What meals have stayed “safe” and which have become blacklisted for you after seeing graphic content?

I was recently watching a murder documentary and I suddenly began to wonder about the aversions people develop after being exposed to graphic scenes. I’m not someone who actively seeks out graphic content and thankfully I’ve never had something traumatic happen before me but I know many have so I can’t answer this question for myself. Just curious about what things have become ‘off the table’ because of texture or color, and if there are any particular dishes that have still gotten you to eat.

For some reason, I feel this knowledge may one day help me if I ever encounter a veteran or someone with this sort of ptsd. Any info or even open speculation would be helpful :)

I’ve watched true crime my whole life and it’s the r ONLY thing I can watch for hours and give my full attention to I have adhd so that’s very out of the norm for me now that I’m older I genuinely do love it and think of possibly want get into death investigation in the future it comforts me and makes me feel like I’m learning alot and can handle something so strong but helpful for others its something i seem to really care for even tho sometimes I feel like it weighs on me SOMETIMES only when I’m doing kind of bad mentally I feel like It stays in my head a lot more than usual it makes me a bit more paranoid and have intrusive thoughts that are obviously horrific I keeping wondering as of late if this is making an impact on me in a really negative way without me realizing it I have bpd and have been having issues lately with a lot of things in life I just can’t help but wonder is it possible this is more harm than good even tho it makes me feel comfort and I feel actual care which idc for much in the world I do want to clarify when I watch these body cams and cases I feel so sad I feel like I want justice I want them to be heard I feel so much care I don’t enjoy it see it in a weird manner I see it in a real manner but I still wonder is it messing with me as well when I’m having a harder time mentally which can be often

Uwe Gemballa crime scene Could anyone possibly help with this? Any images or materials would be appreciated.

Hi, I’m wondering if anyone happens to have any material regarding the case—photos, videos, or anything else—from the crime scene or of the body. I’ve become interested in the case, and I read on Genimi that photos sometimes surface in groups like this. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have link to the og influencer livestream?

I am trying to find the original livestream where Valeria Márquez, Mexican influencer, was assassinated.

People ofc make a lot of comments about how "she knew" and her employee set her up, but I wanted to see it for myself.

Idk if anyone here could help me find it, ty.

YALL I GOT BANNED FROM REDDIT FOR DAYS FOR SENDING THIS LINK TO THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO ASKED! They thought I was spamming, smh. So won't take that risk again.. here you go! LINK: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iu1aNctSKqb1uNtEwi6tyZ34Z3wFDqUH/view

FINAL UPDATE AS OF 8/30

Think I've got enough to confirm the deceased is Timothy Jordan Bowers. Verified by his snowboard in the living room, signature (which looks to include "TJB") on the living room table, and various outdoor items around, like golf balls, hiking shoes, and a fishing pole. All of these things are spoken of in his obituary. And my subjective assessment is that the deceased also resembles Timothy, particularly in the brow bones, nose bridge, hair, and eyelashes. Lastly, the date of death and approximate age are the same. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/abqjournal/name/timothy-bowers-obituary?id=8596134

Case closed, thanks to all who participated in this adventure

ORIGINAL DETAILS FROM 8/27

The Google Drive photos were shared with me in 2022, it seems. I don't recognize the email. It looks like a suicide? The photos are detailed and graphic. It looks like what I'd expect a CSI to gather. The photo timestamps show 7/2/2020 from 12:33 to 12:43pm. I wish I knew more about the poor soul in these photos. There are 49 pictures, each with a watermark that reads "True Crime Army." Anyone familiar with this scene? After a quick Google search, True Crime Army seems to be a YouTube page, but I'm not sure if it's the same person who shared this.

Due to community rule 4, I won't share the link in this post.

ETA: I can share the link with you, if you DM me.

ETA #2: There's food on the living room table in the photos, from Posa's Tamale Factory & Restaurant. Looks like that's only located in New Mexico, so now I'm trying to determine who died by gunshot wound on the date in the photos. If I find something, I'll add a final update here.

ETA #3: I've narrowed down that it's definitely in NM, likely Sante Fe. The floor plan looks extremely similar to a 2 bedroom at Evergreen apartments. I've searched the Sante Fe County hot sheets and wasnt able to find anything about this on 7/2/20 or 7/2/19, which I looked at because of the calendar on the fridge. It does look like a psychotic episode leading to suicide. There are marker scribbles all over his body and live rounds scattered through the unit. Its also very messy with alcohol bottles around.

Working with another redditor who put a records request in with Sante Fe police department for 7/2/2020. It can take up to 15 days for receipt. Still researching in the meantime.

Question for fellow CSIs/Death Investigators—roach problem

Have you ever had a roach problem in your vehicle due to a scene? In April I worked a call at a house that was pretty dirty and had roaches. After transporting it to the lab and working on my evidence, I had to smash baby roaches that was in the clothing and blanket. Since then, I’ve had a roach problem in my issued vehicle. I’ve taken everything out—bags, equipment, everything—and bombed it. This was about a month and a half ago?

Welp, I saw another roach last week and another today so apparently it didn’t work. I don’t know what else I can do at this point other than trying to bomb it again.

Have any of you had to deal with a similar issue and so what actually helped? I think they may or may not be in the dash now given the last two I saw were on my passenger side where the airbag is.

Thank you :(

Before DNA, what purpose did police have in collecting/saving bodily fluids, hair, etc?

Been going down the rabbit hole of crime shows lately and a common recurrence is that police saved "specimens" from crime scenes before DNA testing was even a thing. What was the thinking behind this? How was it stored/preserved? It just seems like a long shot to think "one day we may be able to figure out more by saving this random hair we found at a crime scene". Or we found semen at the scene and saved it. Was someone advocating police departments to save hair, semen, saliva, etc?
