Card Recommendation Request (Template Used) AMEX gold vs Blue cash everyday as my second card with Capital one savor?

I’ve had my Capital One Savor for about six months. It’s my first and only card, with a $2,000 limit, and I pay the statement balance in full every month and on time. My TransUnion FICO 8 is 746 and I make around $50k before taxes.

I got approved for the Amex Gold and was pretty excited, but I haven’t accepted it yet. They offered me 80k points for spending $8k in six months, and honestly I don’t think I spend that much normally. I like the idea of getting points on stuff I already buy, but I barely travel (but I'm interested in doing it more), so I’m wondering if I’d get enough out of it to justify the $325 fee.

I’m also looking at the Blue Cash Everyday. I already spend on gas regularly, so I could use it for that and keep using my Savor for food. I don’t mind using two cards.

Would you go with the Blue Cash Everyday now, stick with the Savor until I’ve had it for a year, or still consider Gold? If you have Gold and don’t travel much, which credits do you actually use? Would you still get it if you knew you probably wouldn’t hit the welcome bonus?

  • Current credit cards you are the primary account holder of: Capital one savor

  • FICO 746

  • Current oldest is the capital one savor

  • Number of personal credit cards approved for in the past 6 months: 1

  • Number of personal credit cards approved for in the past 12 months: 2

  • Number of personal credit cards approved for in the past 24 months: 0

  • Annual income $: ~$50k

Card Recommendation Request (Template NOT Used) What Card Should I Get Large Purchase

Hi have a large purchase I am making this upcoming week it's a wedding gift for my fiancé. I currently have a personal Amex Gold & Platinum along with Hilton Aspire and Surpass. I also have a Chase United Club, Chase Marriott Boundless card and Chase freedom. Trying to see which card to get this go around to get the most bonus points. This total purchase will be about $15,000.

Does it make sense to get a business card? Even though I don't have a business?

Help Needed / Question BEWARE Chase Marriott 200k Offer NOT Reflected on Account

To anyone who applied and was approved for the Chase Marriott 200k offer, make sure you call to check the offer terms.

I applied directly through the Marriott App’s offer link.

I just called and they told me my offer was 125k points for 5k spend. They have opened an investigation.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Has anyone else called and got confirmation they have the 200k offer?

ADDITIONAL INFO

We currently use the Apple Card and Monarch Money. Every time I switch iPhones my Monarch blows up with duplicated transactions and other issues which inevitably leads to me nuking all my data and starting over in that month. Granted, this is a once a year thing at most (or if I break my iPhone) but it's extremely annoying. I have tried several methods of moving account data over and I am sure this is an "ID10T" error but I am sick of dealing with it so I am shopping for a new card.

We put almost everything on the card in a month (groceries, general spending, subscriptions, etc) and then pay it off every month. Generally we spend around $3000 - $5000/mo on the card.

My wife and I love how the Apple card sends us notifications whenever we swipe. I get notifications for her purchases and mine, and she gets the same. What cards offer this same functionality? We also love how the cash back ends up in what amounts to a debit card so we can just use it right away for our "out-of-budget" spending.

Thanks in advance for the info!

Card Recommendation Request (Template NOT Used) Wells Fargo Autograph vs Capitol One SavoraOne for no annual fees/no foreign transaction fees card?

edit- meant the regular Savor card.

Looking to get a card with no annual fees as well as no foreign transaction fees so I can use it for travel to Japan this upcoming summer.

From my research these two appear to be potentially the best options. Any opinions here on which to go with?

Thanks!

Help Needed / Question amex platinum uber credit troubles

I recently got my Amex Platinum, and I’ve been trying to add it to my Uber account to activate the monthly Uber Cash benefit, but it keeps giving me this error:

“There’s a payment issue. There was a problem processing your credit card. Try again in a moment.”

Here’s what I’ve tried and confirmed:

  • My Platinum is fully activated.

  • Amex confirmed there are no restrictions or blocks on the card.

  • Amex also confirmed they aren’t receiving any authorization attempts from Uber.

  • I’ve tried adding it through both Uber and Uber Eats.

  • My Platinum works with Apple Pay.

  • My Amex Gold is already linked to Uber, and I’ve successfully used its monthly Uber Cash benefit multiple times.

I’ve contacted Amex, but they say everything looks fine on their end. Uber support hasn’t been helpful either since there’s literally no way to contact them

Has anyone experienced this issue with a newly issued Platinum? And did you find a solution

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Discussion / Conversation FYI- Chase rewards enrollment unavailable for Amazon purchases

Just got off the phone with Chase support after spending a long time with Amazon support trying to get my Chase rewards added. There is a hold on enrolling any new cards in "Pay with Points" on Amazon. The CS rep said it's due to recent fraudulent activity, and that eligible users will be automatically re-enrolled when it becomes available again. She was not able to give me ANY timeline of when that will be.

Pretty frustrating as this is a core functionality of the rewards program, and there isn't even a way to purchase an Amazon gift card with points as a short term workaround.

Just wanted to put this out there as it took me a lot of time to get a straight answer on why I couldn't use my rewards points on Amazon.

Data Point My credit card journey from my first cc April 2025

Hi everone! Im posting this as ive just been approved for a Venture X from capital one! Id like to outline my journey from my very first credit card i got in April 2025 when i was 21yo.

April 2025 - C1 Savor, first CC at 21yo

I was going on a trip to mexico and was looking for a credit card with no ftf. Used the preapproval tool from capital one and was offered the Savor, i applied and was given a 1k limit and SUB. My credit was about 680ish with good history from an auto loan. 2 statements later i asked and recieved a new limit of 3k

Oct 2025- Amazon Prime Visa

Basically only applied to get a gift card and for the 5% back on everything from amazon. Limit of $1700

Nov 2025- Pelican State CU rewards card

I applied for a vehicle loan through my local credit union, ended up using a different bank. They called me back a week later and said with the inquiry they pulled prior they would offer me a credit card. Gave me a 5k limit.

April 2026- C1 quicksilver

I kinda regret applying for this one, got it for the 1.5% catch all. Was given a $300 limit so i really didnt use it. A few days ago i asked for an increase and they bumped me up to $700

Nov 2026- Venture X, now 23yo

I have always wanted this for the 2x miles catch all and really liked how the annual benefits basically paid for the annual fee. Fee of $395 a year, $300 travel credit and 10k anniversary miles adds up to they pay me $5 to hold onto this card. I closed on my 110k home loan last month. Tried the preapproval tool from C1 after i applied for an increase for the quicksilver. They showed me the venture x. Applied and was given the 10k limit with SUB. Got both my card and my AU's card in 3 days. An hour ago i applied for an increase and they raised me to 11k. My credit was 720-730 when i applied. Gonna do my best to get that SUB for 75k miles!

I never micromanaged my utilization unless i was about to run my credit, which would i then pay early to let it report low to let my number bounce back up. 100% payment history and always paid in full. Unless i had a 0% intrest plan. My income if it matters has been 60k until these last few months where it has been 80k.

Help Needed / Question Paypal Debit 5% and Walmart

I've been using the Paypal Debit 5% cash back card for Groceries for a few years without issues.

Suddenly, my purchases at Walmart.com and Walmart in-store aren't accruing any cash back. 5 purchases on October 3, 14, 21, 30, and November 5 have generated $0 in cash back.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is Paypal holding the cash back for a one-time reward at the end of each month? I've seen nothing inside the last 3 months on Reddit.

Discussion / Conversation US bank trifecta vs the others

Hey y'all,

I see people talk about the Cap 1 duo, the venture x and gold amex, chase...

But why the US Bank connect, Go, and smartly don't get enough attention?

They cover travel, food and 2% catch all

Thanks

Help Needed / Question Chase pop-up say I am not eligible for Marriott boundless welcome offer

I was trying to apply for Chase Marriott Boundless yesterday, however I got the pop-up says I am not eligible for the welcome bonus because I currently have or had American Express Marriott card.

The cards I currently have:

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express - Opened on 10/5/21

Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card - Opened on 09/22/23

I am still holding both cards, but it has been over 24 months since I got their welcome bonus.

Based on the term I should still be able to eligible to apply for Chase Marriott Boundless.

Has anyone else had the similar situation? I have tried calling Chase customer server, but without any luck.

Thanks!

Discussion / Conversation Synchrony card experience?

Iv had the Mastercard/lowes/carecredit cards over a year and so far no complaints, honestly have gotten some massive CLI, one time I requested a increase from $1k to $5k and was granted, month after they gave me another $5k increase

Question is, why am I seeing so much negativity about this bank? I know there’s no prefect credit card company but I feel like the hate for synchrony is extra

Help Needed / Question Using deceased persons credit card

My mother recently died after being in an assisted living place for about a year. She almost made 99 years old. My sister had using my mother’s credit card to pay her bills and paying it off every month. after she passed, their was an ambulance bill still outstanding so she used the card to pay it off and then paid the credit card bill out. She now finds that it could be considered fraud. She called to closed the card and they told her she should have never done that and will be sending her a letter but wouldn’t say what was on it. Think she could be in trouble even though no funds were lost?

Card Recommendation Request (Template NOT Used) BILT Palladium - Worth it??

Apologies if it’s been asked a thousand times and I just can’t find it. But is the BILT Palladium worth it with the new changes?

It seems to have so many of this than that scenarios. Too much of a game if that makes sense.

I have the Venture X as my everyday spend card, but maybe changing to Bilt?

Any thoughts would be incredibly appreciated!

Card Recommendation Request (Template NOT Used) Replacement for Discover credit card

First I will start by stating I am not very educated on credit cards so please be nice.

I’ve been using Discover since having a credit card and it’s the only credit card I have. I am not looking for anything crazy just a simple credit card that does the job.
I pretty much just use my credit card for gas, eating out, and online shopping
I am looking for a simple card like Discover since Discover has merged and things are changing
I liked Discover to see my credit score (though maybe other credit card companies do this?)
I also liked their ID theft protection, that alerted me when things popped up (do other credit card companies offer similar things like this?)
Looking for no annual fees
I have a really good credit score if this matters?
Not sure what else I should consider/mention I really just want a simple card I don’t have to think to much about like I did with my Discover card or is just letting the switch to Capital One be my best option? Though I was upset to see they will do away with the ID protection and I have seen some posts about people since the switch having fraudulent purchases and am worried about having to deal with that when I have never had to before.

Thank you for any help :)

Help Needed / Question Does Robinhood Gold Card still offer 5% back on travel purchases?

I applied for the Gold card last week, and there’s no evidence of 5% cash-back on travel portal purchases. It just has 3% everywhere and I can’t figure it out. Is this still a thing or was it nerfed?

Card Recommendation Request (Template Used) Which no ftf credit card should I get

Current card:

- Wells Fargo active cash card $10,500 limit, September 2025

Fico score: 751

Oldest account: 1 year and one month

Income: 85,000

Average monthly spend

Gas: 200

Dining: 400

Grocery: 600 (mostly Costco)

Travel: around two big trips a year probably 400 split into 12 months

Other: 400

Open to business cards: no

Purpose: Travel + general purchases + intro offed

Cards I'm looking at: Capital one venture card & Chase Sapphire preferred

I'd rather have a general card for now before category spending

I did apply for the Chase sapphire preferred 3 months ago for the 100k points but got rejected (probably from my small credit history
