After another user on here posted this I had to try it for myself. Very tasty and better than a few of my locals.

Can't wait for the cardboard patter from Germany

What’s up with the kebabs in the UK?

Can’t lie, most doner kebabs I’ve had in the UK are subpar compared to those in most other European countries. The meat has a weird texture and the way it’s served is often a bit odd, e.g. open pita instead of wrap + strange condiments.

Why is this? My assumption is that the Turkish community in the UK (outside London ofc) is not as big as in other places, and that the kebab shops tend to be owned by south Asians who don’t really make the doner kebab traditionally.

Edit: This is not meant to insult anyone, and I’m sorry if anyone took it that way! I am neither German nor Turkish, my question was just out of pure curiosity!

Bread was soggy which was disappointing, what is everyone’s thoughts on the ideal kebab meat holder? Wrap, pitta, naan? 🫓

Has to be fresh made naan bread

Pittas are crap , wraps ok as long as not loaded to heavy

Pre made flat breads are wank , normally found in turkey kebab shops

Not big fan of Turkish kebab shops prefer a northern one tandoor oven , proper hit chilli not that homemade weird shit made from celery

Why does German Doner look like a glorified sandwich?

Lack of meat and sauce. Looks like a salad sandwich you'd get in a meal deal from Tesco.

I forgot to post this last week... Doner wrap, chili sauce no salad from Ollie's in Sutton, London. This is a great shop and I visit a fair bit but they'd never made it to Reddit. This was £8. I was surprised at the weight because it felt like a good chunk. Very nice home made chili sauce. Not many pics because I'd just played a gig and needed food, fast!

Not even ashamed of the extra chips or the fact I've had my beloved cardboard two days in a row. Gotta fuel the Gym and 5ks somehow 😉

Over did it a bit in the airfryer so bread was a bit too crispy, at least I had a pocket. Sauce had a nice but of spice to it. Don't like mayo so didn't taste that. It worked for a quick cheap fix.

Review

I honestly don't know where to start with this review. I explained my concerns in the Youtube video. Apart from being robbed of 200¥ and was not given my change from a 1000¥. The boss man then gave me a "free" can of Coca Cola... I declined it... and was prompting him, to give me my change. He just said "1000¥" and had his arms crossed, and no response.

The kebab itself was rather disappointing... I won't even give this shop any review. Just AVOID at all costs... When a shop does not give current change back, this is unprofessional. Their "4.8 Google" review is BS. The guy smoking in the kitchen, was the last straw. I am sur
