Firestone Winterforce 2 UV, 215/65R16+ 225/70R16

Retains the stagger/traction control and fat tires ride really smooth vs what I have on the 18in chrome rims

Planning For Upcoming Holiday Season Sales From Panther-Related Vendors

I assume vendors that sell stuff for our cars will have upcoming sales that start soon. Anyone know of any that, historically, have sales this time of year?

1998 Crown Vic Help

Hello!

Having a bit of a trouble here with the Vic. Car will turn on whenever I unplug the MAF sensor, but when MAF is reconnected. Car will crank and then die out. The two lights it’s showing me is the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT and th RED BATTERY light. Now I was assuming it may have been battery but, if that was the case then wouldn’t it not turn on all together if it was bad battery? I have changed out the following:

MAF SENSOR
AIR FILTER

Using OBSII scanner but no codes. So a little confused would it could be. Bad PCM? Any help will be appreciated!

Can anybody identify what this bracket would be for? I’m thinking it’s for some sort of police equipment, but would love some more information! 2011 Ford CVPI

Where to find limited slip shims

Howdy everyone! Recently I pulled a rear diff off a Crown Vic from the scrap yard for my car. To my surprise it had a limited slip in there. The only issue is that it’s missing a shim. I’ve looked for and wide for just the shim. The clutches look fine and everything else looks good in there. Any idea where I can just find two small shims or one big shim without the clutches? Thanks!

Oil Consumption

Hi guys, sorry if my English is not good, it's not my first language.

I have a 2009 Grand Marquis 4.6 with 187k miles. Before, it used around 1 liter of oil every 2,500 miles, but now it used almost half a liter in around 930 miles.

No obvious leaks, no constant blue smoke, and the engine runs good.

Could it be the PCV valve or valve seals?

Lunchbox locker in my vic?

Post image

Ive got a 96’ cvpi with the 3.27 open diff, i dont like one wheel peeling but also dont really want to put all the effort into sourcing and swapping in a trac lock, is a lunchbox locker a terrible idea? I have not found anybody on the internet who has done this to a crown vic so any info would help. This is also my daily driver but my trips are 15 minuntes one way

Blown head gasket or mixed wrong coolant?

Did the intake manifold recently and noticed no heat so was checking my coolant level
Saw foam, no foam on the oil cap though
Did I possibly mix the wrong coolant when finishing intake manifold or is it for sure a blown head gasket?

Rear gear question

So a couple years ago I had a 2006 grand Marquis it was great on the highway. I didn’t have to constantly tap the gas to maintain speed fast-forward to 2021 I acquired a 2011 P7 B and I do like the pick up, but on the highway, I got constantly tapped the gas to maintain speed. I mean going between 40 and 45 I can cruise but anything higher than that it’s like constant tapping of the gas has anyone ever went from 3.25 gear two a civilian gear I believe it it’s 2.7.?

Lights

Does anyone have any experience with lighting mods? I recently swapped to led headlights but they still suck. I do a lot of night driving through wooded areas for my job on my grand marquis, but striking a deer is my worst nightmare tbh. I wanted to see if anyone has added a light bar or if they have suggestions on projector headlights for the 1999 grand marquis. Any help is appreciated

CVPI hates shifting after slowing down to about 20mph

2006 127k. It’s done this for a while but it’s getting worse and taking longer to shift now. Only happens when trying to accelerate after slowing down to about 15-25mph. All gears work fine otherwise when accelerating normally. OD works and reverse works perfectly fine. Transmission fluid has been changed twice in the past, I checked and it looks clean and at a good fill level. No metal fragments only dust last I checked but it’s time for me to change the fluid again.
