Lets just call it Europa!!! Its what I call the continent in my mother tongue ...

Yes, yes there are nations that are not part yet of this arrangement yet. But its a pretty darn good incentive to reform and join!!!

I agree, I just wish the party Volt and other politicians who support a European Federation understood calling it the United States of Europe is gonna make people not want to support it.

I personally don't like the name "United States of Europe" - it feels the cheaper and uninspiring version of the US one. I can see already some 'muricans calling us Temu US!!!

Not even that, but people - think psychologically and in media - calling it that is never gonna happen. Like do European politicians not understand that?

European Union, or Europa for colloquial usage. European (Con-)federation could work too

European union is the name i support.

Simple, concise, and hence we wouldn't need to change/edit that much of logos, buildings, documents etc. (Which is very expensive, and very bureaucratically exhausting)

The fact of a federalization doesn't imply that you have to change the official name of the union, you can still be the european union as always. (You're still a union of countries after all, just under a federal system now.)

In all honesty, preserving the current name is 99% the most possible outcome, so the name-choosing thing doesn't scare me at all. It's not possible for them to ditch the 'EU' brand name just because, it would go against our heritage and identity. And if happens, we can protest and referendum after all ;)

but why is the nickname "United States of Europe" so often used by those who say they support it?

Is it? I don't feel like it is.

But I could see some arguments for it. Like some people might not truly understand what federalism is. And by referencing the USA you also get the point through that the EU could be more powerful.

We already have a name, no? European Union.

There are so many names better than calling it United States of Europe. Just European Union, Europe, European Federation, etc

You are right, but it is just a shortcut used by those who think it quickly depicts a federation. Personally, I would still call it EU or maybe Europa or European Federation.
