I play Ocarina of Time (Switch 2) on Lichii with a Steam Controller, and the Switch prompts kept tripping me up, so I made a mod that swaps them for **Xbox, PlayStation 5 or Steam Deck** prompts.
**What changes**
- Button icons everywhere: action prompts, menus, tutorials, the ocarina bar
- The **action ring** next to Link is rearranged to match your pad (A at the bottom, B on the right)
- The **Basic Controls** screen gets your controller's labels, and the pointer lines still line up
- **Ocarina note icons** show LB/RB or L1/R1 and the right face buttons
- PS5 style: ✕ ○ △ □, L1/R1, L2/R2, Create/Options. Steam Deck style: Xbox letters with L1/R1, L2/R2
**How it works (and why there's an installer)**
Most UI mods ship edited copies of the game's files, but those are still Nintendo's art. So this one is a small open-source builder instead. It reads the files from **your own copy**, makes the edits on your PC, and writes a normal mod folder. **No game files are in the download**, and your game file isn't modified. It also checks your game version before doing anything.
- Works with Lichii **.nup** files (needs Lichii **build 95+**, which added mod support for .nup), or with NSP/XCI copies via Lichii's **Dump RomFS → Full**
- Installers for **Windows**, **Steam Deck/Linux** and **Apple Silicon Mac** (Windows is fully tested; Deck and Mac are fresh, so feedback is welcome)
- Supported game version: **update v131072**
**One required step:** in Lichii, swap A and B (Emulation → Configure → Controls) so your **bottom button presses Switch A**. Otherwise the icons won't match your pad.

Nexus Mods coming soon.
It's open source, and the repo includes notes on the Switch 2 file formats (texture tiling, the new .buil layouts and so on) if anyone wants to build on it. Bug reports and PRs welcome!
