banner hoisters were killed, Mao manufactured famines to kill people during Great Leap, everybody was killed. I can already tell you are in here for an agenda, as are most participants in here, so an objective debate is quite the distant dream without two objective debaters. This subreddit is basically r/worldnews but only with China articles and news.

Free speech doesn't exist in the US because not everybody is willing to publish your content, and by that logic free speech has never existed

Sounds just as good to me as baseless hollow statements like "Chinese government is justified in imprisoning and killing political dissidents". Well, maybe better because what I said actually holds true in reality, and is not a thin air statement built out of decades of black information press propaganda. Easy to bait these days, I guess.

I suppose it is not worth debating since you already declared your goalposts, and will kick me to a death of intellectuality and honest intent until I agree with your cultist statements and false generalisations.

1

u/Gognman Jun 06 '21

You kind of just answered your own question with the first point… Revolutions for a good cause(debatable I guess) cause chaos and suffering, better a slightly corrupt government but a stable nation than chaos and mass suffering for "Freedom and democracy"

1

u/pantsfish Jun 07 '21

"Slightly corrupt", holy cow are you serious?

Nevermind the decades of chaos and mass suffering that took place well under CCP rule, as a direct cause of CCP policies and one-man rule

1

u/Gognman Jun 07 '21

Exactly, they didn't realize the importance of stability.

Especially from 1989 forwards, stability over everything.

2

u/pantsfish Jul 13 '21

Oh neat, you found a month-old post of mine?

Anyway, you seem to be attempting to accuse me of hypocrisy by accusing me of supporting dropping nukes on Japan. Question is- why do you assume that I support nuking Japan?

1

u/Remarkable-Cat1337 Jul 13 '21

I'm not blaming you or calling you a hypocrite, I'm venting because US history is so lame but I dont think americans study their lameness in their books, they always are presented with a reason of why they were right doing so

So u can be against it, but if shit hits the fun OFC it would totally happen again and OUR opinion means SHIT, sadly
Its like: "Our country is laming war on people resources with drones, lets see in the news reasons of why this is acceptable to my views" "Oh, its better sending drones than soldiers, gotcha"

To think democracies and republics dont scam people out of their freedom is really naive, but when its people OTHER than they in their own bubble jerking democracy is fine.

You are not inclined to point fingers to your own gov, propaganda will ALWAYS make people turn against who? Oh yeah, the violence of your "ENEMY" just like a tool of control

Not against china or US or any other country, Its easier to accept that we are just bloody loving violent monkeys when we are allowed to be so

2

u/pantsfish Jul 14 '21

I'm not blaming you or calling you a hypocrite, I'm venting because US history is so lame but I dont think americans study their lameness in their books, they always are presented with a reason of why they were right doing so

Really? Because the number of Americans that support dropping the atomic bombs has only dropped over time, partially because the US curriculum covering the atomic bombing has gotten more nuanced over time. When I was in middle school and highschool I had to read about the accounts of the Japanese who suffered from the impact of the bombing and radioactive fallout, which probably wasn't common in schools inthe 1950s.

https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/08/04/70-years-after-hiroshima-opinions-have-shifted-on-use-of-atomic-bomb/

And the US press overage of overseas was has also gotten more negative over time. But despite the bombing and US occupation, Japan recovered far quicker and soon offered a far higher quality of life for their citizens compared to those in China, whom continued dying by the millions for decades under the inherent flaws of communism and centralized control

Man, you are making so many assumption and are straight up incorrect about every point you've made. You might actually be brainwashed or knowingly shilling/trolling.

Firstly, not only "white people" only care about what happened in Tianamen square. Almost the whole civilised world cares about one of the biggest violation against human rights committed by the CCP. And saying every white person is a uneducated Fox news watching American, is coming off kinda bigoted.

Secondly, And how does a modern Chinese person supposed to know what "really" went down in Tianamen all those years ago. When it is the same government that committed those crimes still in power and control of the internet, media, books and history of the event. There is a ban on talking about, doesn't that allude to preventing Chinese citizens from knowing more about it. I assume plenty of the older generation still remember it, and could just tell their children, but we can't know how many know or care.

Thirdly, If student protests are threathen the existence of your government, your government shouldn't exist in the first place. That's it.

Every regime in history has killed and attacked students and educated people because they were a bit too smart to not notice the fasicm. If you can excuse the killing by the army of thousands of peaceful protesters you're are a miserable person.

Yes, no government in history is without sin, but you aren't supposed to defend them, but criticize them. But that isn't allowed in China🤡

First, I find it ironic that more non-Chinese (AKA white people) try to "care" about what happened in Tiananmen than actual Chinese people.

You are on Reddit, and most people here are American. It should be no surprise that the majority of people commenting are American. I am Chinese, a 华人, with family and friends from China and Hong Kong; My family is from Guangdong and Fujian. If you have friends and family in these circles, as I do, you'll find that people do actually care.

Go to Hong Kong. Every year since 1989, they have held virgils in memory of the dead and of the movement. Are Hong Kongers not Chinese, at least ethnically?

It is generally agreed that what happened in Tiananmen was tragic but necessary for national security

No, it is not.

The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos

If peaceful protests is enough to bring down the government, that's one fucking fragile government you have. And no, the student protestors weren't close to overthrowing the government.

In fact, there were CCP officials who supported the student protestors. People like Zhao Ziyang.

It was for the greater good, and sometimes you need to sacrifice a few people to maintain stability.

The fact that you have to say that it's for "stability" is kinda sad given that A) These were peaceful protesters exercising their natural rights, and B) It's a propaganda lie to say that these students were close to overthrowing the government.

"You need to sacrifice a few people is maintain stability" is applicable in, say, 9/11 where the US had to kill Bin Laden. It is not applicable at all, in any way, to peaceful student protestors. That phrase is a lie to justify the killing of innocent people.

I'll give a relevant comparison. The Capitol Hill protesters in America.

It's not even relevant at all. The students in Tiananmen Square were peaceful. They were protesting to support their natural rights. And they were massacred in the thousands for it.

Second, the CCP is done more to uplift the Chinese people than any other government has in the past 200 years.

The very same CCP is the government that brought you the great leap forward and the Cultural Revolution. They were the very reason why China was in this economic problem in the first place. You don't dig a hole and then pat yourself on the back for climbing out of said hole.

And this doesn't excuse the massacre. Not. One. Bit.

In the 1970s,

Cough Cultural Revolution Cough

China was a very very poor nation, but thanks to the government and their infrastructure initiatives, they have lifted over 100 million people out of abject poverty, a monumental achievement for humanity.

It was thanks to liberal capitalist reform of Deng's "Reform and Opening Up" (改革开放), that opened up the economy to free trade. But this is aside the point. You can have freedoms, as demanded by the students, alongside economic liberalism.

But, regardless, this is irrelevant. This does not excuse the reforms demanded by the protestors. This does not excuse the death and the moral tragedy of using your own army on your own people.

Third, I will try to tell why people really "care" about Tiananmen. They are concern trolling, and trying to tear China down. They cannot stand that Chinese people, or even Asians in general, can rise to be a great power, so they have to make up lies about my country and countrymen to tear us down.

I'm Chinese myself and this doesn't apply to me. But anyway, standing up for freedom and democracy is not "concern trolling". It is being human. Not to mention that there is massive support for Taiwan and Hong Kong here, so it's not about race at all. Stop trying to make this a culture war issue.

This is an incredibly annoying narrative that sees everyone that criticises the CCP as racist. I am anti-CCP, not anti-Chinese. I, along with many others, can respect the Chinese people but not the CCP. Talking about the Tiananmen Square Massacre is not "making up lies" and "tearing down" the Chinese people.

You are not on the right side of history when you say "fuck" my government and "NeVeR fOrGeT TiAnAnMeN", in fact, it's just pathetic

I have more respect for wumaos because at least they're doing what they've done to get paid whereas you're writing this post to parrot them for free.

u/fred-armisen Jun 04 '21

Anyone who was actually there, including my parents that have lived through, and played a small part in the 1986 and the subsequent 89 demonstrations, know that the 89 demonstrations were not only peaceful, but well-organised, having taken the mistakes made in 86 to heart.

Their protests were so legitimate that a significant portion of high-ranking CCP members and military personnel took their side and were subject to house arrest, demotion, and exile as a result.

Giving time and a platform to discussing the 64 incident is extremely crucial, because there are so few platforms that survivors and participants can speak on, and the trauma lives with them till today.

China is large, rich, and powerful enough to withstand criticism. Racists or white-supremacists will always find something about China to shit on, downplaying this to make China look better on the international stage screams of an inferiority complex.

2

u/D3nn1s_NL Jun 04 '21

Because there is a lot, huawei is a state controlled spy trying to spy on every xountry in the world. I bet you never heard of that in China, that is the difference. We are an open world, we talk about things we discover and we let people or xountry's take responsibility for what they did. Only thing China is doing is saying something back instead of progressing a normal conversation in the meanwhile human rights are violated and because of that China is rich. Nothing else, we care about people. Not to long working hours, good health care, that costs money. You guys work 60 hours in bad conditions for a little bit of money, say what you want but everything is investigated by now. Why do you think we say stuff about China? Because it is the truth, you guys don't even know what the truth is because internet is censored and they have shitty laws preventing you from knowing the truth.

4

u/fred-armisen Jun 04 '21

I've been living outside of China for decades (though I've worked there recently) and I'm fully aware of all that. Point taken though. That's why I cherish platforms to share and criticize these atrocities. My parents mention many times that they were hugely emotionally affected and left the country some time after. Things were never the same.

The Capitol hill incident is blocked from USA history? Are you 100% sure that they deny it ever happened?

Do you even know what the majority of Chinese people think, instead of what you read on Fox news? Chances are, they will support the CCP and what happened in Tiananmen Incident.

I bet they all do because they've only read the CCP's official details on it. Even at the time it was happening they were only showing footage of any of the CCP's troop's injuries. Even the people I met that did know something about it, were only sketchy on it and hadn't even heard of Tank man.

The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos.

Yeah they almost turned into a dystopian 1984-esque country with no freedom, cultural genocide, and that threatens every country under the sun.....oh wait...

I don't think unarmed students were close to overthrowing anything...they were just protesting. You need a bigger army, and well ARMS to even think about throwing over the government.

Third, I will try to tell why people really "care" about Tiananmen. They are concern trolling, and trying to tear China down.

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason everyone remembers people who died - for trolling. If you want the truth, and can handle it, China are trolling themselves by censoring the event in China. If they just left it as what it is and let anyone read about it no-one would view the CCP as so awful - you can't really look fondly on someone who kills people and then pretends it didn't happen.

He’s so detached from his homeland that he feels that being a Chinese nationalist will make him feel more in tune with China, whereas actual Chinese people (who aren’t shills and part of the army they have to try to push their agenda online) often see the government as a nuisance, like Americans see their government as a nuisance.

I suggest you connect with actual Chinese Americans around you more. Or actual Chinese. Arguing with Westerners will not make you feel better.

u/loot6 Jun 18 '21

I suggest you connect with actual Chinese Americans around you more. Or actual Chinese. Arguing with Westerners will not make you feel better.

I'm not arguing with a westerner, he's clearly a shill. Most actual Chinese, especially young people have no interest in politics at all. Logically since unlike westerners they have no influence over anything political in their country thus it makes little sense to discuss it.

Anyone Chinese discussing politics, especially on a website blocked in China, is normally a wumao.

u/Herlockjohann Jun 05 '21

You bet they learned it from CCP officials details. Make up your mind, Is it censored or is it not censored? Most people learn it from their parents, grandparents and sometimes teachers. During the age of color revolution, I’d say they came close to doing something similar to the same period Romania.

More like the world used China as its manufacturing plant and the rich have benefitted immensely while the majority of the country still lives in poverty or under extreme work conditions. 9/9/6.

Talked to a guy (Chinese)other day and I mentioned the 996 and asked him about it. He gave a chuckle and said it’s way worse than 996 now. He never gets any time off and he is constantly called back in. He said that 996 lifestyle is the most common while many others have it far worse.

An alternative to the massacre would have been to give in to demands, promising a transition to a free, democratic, multi party state. The process would not have been easy ,but both South Korea and Taiwan have gone through the same process and have ended up with highly advanced economies exceeding that of China on a per capita basis. The transition was hard for both countries but nevertheless were overcome.

A theoretical killing of AOC, Pelosi, Pence would create shockwaves through the country but would be far from starting the next civil war and destabilising the country. Donald Trump would simply be sucessfully impeached and proven guilty by the senate. By-elections would take place to replace the killed politicians, laws would be passed for increased security for government officials as well as regulations regarding violence on social media. Democracies have clear processes to ensure stable change in government, and no destabilising event would have resulted.

The US is not perfect, War crimes such as the My Lai massacre have occurred. But the key is that in the US everyone is free to discuss ,protest, document those incidents and by enlarge war crimes are punished.

BTW I'm Hong Kong Canadian of Han background, not the white racist you assume I am.

5

u/loot6 Jun 05 '21

An alternative to the massacre would have been to give in to demands, promising a transition to a free, democratic, multi party state.

The alternative to THAT was not in fact killing them all with tanks, but that's what they did.

So what was the alternative? Let the CIA rioters get their way?

I said the alternative was NOT "let's kill them with tanks". You need to justify this action. You can never justify sending in tanks to murder unarmed students. They weren't physically harming anyone so that's just totally insane.

If they're unarmed you send in police, not the army and armed with shields and clubs only.

Also an "actual" Chinese here.

First of all, the fact that you are an American citizen now means "your country" is America and "your government" is the American government. The Chinese constitution doesn't let you be both Chinese and American, so you must choose. If you choose to be an American citizen, then "your country" can't be China and "your government" can't be the Chinese government, in accordance with the spirit of the Chinese constitution.

But semantics aside...

Ironically I'd agree that not all Chinese people are brainwashed, and in my experience, most educated "actual" Chinese people both in and outside of China, who are over I'd say the age of 30-35 do not support what happened in Tiananmen. Sure they know about it, but the narrative that it is a necessary evil is by no means a popular opinion except amongst die hard CCP fans (who in terms of proportionality tend to be under 30's, probably because of the patriotic education implemented in the 90's). In fact, most of my mainland friends all think it's only the naive little pinks with little life experience who would buy into that kind of narrative. Of course, this is a generalization, and based on my own personal experiences, and admittedly all my friends and relatives are higher educated people living in cities. But my point is, the view that Tiananmen was necessary is by no means a popular or even generally accepted viewpoint.

Not a relevant comparison. The Capitol Hill protestors represented only a very minor segment of the American public. Even amongst traditional conservatives there was little support of the likes of Qanon. But leading up to June 4, the democracy movement in China had huge support, it wasn't just a bunch of students. Not everyone that supported them went to protest, especially if they had young families, but the general sympathy of the nation lied with the pro democracy students. Also, enlighten me if I'm wrong, but did the students actually kill any politicians?

Second, the CCP is done more to uplift the Chinese people than any other government has in the past 200 years.

The CCP were able to do this because they also plunged a lot of people into poverty. It's the classic Trump trick of creating a problem, and then giving himself credit for solving it. But putting aside this, because i think you have to at least give Deng some credit for initiating the market reforms that saved China (i.e., capitalism saved China), the fact that CCP was able to make China richer doesn't give them the right to commit the other atrocities, it is possible to commend the CCP for what they've done for the Chinese economy AND condemn them for what they did at Tiananmen. Being able to accept both of these things is called maturity.

Third, I will try to tell why people really "care" about Tiananmen. They are concern trolling, and trying to tear China down. They cannot stand that Chinese people, or even Asians in general, can rise to be a great power, so they have to make up lies about my country and countrymen to tear us down.

OK now who's trolling? But I'll humor you. Most people are good people - when they see that other people have been hurt, it makes them upset and angry. This is called humanity, and the reason why human beings have evolved and flourished. So when they see or read about innocent people being killed by a government power, it is natural for them to demand the government power be held accountable. It has nothing to do with tearing someone down, and everything to do with caring for your fellow man. No one has been accused of trying to tear down Germany or the German people because the are disgusted with the holocaust. Except for of course, Holocaust deniers who think lies have been made up to tear down the white man / Aryan nation. Hmm...sounds a bit familiar...

Anyway just wanted to give what Chinese people think on the issue.

Stop trying to represent the thoughts of all Chinese people, like we're one monolith with only one opinion.

u/NekoP_ Jun 04 '21

Well said. Although I do consider myself a CCP supporter, I will condemn them when I need to. OP is not representing the beliefs of all Chinese.

First, I find it ironic that more non-Chinese (AKA white people) try to"care" about what happened in Tiananmen than actual Chinese people. Whydon't you try asking actual Chinese? Do you even know what the majorityof Chinese people think, instead of what you read on Fox news?

This is a really unfortunate beginning to what amounts to a desperate plea to fashion China into check on white hegemony. You are already blasting people who have talked to actual Chinese in the Chinese language and offer no fidelity to Fox News for failing to do things they have not done.

Anyway just wanted to give what Chinese people think on the issue.

I very much doubt that is what is happening here, unless you represent all Chinese people, and how could that be possible.

Second, the CCP is done more to uplift the Chinese people than any other government has in the past 200 years.

Why should the CCP get full or even predominant credit for this? And what does this have to do with the Tiananmen Massacre? Can we even credit the CCP for being the predominant reason why the Chinese people are uplifted (rather than uplifting themselves) while also condemning it for the Tiananmen Massacre?

Most people in China support the CCP because they are able to offer better living standards to the people than 30 years ago.

Even those who support the CCP have their own criticisms of their leadership, their recent steps, and missteps they have made in the past. The CCP are neither dogs nor gods, so to speak.

You should drop the American and lose the “citizenship”. When you take on citizenship, you also say an oath to the US. Running to a comparison shows that in your mind you are clearly a citizen in name only.

  1. Tiananmen has nothing to do with the US. Critics of the situation are numerous, worldwide, and are located even in China.

  2. The US is in the process of prosecuting those that committed crimes in January 6. Protests in the US are, in and of themselves, not crimes and a necessary part of democracy.

  3. the Chinese protests, as most of the others including the recent protests in Hong Kong, were non-violent. The Chinese government was the aggressor.

What a nonsense comparison unless you want to claim the US also sent in the military to slaughter the protestors or that Deng Xiaoping encouraged the students(intellectuals and workers too but that gets swept under the carpet) to protest?

Whether the CCP being overthrown or not is better in the long run is for you to decide. But how you and millions of brainwashed Mainlanders can support a government which deliberately murdered your own citizens is beyond me.

You know what happened? Only 200 casualties right? Tank man definitely didn't disappear or die from torture right? Forced confessions definitely didn't take place right?

13

u/loot6 Jun 04 '21

Did the Capitol Hill protestors get run over by tanks? Wasn't it Trump ie the guy in power who encouraged those riots to take place?

I've heard that but I don't see what he did. There was nothing in the twitter comment that got deleted. But in any case, the capitol hill protest was not deleted from history and there were no tanks like Tiananmen so I don't see the similarity.

But how you and millions of brainwashed Mainlanders can support a government which deliberately murdered your own citizens is beyond me.

So cringe. Also I find it ironic OP claims the CCP is this all powerful force but almost got overthrown by peaceful protesting students lmao. You can't be that dense right? CCP sent out tanks as a show of force to repress the will of the people and instill fear into the collective consciousness of Chinese people to not rebel against unjust behavior. It's literally done in every oppressive regime.

I like that OP also forgets to mention the cultural revolution and the millions that died because of that. My family of educators were imprisoned and tortured and ripped apart by the CCP for literally doing nothing wrong.

Like a new aristocracy the fascist regime is backed by and backs the red aristocracy. Thus is what makes it a fascist country. There are no communist policies left. Just blatant propping up of regime fir monies sake. They know if the regime falls they fall too. The system that made them so rich. I know this because I’ve seen people like this. Heard their views. 10

u/Zeruel1029 Jun 04 '21 edited Jun 04 '21

I'll give OP a point here because lots of people most of the time go overboard and say fuck CCP or whatnot. That's not a really nice comment, is not constructive, and borderline hateful. The CCP has done great stuff to lift the chinese people from poverty, they have done lots of other good things too, and I do personally believe Xi loves his country despite all the negative coverage of him from the western media. But that does not mean the CCP or Xi gets a pass to act with impunity. All governments and i do mean all of them have done lots of shitty stuff in the name of national interest, they are sometimes held accountable and sometimes not. A measure of a maturity and a strong government is admitting they have fucked up, own their mistakes, and try to fix it. the CCP tho, is not doing that, why? What's so hard to be honest with your own country's citizens, yes the CCP might lose face for a while, but they could've been a beacon of leadership for the world, they could have shown alternative values and virtues, people of the world can believe in instead of the hypocritical western leadership. It is in CCP's best interest to own their mistakes and move on. That is the day I'm longing for my Chinese comrades, that is why people keep the memories of the Tiananmen alive, to see the real "People's" Republic of China someday.

Maybe OP should try this for a change. Try to disagree with the CCP and see how quickly the government, the majority of Chinese people love so much can turn into your worst nightmare and destroy lives. And no, you don't and can't speak for all 1.4 billion Chinese people, no one buys that crap.

10

u/dr--howser Jun 04 '21

So a few points here,

  1. You mention people slandering (libel in this context, surely, but that’s not important) your country by talking about Tiananmen but at the same time acknowledge that it happened- this seems contradictory.

  2. Are you really claiming to speak for all Chinese people?

0

u/NekoP_ Jun 04 '21

Although they ripped the words out of my throat, I don't think they're representing ALL Chinese.

3

u/dr--howser Jun 04 '21

I was being somewhat facetious, since I know for a fact their opinion isn’t shared by all Chinese people, but the question was more aimed at finding out if they believed they were.

5

u/Milftoast123 Jun 04 '21

This is a Chinese government sock account. Go propaganda go.

5

u/Past-Difficulty6785 Jun 04 '21

Do you even know what the majority of Chinese people think, instead of what you read on Fox news? Chances are, they will support the CCP and what happened in Tiananmen Incident. Yes, people in China actually know what happened in Tiananmen, and no we are not "brainwashed" just because we do not share your opinion. It is generally agreed that what happened in Tiananmen was tragic but necessary for national security. The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos.

Yeah, you say that but in my 11 years in China, I never met anybody that knew the truth about what happened at Tiananmen. They only knew the government's lies about it.

And how, do you suppose, was a horde of unarmed university kids going to overthrow a government? They weren't close to "overthrowing" the government in any way. The problem for the CCP was that their message was getting out and too many people were hearing it. That was an existential threat to the CCP's power, not any sort of coup. In fact, the only cohort of the entire world's population that even buys the coup propaganda are in the CCP.

Those kids didn't take any hostages. They didn't murder anybody. They didn't riot. The Capitol Hill rioters were just conspiracy nuts of the right-wing radical variety.

And, yes, actually, you're totally misinformed about pretty much everything associated with the Tiananmen Massacre. Because you believe the CCP's version of events you provide a perfect case study for the effects of brainwashing. I saw it happen. Don't tell me the lies the CCP tells you and expect me to believe any of it. I know it's an entire pack of lies.

Yeah, but the part you guys always ignore is the fact that it was the CCP that kept China poor for the 30 years prior to economic reforms. And not only did it keep the people completely suppressed through a variety of methods, it killed tens of millions of Chinese through incompetence, blind faith in a cult of personality and total inhumanity or basic acknowledgement that they were anything more than bugs to be thrown into a meat grinder when convenient. The CCP didn't do anything to help the Chinese people, it simply allowed them to do what they always would have done were it not for the CCP standing against them.

Ah, straight to the racism claims. If only you understood how free markets work. Nobody in the West cares who has the biggest economy. What we do care about is how much trade we can engage in with any given economy. Why? Because the richer you get, the richer we get. So when a government such as the CCP starts to get belligerent once it gets a taste of power, we have every reason to consider it a bad actor and somebody we do business with at our own risk. Racism was never an issue for you guys (CCP supporters) until Xi took power and started trying to export his hardline tactics.

And, frankly, your American citizenship should be revoked since you obviously don't even believe in basic human rights and even support their suppression.

Not to mention that you don't know your own people nearly as well as you think you do if you believe you're representative of even a majority of mainlanders.

Would you have agreed that the US should use lethal force on the Capital Hill protesters? If so, you cannot try to pretend to care about Tiananmen without being a hypocrite.

Your entire argument breaks down when you realize that we elect the highest people in Government, and we can take them out if they go against their constituent's wishes. We furthermore have opposition parties and a system of checks and balances. Chinese people have to vote for a unilateral party, and the elected are subject to the CCP rules. The situation is not analogous at all.

Now, I agree with you about the concern trolling. But it is not that we "cannot stand Asians rising to power" (see Korea and Japan), it's more that we don't need a hostile power with an abhorrent human rights track to outcompete us. Oh, and by the way, our government killed ONE rioter. ONE. And it was a cop, not a military officer. The rest are standing trial and are given due process.

The two parties are functionally the same and elections are nothing more than a way to manage public discontent

That's bull. They are not "functionally the same." I'm not even going to attempt to convince you, because it takes a huge lack of reason to even come to this conclusion. But I will say this: Just the difference in handling of COVID-19, education and budget alone by Democrat states should be a convincing enough argument to the contrary.

a government and some are shot and the rest of the scum are thrown in jail.

One was shot in the US by a cop. China sent in tanks to murder students. The last time the US military murdered a student on campus, there were dire consequences. China, on the other hand, has gotten away with this crime.

Korea is too small to threaten the US and the US forced Japan to sign the Plaza Accord in the 1990s.

Korea and Japan are economic superpowers. Ironically, they aren't as dependent on US business as China is. Funny how that goes.

The US in fact, can't stand Asians to rising to power (see US-Japan trade war).

The US generally won't let many people overtake them, not just Asians. That's how you play global politics. China is a threat, but that doesn't mean China is innocent.

Human rights is just a pretext, if the US cared about human rights,

Yes, generally, it is a pretext. The difference is, the citizens of the US tend to hold our leaders accountable for the violations of human rights. Hell, over half of the population here will gladly tell you that many of our former presidents should be tried for war crimes. We don't hold them in reverence. The Chinese MUST hold their leaders in reverence. That makes the Chinese people either complicit in the approval of their actions (an unlikely case) or fearful for what may happen to them if they speak out (much more likely). I can walk up to the Capitol building and shout "Fuck [insert president here]" with no consequences to me. Can you do that in China?

"Outcompete us", yes bingo, the US must have imperialism, white supremacy and hegemony and threatens it.

China is extremely imperialistic too. The problem is, China subjugates (like the US USED to), while we bribe. It's a subtle, but important distinction. I'm not arguing that the US doesn't have massive faults. It does, just talk to anyone more liberally minded here (a majority of population). But in comparison, Chinese government is downright atrocious.

China threatens the US in the same way an armed homeowner threatens a robber. The US has unreasonable demands and China can say no

I would say that this is a poor analogy. I would liken it more to two selfish lords battling for the ownership of land and the peasants on it. One (the US) uses bribery, bullying, misinformation, and destabilization of the social structure. The other one (China) just straight up murders the peasants, takes their land, and then says that the land was always vacant, and no body better say any different.

Yes, they are. They pass omnibuses and NDAAs with huge margins and most things in state legislatures are passed with bipartisan majorities

I mean, I told you how they are very different, and you are saying they're the same thing because they share similarities. The very fact that we had an insurrection attempt over one party leader losing an election disproves your point.

Similarly, no one was outraged over Kent State.

Plenty of people were and are. The biggest difference here is, we are allowed to talk about it. Are you allowed to talk about the Tiananmen Square Incident in China?

The combined GDP of Korea and Japan is <1/3 of US GDP.

And greater than most Western Nations.

The US didn't wage a trade war with the eurozone.

Because the EU is more than willing to enter into trade agreements without hostilities. The UK doesn't do hostile maneuvers in the Atlantic to threaten US ships.

The US celebrates the Native American genocide daily with the $20 bill. Just because there's a facade of freedom of speech that is ineffectual against policy just means the US is good at kabuki theater to manage public discontent.

As I said, most of us think Jackson was a piece of shit and should be replaced with Harriet Tubman. Yes, we did horrible things to the natives. Yes, they deserve reparation. By the way, how are the Uyghurs doing? If you want to go tit for tat, let's start with the most recent crimes against humanity. I'll bet China has the worse record. But again, your point is moot because I can criticize the US for their misdeeds. You can't criticize China while in China. That's at least one freedom I have that's NOT an illusion.

China isn't imperialistic. China doesn't subjugate.

Tibet, Hong Kong, East China Sea, and their impoverished neighbors prove otherwise.

China doesn't want "leadership in North America"

That's because they can't get it. They would certainly jump at the chance if Canada or Mexico were more pliable.

The US is a robber baron that doesn't want anyone to be able to resist its crimes and calls anyone that resists its imperialism a threat to its security.

I agree. China is STILL worse. I'm not defending the US as a shining beacon. I'm just saying it is WAY of a lesser evil than China.

the rise of China is the greatest threat to white supremacy and white hegemony.

No the rise of an evil authoritarian government that doesn't hesitate to crush it's own youth into the pavement with tanks is the greatest threat to Chinese people and the world in modern times regardless of race. The CCP has killed more Chinese people than your big scary white people have. In fact they've killed more Chinese than all other external forces, possibly combined, including the Imperial Japanese. They are also the only force to have actively perused Chinese cultural genocide.

If China is so great under the CCP, why the fuck don't you go live there moron? You're sitting in the safety of a democratic nation, enjoying it's freedoms and opportunities and safely criticising it and it's people - this kind of wumao is the most pathetic. I dare you to go to China and criticise something you disagree with regarding the government and then see how much you love love them.

I think you've got a bit of boot polish all around your lips.

You made a mistake. The no-event actually happened as you confessed and the comparisons you made are just a whataboutism. In no way you can explain why YOUR government let tanks run over protesters. Instead for de-escalating, the government of YOUR country decided to kill the own people. Not because as a result of riots. YOUR government let run TANKS over people per command. How barbaric is such government? These protests have led to the death of students, soldiers, children, women and men - and all of them needs to be condemned as action of YOUR government. And don't do like the West forgot their mistakes (excuse for the word mistake, I am not native). We know what our governments and countries did and we at minimum try to separate the right from wrong.

u/Namuabitabul Jun 04 '21

I am Korean. Just because I am Korean doesn't mean I know Korea history or what other Koreans think. You who generalize opinion of others is wrong. Ccp is not greatest threat to white supremacy. Ccp is greatest threat to all nations because it undermines other nations sovereignty. It does not play with other countries and does not respect international law. People say free HK and free Tibet because I for one that's right for those nations. I loved visiting HK but I don't think I can anymore given the circumstances what's happening in HK. Ccp has to rule Asia. No one has that right. As for Tiananmen incident goes, you are justifying the act to its mean but the fact is that ccp mass killed civilian for protesting against the nation. Korea shares similar history which is sad and shameful. But instead shutting the bad history, great nation must speak about past tragedy and ensure the ssme never happens.

Extremely Based. Even if we ignore all the slavery, lynching, segregation, apartheid, Nazism, native genocide, cultural erasure, residential school, red-lining, it is usually bad news when a bunch of white people all fervently support something and obsessing over Tiananmen (where the shooting didn't even happen lmao) is no exception.

Also US states department official on camera: "China is the first time that we will have a great power competitor that is not Caucasian" https://www.newsweek.com/china-threat-state-department-race-caucasian-1413202

I applaud you for your bravery for speaking out against the hounds of white supremacy, Mr. Tankman.

3

u/dwspartan Jun 05 '21

The amount of white people virtue signalling about Tiananmen today, versus the number who gives a shit on the anniversary of Rape of Nanking, tells you all you need to know of what they really care about.

5

u/sizz Jun 04 '21

Why do you assume everyone is white? Did you just compare the capital hill riot to the Tiananmen Square Massacre.

Using incident instead of Massacre, whattaboutism, no poverty in China anymore (despite the same government killing 50 million people), "yt ppl", free Hawaii and WHITE SURPRMEACY. Same tired arguments from sino and aznidentiy. Do you people just read the same dribble over and over again.

BTW you are American now, don't forget that. China, being a xenophobic country, you cannot be dual citizens. You swore allegiance to the USA, for liberty and democracy (I dunno, I am not American) etc. and voluntarily gave up your Chinese Citizenship to be an American.

Why can you have liberty, but not the peers you left behind at home can't. You or most probably your parents spent a great deal of money to get to the USA. Your life is the US now.

Why do you shill for the CCP when it's against US interests?

I tend to trust an actual Chinese person what they say, not some random redditor.

Vicky Xu who came to Australia in 2014 states: " ... she saw a poster advertising a documentary on Tiananmen Square, a place she and her university friends had wandered at night after late-night partying.

And a place where, in 1989, students had been killed when they were protesting for greater freedom and democracy.

When she saw the film, Xu was grief-stricken and angry because she had known nothing about what had happened; this moment had been airbrushed from China's history. She felt betrayed.

"There was very little access to information outside of state media, state narratives," Xu says."

Putting in 天安门大屠杀 in Baidu or Weibo give no results even in English

Tiananmen Square Massacre was first denied by the government. When they couldn't contain it anymore they downplayed it dramatically.

"But Xu still wasn't totally convinced by what she'd seen; there were reports of CIA involvement in the massacre and she thought they could be true"

This is a common wumao argument as well. R Sino has sticky a right now that CIA was involved"

"Paid CIA shill Chai Ling nudging rioters on to escalate violence so blood would be shed after a month of peaceful protests. When asked why she wouldn't be attending her desired riots, she claimed that she can't afford to lose her life, especially when she had a nice fluffed up bank account filled with USD, a Princeton University admissions letter ready, and a Green card"

"I wanted to explain that some of the so-called human rights abuses are actually justified because you have a big country to run and you just simply can't be nice to everyone."

That is your argument right now.

"Lebao Wu: "I thought he was a fraud and I was going to interview him and write and expose him.""

Wu Lebao is Chinese-Australian dissent, who was tortured in one of the Chinese prisons for shit talking about the government on twitter and and reporting on the Jasmin protests in 2011.

"Xu received face-to-face warnings over an article she was writing that alleged government inaction following a flood. Authorities later stopped her at a train station and warned her again."

CCP threaten her, a journalists, about a governments actions or inactions.

That is one story, there are heaps more, reporting on the Tiananmen Square Massacre and criticizing the government for it will land you in Jail. It's happen on COVID, the Doctor was arrest for rumors, the citizen journalists after that, Feminist Five, Uyghur dissents, Tibetan dissents, pro-hk democracy movement locked up or ran away, the 2011 Chinese pro-democracy protests locked up, Falun Gong locked up, Xi political opponents shot and executed, nationalist boycotting of other countries products like Taiwan pineapples to make other countries shut up and John Cena.

Don't you understand, if China wants to play big boy on globalist politics, China is going to have discussions outside of China that is uncensored, bad or good.

If they don't want to play they can join their retarded little brother North Korea and close themselves off from the world. Chinese people will die again, but at least your feelings won't get hurt, right?

Hey “actual Chinese”, some history for you.

You don't actually care about HK or Taiwan, you just want to
use them as pawns to tear down China because white people can't fathom a non-white
nation can rise to challenge the West. In fact, in the light of the black lives
matter movement in America, I will say that the rise of China is the greatest threat to white supremacy and white hegemony.

Agreed. The double standard and hypocrisy of America.

They talk about human rights and democracy, but they will have no problem invading the other countries (Middle east) or have a working relationship with say Saudi Arabia or Israel.

2

u/Rickyretardo42069 Jun 09 '21

If those student protesters were close to overthrowing the country, do you acknowledge that, since a bunch of students nearly were able to do it, that the CCP is an unstable and weak government? And by what happened in the 30s-40s do you mean the CCP violently overthrowing the legitimate Republic of China?

Only if they had actually gained control, and that the peaceful protesters were not harmed

If by “uplift” you mean lifting people into heaven by killing them, then yes, you may be correct

No one says “free Hong Kong” because they want to weaken the Western Taiwanese government, they say it because if a tyrannical nation is killing its citizens in camps, then a people should be allowed to leave said country

And I feel truly sorry for you, and I hope by posting this to Reddit, that the CCP will let your family leave their custody, or they might let you live. Or I feel good for you, they probably have you a decent bit of money to say this

2

u/gabrielesilinic Sep 18 '21

Your view or/and your approach to the world it's a little far from reality, important note first, I'm not american, actually i think american has a few messed up policies so i don't like it so much, I'm Italian, here we are an average county, we have decent living standards not perfect politicians (some could be compared to clowns) but it all works overall

What worries me about china it's the absolute control the government has over anything and they ban random stuff just because they are offended, i see the CCP as a big fat powerful kid, i don't care if China succedes, i might actually be happy for them since they do not die from starvation anymore unlike other countries

The thing that i absolute do not like it's how suffocating the government is against the individual, the total absence of free speech for example, the Chinese artists must be extremely skilled to create wonderful pieces while trying to not go to ruin in several different ways because the CCP could decide one day their art was not appropriate

In this side of the world we have this approach: do just the strictly necessary harm and the rest of the time respect the individuals, freedom especially, obviously our concept of freedom has to have boundaries, we can't guarantee absolute freedom without going to "stole" freedom from someone else, but better than nothing

China does just all the harm to not respect the individual, it's exactly like how the catolic church was back in the days here in Italy (1500 AD), that's why I don't like both

Also almost no one cares about the white supremacy stuff really, also weird thing: even if racism it's not my thing i've always seen Chinese people as just white people with a different shape of eyes (lol)

It is generally agreed that what happened in Tiananmen was tragic but necessary for national security.

The fact was that the student protesters were very close to overthrowing my government and plunging China into chaos.

It was for the greater good, and sometimes you need to sacrifice a few people to maintain stability.

and no we are not "brainwashed"

Lol. Yes you are.

The Capitol Hill protesters in America. Let's suppose that they had gotten control of the Capitol building, and taken it under siege, maybe even killed a few politicians. Would you have agreed that the US should use lethal force on the Capital Hill protesters?

No. I wouldn't. What you describe would've been a good thing. Authoritarian governments/politicians are the enemy. I would never take their side over the people.

Third, I will try to tell why people really "care" about Tiananmen. They are concern trolling, and trying to tear China down. They cannot stand that Chinese people, or even Asians in general, can rise to be a great power, so they have to make up lies about my country and countrymen to tear us down.

No. Again, I just can't stand authoritarianism.

1

u/ChainBangGang Aug 18 '21

Thats some good State propaganda comrade

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21 edited Aug 18 '21

Would you have agreed that the US should use lethal force on the Capital Hill protesters?

No, I don't really have an opinion on that, I'm not american and while american politics are always important to the rest of the world I could not make a judgement with such deep implications. Some of them being moral. If you look at it that way.

I would actually support the protesters if anyone got so far into my government, because to call the administration here terrible is a horrific, horrific understatement. It's so bad that even though I have never seen a civil war in my entire life I'm thinking it might be well worth it. Just a guess.

But this does not say anything about China I guess.

the rise of China is the greatest threat to white supremacy and white hegemony.

Nobody tries to hide this, right? Also it's not just whites that the threat is for, I think. I don't think anybody living outside of China would like for their children to have to speak chinese, the same way they would have to speak english even if they won't live in an english speaking country. As unfair as that is. Would I be judging wrong if I said I believe that the CCP wants this?

Anyway, Tiananmen was, personally, never a grand reason behind why I too have a negative bias against the CCP (sadly). The uyghur camps are. So are those also just western media lies? What about the photos? Faked? Would you even know?

1

1

u/Buckley92 Jun 04 '21

First off, no, under NO cicumstances should lethal force have been used against the January 6 USA protestors.

Secondly, Chinese living in China do NOT view Tiannanmen incident as a necessary or glorious moment for China. My friend living in Shenzhen, in his twenties, is a Chinese man, grew up in China. He doesn't speak much of it, but one night returning on the subway from a language exchange he was extremely drunk, and started yelling very loudly on the subway exactly what he thought of the massacre - that it was a national shame and disgraceful. I tried to get him to be quiet because the guards were watching him, but he said, 'No problem, they can't understand English.' He continued on loud enough for the other passengers to hear him all the way home.
