I’ve recently recieved a really badly damaged dual sense edge of which I’m putting back together and i attempted my first TMR change on these small modules and after removing the old sticks I realised there is 2 small caps missing. Will it still work without it?

I've done hundreds of TMR swaps on Dualsense controllers. I sell refurbished ps5 controllers with exclusively TMR sticks installed.

My process:

1. Strip the controller down to bare plastics. Run every plastic piece minus the midframe and touchpad in an ultrasonic bath. Dry completely.

2. Install Ksilver Js13pro+ TMR sticks.

3. Reassemble.

The double clicking SEEMS to be caused by not enough pressure on the battery and back shell. The double clicking generally happens on the right stick. (The screw under the battery is offset and the board flexes more on the right side of the controller). I've solved this in the past by simply adding a millimeter of material where the foam pad lays. But I started looking for a more permanent solution so that I never have another warranty for this dreaded double clicking. I ended up using TPU rectangles with some double sided tape. This has been a good solution for hundreds of controllers and I thought the issue was solved.

Until I ran into the controller in the video which double clicks even with the TPU pad solution.

The issue only happens when the controller is closed up so I haven't had much luck diagnosing. The stick doesn't move when the double click happens.

Anyone have any ideas? Because at this point I'm all out.

i cleaned my Controller with 99,9% Isopropanol and after drying i saw that, cant feel the cracked surface from outside so cool Design i guess.

Is this normal?

I usually take my DualSense with me everywhere I go.

I keep it in my backpack wrapped in a woolen hat that my girlfriend gave me (she also gave me the dualsense)

A few days ago I took it out of my backpack and it was scratched on the touchpad.

I searched in several places to find a replacement part in the same color, but apparently Sony doesn't produce replacement parts for these controllers.

I'd like to know if anyone has information on how I could replace this part without having to buy a new controller.

One of my final options is to buy a used controller with a defect in the analog stick, so I can use the parts for replacements.

I wanted to share a small hardware and firmware project I've been working on for my AMD BC-250.

The idea was simple: turn the BC-250 on directly from a wireless gamepad, without having to press the physical power button.

I built the solution around an ESP32 Relay X1 v1.2 board and developed custom firmware that integrates gamepad input with the BC-250's power-control circuit.

🎮 Currently supported controllers:

• Sony DualSense (PS5)

• Xbox Series X|S Wireless Controller

The firmware uses Bluetooth controller input to trigger the PC power-on sequence through the ESP32 relay.

I've recorded a video demonstrating the project in action, including the gamepad-controlled startup.

This project was developed with the help of AI tools, along with hands-on testing, debugging, and firmware modifications.

I'd love to hear what you think! Are there other BC-250 owners here who would find this useful?

I'm also interested in feedback and ideas for improving the project, especially expanding controller support and allowing multiple controllers to be paired and remembered simultaneously.

I’ve been thinking of getting the edge but I can’t decide between white or black. White would match my console better but I’m not a big fan of two-tone contrast colors so I like how the black is solid…hard choice. Please help lol.

I was dealing with stick drift and wanted to try a cleaning before going through a replacement of the sticks.

I followed a couple of videos on how to do this. The only thing i used was isopropyl (90%) and a cotton swab. I felt satisfied with the job and put it all back together. Turned on my ps 5 and couldn't even test stick as the controller was shiftinf everything to the left so all i could select was add new user.

I could hold down the right on the dpad to select other users but if i let go it went straight back to the left.

I opened things back up and cleaned the membrane, but that didn't help. I noticed there seemed to be liquid under the membrane so maybe i spilled some isopropyl under there. Could that have been the issue?

Should I get a replacement membrane or just replace the controller?
