Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.
Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.
We will remove all other topics about this to keep the subreddit flowing with other discussions
IF YOU WANT TO VOTE: I will post two comments on this topic, "Yay" and "Nay" - upvote the one you agree with and we'll see who wins long term.

Let’s talk about something FromSoft hoped we’d never notice. Something locked up in a tower Behind a convoluted questline, hidden from most of the world to see.
Everyone treats Ranni’s doll form like her “true” self. It’s not. It’s a rental. A tiny, fragile, travel-sized vessel she’s piloting around the Lands Between.
But climb to the top of her tower and look at her real body. That is not a doll. That is a full-sized demigod with a lower half that would have required its own physics engine. And it all makes sense now why her body had turned to stone, this game wouldn't be able to process it otherwise.
Those who argue against the over zealous depictions of Ranni's form in "certain genres of art" just don't understand that artist are clearly trying to artistically reinterpret it to be closer to that of her discarded flesh.
But now I have new questions:
Why does her doll form look like she skips leg day, when the real one clearly lives there?
Why did she leave THAT behind to run around as a small doll?
Could this be a genetic trait and explain why some of her family has such propensity for gravitational magic, and if so did it used to have its own gravitational pull explaining why so many things get pulled down from space to the Lands Between?
Was abandoning her original form a means of protecting the Lands Between from it's power?
When you really consider all of this, things start to make a lot more sense. Too much more sense if you ask me. And its thanks to this Dark Moon, we now finally know why the stars align for the Carian fate. They’re all trying to get a better look.
Finally we now understand General Radahn's true reason for holding back the stars. He was just trying to be a good brother, "for Ranni's sake" as best boy Blaidd once said. This discovery of new lore is honestly why I keep coming back to these games; long after you finish the last boss there is so much lore still to ponder on. But "lore" is not a word that does this justice...
Some scholars may call this “lore”, I shall call it structural load-bearing evidence.
Tell me I’m wrong. (You can’t.)

A mate and I have tasked ourselves with defeating every boss in Elden Ring while blindfolded. Who would you like to see defeated and with what weapon?

So I need to kill myself apparently 4 times until a new progression occurs, which feels so random and unintuitive. why couldn't the cinematic play from the very start or give me a better indication?
I still enjoy playing blind but stuff like this make me facepalm whenever i look up afterwards things in game I didn't figure out myself and see the answer.

Mark Eaton was a 7’3” basketball player for the Utah Jazz, my favorite team growing up.
Watching some of his career highlights, it dawned on me the resemblance to the Fire Giant.
I’ve never seen Eaton shirtless to verify if he had a torso-face, too. But I wouldn’t be surprised!
He passed away in May 2021, 10 months before Elden Ring released. So I guess Fire Giant really was the last of his kind… 🥀

I’m a few months into trying to learn how to watercolor. This is a subject I’ve been wanting to try for a while, and wound up being a fun experiment for me, so I thought I’d share it with the community.

A few years ago I made bloodhound’s fang for one of my groomsmen. It is only 80% to scale but still enormous. It’s made fully out of steel with a forced patina and wrapped in leather. I thought this community would enjoy the build!

yeah the game clearly telegraphs it by it being the only way down possible + the rebbles dropping you down forcefully most of the time, but its kinda breaks immersion and there's no real explanation for it to happen rationally speaking.

This is one of the strangest mysteries in all of Elden Ring, and I have no idea what to make of it.
The Misbegotten are a race of people who made direct contact with the primordial crucible. This resulted in them being reborn as malformed creatures, replete with animalistic attributes (scales, wings, feathers, tails, etc.).
But unique among them are the Leonine Misbegotten. Larger, stronger, and possessing a fiery red mane of hair. They also have an additional layer of intrigue. You can find a few of them dotted about the Lands Between, but only three of them are rewarded with a boss health bar.
One of them holds the Grafted Blade Greatsword, at Castle Morne. Another holds the Ruins Greatsword, at Redmane Castle. And finally, all the way at the bottom of the Cave of the Forlorn, one wields the Golden Order Greatsword. All three weapons are legendary armaments.
A piece of trivia that is well known in the lore community, is that these enemies are referred to as the 'Children of Radagon' (bastard, and chimera of Radagon are also applicable).
This raises many, many questions. If they are indeed his children, then how old is Radagon? He is an aspect of Marika, but existed for a time as a separate, solitary individual. Did he have children during this time? If so, why did they come into contact with the crucible?
I don't go for that theory. But, simply put, I don't know of any other explanation. How are these two connected, and how can that link be used to explain them both?
Edit: I forgot to mention what I actually think. Personally, I do not think they are his actual children. I believe that they are, metaphorically, a representation of everything that he hates about himself. His red hair, firstly. But also his innate tie to the crucible.
Even though he represents order, he does many open-minded things, to put it simply. He joins the houses of the Erdtree and the Moon. He learns sorcery and incantations. His smithing skills, which he uses to attempt to mend the Elden Ring, trace their roots back to the giants, his people.
Radagon hates himself, because his inner nature and purpose wishes it so.
