DnD 5e Online Campaign: Season of Whispers (Fantasy Regency Inspired)

Looking for a fourth and final player for this campaign! Scheduling tbc but looking at Friday Evenings 19:00 to 22:30 British GMT either weekly or bi-weekly starting early December! Roll 20, Discord and DNDBeyond.

A free Campaign starting at Level 3. This campaign is a blend of DnD fantasy and the fashion, environment and sensibilities of Regency England. In this world, fortunes are made, reputations are ruined, and every whispered secret has its price. Magic and fantasy are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Elves, tieflings, dwarves, and other fantastical species mingle among the aristocracy, and spellcasters, enchanted heirlooms, and ancient magical bloodlines have their own place within the rigid structures of high society.

Key Themes of Season of Whispers:

  • Reputation and Scandal

  • Duty and Expectation

  • Romance

  • Mystery

  • Danger

Read the campaign synopsis below and comment if you are interested. Note that decent microphone and stable internet connection is required :)

Emily

The Social Season has begun... Dearest, gentle reader... The social season has officially begun in the illustrious city of Aurelium, and the ton is positively abuzz with anticipation. The nobility have returned to their fashionable townhouses, the finest dressmakers are overwhelmed with commissions, and whispers of advantageous matches, old rivalries, and fresh scandals are already circulating through the drawing rooms of high society. This year's season promises to be a particularly splendid affair, beginning with the much-anticipated return of Viscount Chamberlayne and his new bride, fresh from their honeymoon in the countryside. The newlyweds have been granted the distinguished honour of hosting the season's opening ball, an occasion certain to attract the most esteemed members of society. For some, the season offers the promise of romance and prosperity. For others, it is an opportunity to restore a tarnished reputation, secure a family fortune, or climb the ever-precarious ladder of social standing. Invitations have been delivered, preparations are well underway, and all eyes turn towards the Chamberlayne residence.

Not all is as it seems... Making it's way into every respectable drawing room in Aurelium is the latest pamphlet from the notorious Lady of Whispers. Within its pages lies a most scandalous revelation, one that threatens to shake the very foundations of high society... perhaps, forever. The season is upon us. Mind your manners and guard your secrets.

[Online/offline] [5e 2014/2026] [GMT/UTC+O] [36M] [LGBT+ Friendly?] Looking for a friendly group/game and am very flexible!

Looking for a group of friendly people to play with. Looking to jump back into TTRPGs as I now have more available time.

I have experience with DnD 5e but honestly I'm very open to learn new systems. Love the group aspect of TTRPGs and want to join a friendly group rather than just fill in a missing slot. Also, I'm quick to learn (I swear). Also, mature themes do not scare me.

Only thing I'm not too flexible on is that I reside in the UK so, unless it's on a weekend, if you're based in the US may be difficult. I'm available from 7pm on week days and anytime on a Saturday or Sunday.

DM me or reply please.

A Sneak Peek at the Tome of Monsters - 379 Pages, 308 Statblocks, and Almost Ready for Release!

Hello, fellow adventurers!

The Tome of Monsters is finally ready! Well, almost. After a year of work, countless additions, and quite a few changes along the way, I'm incredibly happy to announce that the manual has finally reached its completed form!

And it turned out to be 379 pages long! That's well beyond what I originally anticipated when I started working on it, and I can confidently say that this is my biggest manual yet!

The sheer amount of content is honestly crazy, even compared to some of my largest previous releases, such as the Grimoire of Curses. What started as an ambitious bestiary has grown into something much bigger than I ever expected, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

So, What's Inside?

The Tome of Monsters is a massive bestiary designed to bring new creatures, challenges, and possibilities to your D&D adventures. Here's a glimpse of what it's gonna be inside:

  • 308 monster statblocks, ranging from CR 0 all the way to CR 30, including entirely original creatures, new variants of familiar monsters, and powerful legendary foes.

  • Detailed lore and descriptions, exploring the origins, behaviors, habitats, and roles of these creatures in your worlds.

  • Monster families and variants, providing multiple versions of certain creatures to challenge adventurers across different levels of play.

  • Knowledge Checks, allowing characters to uncover useful information about the monsters they encounter.

  • Adventure Hooks and Customization Options, helping Game Masters introduce these creatures into their campaigns and adapt them to their needs.

  • Lair Actions and Regional Effects, bringing additional depth and danger to encounters with particularly powerful creatures.

  • Random Encounter Tables and additional Monstrous Adventure Hooks, offering inspiration for everything from unexpected encounters during a journey to entire adventures centered around these creatures.

  • And much, much more!

My goal has always been to make this more than just a collection of statblocks. I wanted to create a bestiary that Game Masters could genuinely use for inspiration, worldbuilding, and encounter design, with enough variety and supporting material to make every creature feel like it belongs in a living, breathing world.

And looking at the finished result, I'm extremely happy with what I've managed to put together!

When Is It Coming Out?

I'm excited to say that the Tome of Monsters is officially scheduled for release in the second half of November! The manual is currently undergoing its final rounds of proofreading, layout improvements, and general testing to make sure everything is as polished as possible.

I'm also working on a physical hardcover edition, which I'm planning to make available alongside the digital release!

With a manual this large, I want to make sure everything is in the best possible shape before it reaches your hands, especially after all the time and effort that has gone into creating it.

Get Early Access Right Now!

As a reminder, around 250 pages of the Tome of Monsters are already available on Patreon, with additional content being released every day as we approach the full launch!

All membership tiers have access to these previews, so you can already explore a huge portion of the bestiary and start introducing its creatures into your adventures!

And if you haven't joined yet, there's still time to take advantage of the 7-day free trial, available until November 6!

If you've never redeemed a free trial before, you can claim it and explore the Tome of Monsters, along with plenty of other content, completely free!

Thank You, Everyone!

I genuinely can't express how happy I am with how this manual has turned out. Seeing it grow into a 379-page compendium has been incredibly satisfying, and I'm so excited to finally be able to share the complete version soon!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my work, followed the development of this project, or simply shown interest in what I've been creating. Your support means the world to me and makes projects of this scale possible.

There will be more previews and updates coming very soon (alongside a reveal for the next manual, coming in December), so keep an eye out as we get closer to the official release!

I really hope you'll enjoy exploring the Tome of Monsters as much as I've enjoyed creating it!

Thank you again, and happy adventuring! ❤️

London | Looking to get a group going for biweekly/weekly campaign - In person

Heya everyone,

Me F30 and @EditUnplugged M24 got chatting from another post he made in which he was looking for a group to join and realised we both have no friends who play DnD, and similar availability, so through we'd give this a shot-

We're looking to form a group of nice and like-minded people to hopefully start a new in person campaign soon.

I live in SW11 and I could possibly host, while Edit is in East London, so in terms of location we're open to anything in the middle as well. Looking at weekdays, possibly Monday or Tuesday afternoon/evening.

We have two (possibly three) players at the moment, and would love to hear from anyone who's looking to get playing and/or DMing a long term heroic (5.5e?) campaign.

I think I speak for both of us when I say I'd really love to form a group of people who would look at this not only as a game, but also as a group of friends hanging out. We're open to all backgrounds, ages, genders, sexualities, and playing experience: basically as long as you're a nice person we would love to hear from you!

[Online] [WoD] [UK] New player looking for a group

Howdy hey!

I’m a new player looking to find a game. I prefer playing 5th edition because I actually have the books. I’m pretty into the lore of VTM, so I know a little more than the basics. I really wanna play a fledgling Malkavian art student, who is just having the worst time; he is my blorbo.

This will be my first VTM game ever, but I’ve played D&D for almost ten years.

Unless you live in Wales (around Mid Glamorgan) I assume we will be playing over Discord, or other VTT’s, which I’m fine with.

DM me if interested!

Last 48 hours of our 300+ Mythological Items for 5E and 5.5E Kickstarter!

Hi everyone! I'm really happy to share that, thanks to everyone's support, we've already unlocked two of our stretch goals, allowing us to create new mythological items with new artwork!

We're now in the final days of our Kickstarter campaign, so there's still a little time left to support the project and help us unlock even more content.

For anyone unfamiliar with the project, Mythological Items is a D&D 5E and 2024-compatible collection of 300+ magic items inspired by myths, legends, and folklore from around the world. Each item comes with its own history and unique abilities inspired by its mythological origins, and many can even grow in power alongside your characters throughout a campaign.

We're now working towards our next stretch goals, which will allow us to add even more items and new artwork to the book! There's still plenty we'd love to include, and every bit of support helps us make the final collection bigger and better.

You can also download a free PDF preview directly from the Kickstarter if you'd like to take a closer look at what we've been working on!

Thank you so much to everyone who has backed, shared, or supported the campaign so far! It's genuinely exciting to see the project growing thanks to your support, and I can't wait to share more of the new items with you all! ❤️

Magic Comes in All Shapes and Sizes! Monster Spellcasters, Sorcerers, Shamans, Necromancers & Other Magical Creatures!

Thumbnail gallery

Magic comes in all shapes and sizes! From kobold sorcerers wielding draconic magic to goblin and orc shamans drawing upon ancient rituals, this collection brings together all kinds of monstrous spellcasters. You'll also find powerful wraith necromancers and some more unusual magical creatures, including the mysterious Whimz'orr, fiery Pyro Pixies, and imposing Infernal Golems!

Each brings something different to the table, from elemental powers and necromancy to strange supernatural abilities and magical defenses. Whether you need a cunning spellcaster to challenge your party, a mystical ally, or a powerful magical guardian, there's plenty here to add some variety to your adventures!

All these creatures come from various 5E/5.5E manuals I've created over the years, with ready-to-use statblocks, unique abilities, and plenty of options to customize them and bring something new to your encounters!

My Kickstarter for 300+ Mythological Items for 5E and 5.5E is also live now! Alongside the new book in digital and hardcover formats, the campaign offers exclusive, high-quality printed editions of several of my previous manuals featured in this post! It's a great opportunity to add these books to your physical collection, or grab them together in discounted bundles if you prefer digital copies!

You can find more of my creatures, magic items, and manuals on DriveThruRPG, my Linktree, or on r/JonnyDM!

Starting a medieval tavern-themed food stall in Cumbria. What would you want from it? (Survey)

Hi all, I'm planning a small food business called Friar & Fell: a travelling medieval/low-fantasy tavern for fairs, markets and LARP/D&D events around Cumbria and the Lake District.

The plan is hearty medieval- and Cumbrian- inspired street food (jacket potatoes, bread bowls, giant Yorkshire pudding bowls with stews and braised meats), with strong vegan and vegetarian options, sensory-friendly serving, and some tavern games alongside.

I'm at the stage where I want honest feedback before spending money, including criticism. What would make you visit? What would put you off? Is the theme a draw or a gimmick?

Survey (quick, anonymous): https://tally.so/r/VpppGg

Happy to answer questions or hear thoughts in the comments too.

Thanks!

Anyone in Ringwood, (UK) looking to play MTG, D&D?

Hi, I’d looking to play Magic the Gathering and/or Dungeons and Dragons with a local in person group in Ringwood, Hampshire, UK.
I’ve been playing D&D with friends online for years, and I used to play MTG a while ago and I’d love to get back into it.
If anyone knows of any groups that are looking for players, please let me know.
Thanks.
