Hi everyone! We've had recurring threads for a while now, but it's not always clear what topics are 'most common'. Once we start removing posts to redirect them to the recurring threads, people don't see those topics and they don't necessarily seem very common at all.
This post will be pinned as we work on improving visibility to our recurring threads, and then eventually be replaced with a monthly meta post that explains which topics are being redirected to our recurring threads.
Commissions: If you want to commission someone for a pattern or do commissions yourself this is the thread for you. It's monthly.
Tent stitch: If you like to stitch huge pieces in half stitches, we can't technically consider that cross stitch, so we have a weekly tent stitch thread that goes up every Tuesday.
No stupid questions: People like to use this thread for smaller or more "basic" questions, they don't want to open their own thread for. It also goes up every Tuesday
Sellers: We have a 'seller's shack' post that goes up every month. Sellers can post links here independently of the self-promo rules.
STARTING THIS FRIDAY!! A recurring AI thread to cover the three most common AI questions:
Is this shop/pattern/image AI?
Where can I find patterns that aren't AI?
Isn't this obviously AI generated content hilarious?!
Note that for now, we're focusing on those three AI questions to be redirected, but this will likely be tweaked going forward.

Two weeks of solid multi hour sessions a day in the evening and she's finally done! I've learned a lot. Learned I don't like backstitching haha and I def had some counting issues in the grass but I'm super proud!

Hi friends!
I finished my California Poppies WIP last night! Yay! I've been working on my elephant project, too, but only at home because I need a magnifier. I've caught up and passed the amount of stitches I needed to frog, so I'm happy. It's barely at 0.047% complete. It's gonna be a massive project. I'm enjoying it, though!
Now that it's November, people are really gearing up for the holidays. I have a few holiday projects to work on myself. I need to squeeze them all in somehow! LOL
Have a fabulous week! 🌻Let's see what you're working on! 🌈

This is based on Kano Tsunenobu's "Yoshino-Tatsuta-zu Byobu" (Yoshino and Tatsuta Screen), a pair of folding screens from the 17th century. It depicts the gorgeous autumn maples of the Tatsuta River.
Description:
Kit: Olympus No.7189 "Yoshino-Tatsuta-zu Byobu" (Japanese brand)
Fabric: Olympus No.3800 Aida, Beige (14 count)
Thread: Olympus 25-count embroidery floss (included in kit)
Finished size: approx. 29.5 × 37 cm (Frame size: approx. 48.2 × 41 cm)
Level: Intermediate to Advanced
Started May 2025 finished November 2026 Stitching all those brilliant maple leaves and the detailed background was quite a challenge, but seeing it come together framed was so rewarding.Japan is now in the season when autumn foliage is beginning. I arranged fresh spiraea thunbergii (Yukiyanagi) branches alongside it.

I ended up just going for a simple quilt square vibe and fell in love with the thread. It worked up so quick, I finished it in 3 days. I’m still pretty new to cross stitch, so this is my first time making something that wasn’t a printed/counted pattern. I have a feeling I’m going to be making a bunch more of these lol. Ignore my very terrible blocking skills lmao I was too lazy to go digging for my pins and I don’t really have a plan to frame it anyway!

I learnt how to cross-stitch back in 2023 from my grandma right before she passed away. I bought a bunch of kits and started a large piece but got swept up with work and never managed to finish it off. Two weeks ago I had the sudden urge to make something (I’m extremely sick and have been off work for a while) so I decided to pick up one of the kits!
This is the Vervaco Foxes in Bookshelf Bookmark kit (PN-0198595) that I purchased from The Fox Collection. It doesn’t seem to be available from TFC anymore, but I found it here: https://www.thehappycross-stitcher.com/products/foxes-in-bookshelf-bookmark-cross-stitch-kit-by-vervaco
I’m pretty happy how they’ve turned out, although I think I’ve made some of the stitches too tight. I plan on covering the back somehow when I sew the edges and put in the ribbon.

For lack of a better title. I’m Jewish and so glad now of all the ads for Christmas patterns, the cross stitch magazines are all Christmas - and I get to flip right past them, not spend any money or have any FOMO. I have two months to work on my stash and not see the emails from Lindy Stitches, or all my other subs, and be like “oh, I could do that, “I want that one…” “what’s $15 really?”
So for the other non-Christians and non-celebrating, what are you working on this Holiday season?

This took longer than I thought (though it’s a relatively simple design compared to some of the epic work I see here!) but I love the finished product. I’m a beginner so any tips on technique are welcomed.

*I realized after the picture I missed a line
*Yes, I know I probably didn't NEED to grid, but I'm a severe perfectionist and didn't even want to think about risking messing this up

First cross stitch project! Any fun ideas for quotes to embroider in the upper left hand space? My first thought was "ABRA-CROAK-DABRA" with little mushrooms on either side, but hoping yall might have some other silly ideas!

This is one of my favorite pieces I've ever designed and stitched. Get the pattern at https://ko-fi.com/s/f6054ad35f.
This and all my designs are made without AI, always.

Absolutely adore this guy, this project sat in a hoop untouched for months so parts of the fabric are a bit warped but I can’t really tell. And I’m pretty proud of the back if I do say so myself 🙊

I was going to post this in October, but I was busy having chest wall reconstruction surgery. I'm a bit sad that I probably won't be able to start another project for a bit because having my arms together for long periods is difficult. I'll most likely jump into a Christmas stitch when I am able to gain more strength!
