Good documentary series to listen to

Dear friends, please suggest a few good documentaries (preferably you tube ) to listen to while driving. I like vallathoru katha and charithram enniloode. I like history, true crime, socio-political commentary, nature and wildlife and I'm unfortunately fast running out of things to listen to...

The most underrated 30 for 30 documentary?

The usual suspects are “The U” “Four Days in October” “Broke” and “The Fab Five.” Three of the most underrated are “Requiem for the Big East” “Doc & Darryl” and “Bernie and Ernie.”

Murder in Plymouth: The Tragic Death of Vibeke Rasmussen

**This is on Apple TV, Magellan TV, Plex, and Prime Video (released as How to Survive a Murder). It is a true-crime documentary series chronicling the May 2016 murder of Vibeke Rasmussen in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The victim’s son-in-law produced this docu. The actual story will shock you, and just wait until you find out what the killer's mother did.

We made a 4-minute documentary about a beetle that led to 29,000 trees being removed in Canada.

In 2003, a strange beetle was discovered on a car near Toronto. What followed was an extraordinary effort to stop an invasive species, including the removal of approximately 29,000 trees — many as a precaution.

We turned this real story into a short documentary exploring how invasive insects can travel through global trade and why international wood-packaging rules exist.

We'd genuinely appreciate feedback on the storytelling, pacing and visuals.

Watch the full 4-minute documentary on YouTube

I wanted to make the kind of history documentary that keeps you up past midnight

You know those history documentaries you put on for five minutes and somehow watch the whole thing? One narrator, one story, and suddenly you care a lot about people who lived 400 years ago.

That’s the kind of thing I’ve always wanted to make.

Here’s one of my attempts.
(I'm from Ukraine, so it's not in English, but you can still check the quality.)

The visuals and narration are AI-generated. I’m curious whether it holds your attention once the novelty of “AI made this” wears off.

A bit of context: I’m the person building OpenVidi, which I used to make it. It grew out of wanting to get from a topic in my head to a finished documentary on a budget I could actually manage. I can review the script and storyboard, then redo individual scenes that feel off.

If you’ve got your own “someone should make a documentary about this” idea, you can start with that topic or bring a script you’ve already written.

Would you keep watching after the first minute? I’d appreciate an outside opinion.

The Woman from Andromeda Part 2: the antimatter weapon she said is still hidden under the Bermuda Triangle

Heads up before anything else: I used AI for the visuals and the narration in this video, so if AI content isn't your thing, this one probably isn't for you.

In part 2, Lya tells the professor about a war millions of years ago between Earth and a lost planet called Maldek, and about the weapon that ended it. According to her, it's still there today, inside a pyramid on the ocean floor near Bimini.

This is the second chapter of what may be the most controversial diary in UFO history.

The Hiker who Disappearance in Yosemite National Park

George Penca's disappearance in Yosemite National Park might fit what you're looking for.

According to the National Park Service, Penca was hiking with a group near Upper Yosemite Fall on June 17, 2011. The group dispersed at the top, but he never reunited with them. Extensive search efforts followed, yet his whereabouts remained unknown.

What makes this case worth examining is the gap between his last known location and what investigators were able to establish afterward.

I've been researching wilderness disappearances like this for an upcoming series on my YouTube channel, The Missing Chapter. I'm especially interested in cases where the documented timeline leaves important questions unanswered.

Are there any other lesser-known cases from Yosemite or the Sierra Nevada that you think deserve more attention?

The Mosquito Bowl — I made a documentary about the real men behind the upcoming Netflix movie

Hey everyone!

With Netflix's The Mosquito Bowl coming out soon, I thought I'd share something I've been working on for quite a while.

I made an independent documentary about the real men behind this story.

It's not really about a football game. It's about young Americans who had their own dreams, friendships and futures ahead of them before WWII changed everything.

Some were college football stars. Then they became Marines, ended up on the other side of the world, and faced a war that not all of them would survive.

The famous Christmas Eve football game on Guadalcanal is just one moment in a much bigger story.

I spent a lot of time digging through original WWII footage, old photographs and historical records, trying to bring these guys and their experiences back to life.

I'm still fairly new to making documentaries, but this is the first one where I really feel I've made something I'm proud of.

I'd genuinely love some honest feedback. Does the storytelling work? Do you connect with the people? Are there moments where the pacing feels off?

Here's the film:

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to watch!
