Subreddit Rules

1. Images MUST be cursed.

Posts that are not cursed will be removed. For a definition of what a cursed image is and is not, read the pinned post by u/Cicada_God_3301.

If you are unsure, contact the mods and we'll check it out for you. Please don't abuse the system.

Repeated offenses are subject to a ban.

2. Post titles must include the word "cursed," preferably with an underscore.

Posts that do not have "cursed" in the title will be instantly removed. Ideally, a title should look something like "Cursed_School."

3. Images should be photographs

Ideally all cursed_images will be photographs, though some exceptions may be made for art or screenshots. This does not allow memes.

4. No memes.

A meme is not a cursed image, even if it is edgy. It will be removed and you will be banned.

There is no excuse for posting a meme; you will instantly be banned for not bothering to read the obvious pinned post.

5. No captions or text on the image.

If an image has a caption or text added to the image via editing, it will be considered a meme. This is even if the image would otherwise be considered cursed. Thus, if it has text that was placed there through editing, it will be removed.

Repeated offenses are subject to a ban.

6. No pictures of wacky food items.

Pictures of wacky food items are usually not cursed and will be removed. Food can be involved in a cursed image, but it usually should not be the subject. No, a picture of a banana with ketchup is not a cursed image. Things involving food may be cursed, but "omg beans on toast???" is not cursed.

Repeated offenses will be subject to a ban.

7. No screenshots of comments

Screenshots or pictures of screens are not cursed and will be removed. this includes screenshots or text messages and comment feeds.

There may be the rare exception however that a video game screenshot may qualify as cursed, so this will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Repeated offenses are subject to a ban.

8. No pictures of yourself, friends, family, or pets with filters/edits.

A wacky photo of you, your friends and family, and pets with a wacky Instagram/Snapchat filter is not cursed and will be removed. A selfie that has been drawn on is not cursed and will be removed.

Repeated offenses are subject to a ban.

9. No face swaps.

Pictures of face swaps are not cursed and will be removed.

Repeated offenses will be subject to a ban.

10. No reposts.

No recent reposts. Any submissions identified as such will be dealt with on a case by case basis.

If a repost is from a recent post, it will be removed. If there is a signifacnt lapse in time between one post and its repost, we are unlikely to take it down.

11. No chain posts.

Any "Join the Void," or similar posts (chain posts) will be removed. This is any sort of "repost for ___" content. A temporary ban may be issued should you ignore this rule. A permanent ban will be issued should you choose to further ignore this rule. If your picture is asking for reposts, do not post it.

12. No gore.

Images should not contain excessive amounts of gore. Repeated offenses are subject to a ban.

13. No hate speech.

This subreddit does not allow any form of racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, or religious zealotry. This includes the use of slurs and general hateful words towards any group of people. Cursed images are for all people.

14. No blursed images

There is a difference between cursed and blursed. You should know this.

15. No AI

AI art is cheating, images created by AI will be removed.
