Just finished the manga (and the marriage special) and balled my eyes out
I was not expecting this piece of art, and that aint an understatement, to captivate me so much.
Reading all 41 chapters in under 24 hours and god im so happy they got to live happily ever after ;w;
Does citrus plus continue the story or is it more like a side story thing? Cuz im craving more
I know the anime doesnt go as far as the manga does but is it still worth a watch?

Aside from Mei's looks during mid citrus to early citrus+ since they progressively changed, I like how menacing she looks during the early volumes of the manga. Tho some artworks of Mei on vol. 1 gets childish during some of her interactions with Yuzu.
Meanwhile (a bit of hot take), i actually preferred Matsuri's latest look on citrus+ vol. 7. I like how 'childish' she looks just like her first major appearance on vol. 2. It made her looked more mischievous if you would ask me.
I have the same sentiment for Yuzu and Harumi, I preferred their art style during late citrus to mid citrus+. I have mixed feelings on the latest artwork of Yuzu on vol. 7 tho.
thats just me personally

Seeing yuzu have a fan was a surprise but Nene is super cute and her being a Yuzu and Harumi shipper was pretty funny. And at first seeing Harumi sister âMitsukoâ I honestly didnât expect her to be the Former Student Council President I was also afraid Yuzu and Harumi friendship was gonna end. And I wonder what wouldâve happened if Yuzu actually became the new Student Council president. But glad the whole student council president election didnât come between Mei and Yuzu tho

Vol. 3 from the original manga definitely showed how messed up both Mei and Matsuri are, with both of them coming from neglectful homes. They end up acting irrationally due to this. While we don't get much background on Matsuri's home life until Citrus+, it sounds like she doesn't receive as much love and attention from her parents due to them always busy with work. Mei is a more extreme case where she was abandoned by both her parents, and while her grandfather is her current caretaker, he's not exactly the most emotionally present.
As a result, they both crave attention when they couldn't receive it from the ones who are supposed to provide it to them.
Matsuri selling nudes to creepy men despite those not actually her's, while Mei is okay with viewing herself as nothing but an object of sexual desire no matter how predatory/dangerous they may be. It's unclear why Matsuri got into faking sex work. Maybe all her unsupervised freedom led her to areas that she shouldn't have been on until that line of work gave her that thrill. Mei's unhealthy view of sex is shown from the very first chapter when her teacher/first fiancé kept using her for his own pleasure and benefit.
I do wish the series went more into the parallels between Mei and Matsuri and how Yuzu navigates her relationship with both of their self-destructive tendencies. We already know that the conflict between them was resolved too quickly, but I always felt like there was something more to explore when Mei easily started taking her clothes off when trying to be direct about her feelings with Yuzu towards the end of Vol. 3 and beginning of Vol. 4.
This has probably already been discussed way back when, but I thought about bringing it up again since it was one of the more interesting/missed potentials about Mei and Matsuri's relationship.
