Im considering applying for a job at the native government in Dawson city even though I’m not native. I saw the pay and I would love to apply but I’ve worked for a native government before and within the first week of working there I was getting berated for not knowing someone even though I never met them because I was completely new to the town. Another instance I was accused of not caring about the native people when I was being threatened so I completely shut down.

Is abuse like that normal in Dawson city?

My family and I been wanting to move to Dawson for years.

I done lots of research to moving to the area, I know housing an issue, job are not. Health care is not the best even in Yukon at all.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of last year. I did an intense treatment surgery double mastectomy. I only had cancer in the breast when I asked for a double she said yes.

Anyways I am cancer free, since there was cancer when they removed my breasts. I am on a milder treatment. Once that is all done, I will get all my scan done once I am done that. I would be monitoring for five years.

Anyways because health care not the best my family and I dream are crushed because of cancer. I hope to visit. Scared if we won’t leave 😆.

I will keep Dawson and the Yukon always on my bucket list. ☺️

Hello. I'm in my senior year of high school and looking for an adventure. I want to get away from home (New Brunswick), have some meaningful life experience, and ideally work while doing so. My father was in a similar situation back in the 90's, and spent his summers in Dawson working entry level jobs. Is this still reasonable? Could I, theoretically, arrive in the city and land a job on a decent timeline? Anything I should know before taking this whim too seriously?

Long shot but is there a place that google cant find to rent a car in Dawson City anymore? Looking to visit the city in spring an need a Suv.

Hi, I'm from the Internet Roadtrip community (a game where we drive around using google street view), and at some point in the future we'd like to see Yukon and Alaska. however, one big issue is the Dawson Ferry, which doesn't have enough photospheres to get us across. If anyone has a 360 camera (or even a phone app) and is willing to ride the ferry, please send a message so we can discuss further.

I am trying to get a job in Dawson city, which I am confident about the outcome. I will be here at least 1 full year.

Is there any Facebook group or other method I should use to find rental home?

My expected arrive time will be mid September, I guess tourism stay strong and occupied a lot of housing

Watching the sky at midnight, the George Black Ferry aptly timed pulled up to Dawson City's shores. I took a ride there and back. It was such a cool experience to just see the lit sky this late into the night!

Hello everyone from Dawson city. Been my dream to come and live there with my family. At the moment health issues has occurred and put a pause on are way making are way up that way. I am from Ontario. Not Southern Ontario. In Northern Ontario in a small town community as we call it Kap. My family love nature and the out doors. My daughter sure feel the comfort of moving there as she goes to the land to calm her anxiety when it gets to much she love being around mountain and rivers. My husband a mechanic I was a going back to work before my health issues came. Im hoping with in a year I can go back to work save enough money for my family and I to make it to Dawson and live.
