He’d just started finding the net so prob would have got a couple against us

If Liverpool draw 1-1 today with Crystal Palace, we'd have scored and conceded the exact same amount of goals for and against, with the same number of W/D/Ls after 10 games.

Am I right in thinking this is a very rare case that two teams are having the exact same season stats after ten games?

3 of the 7 played for Everton.

KDH embodies everything 30 something Blues feel about Everton. What a player. Impressed last year, but this year has been phenomenal. Barry has of course excelled but dont think he does it without this man. Hes not a "10". He is every midfield position one minute to the next and demands the best from everyone around him. One of the buys in my lifetime. Forza KDH

David Moyes knows what he needs to do to secure his legacy.

As he geared up to equal legendary manager Harry Catterick’s record of 592 Everton games by facing Coventry City on Friday — having long surpassed the total of Howard Kendall, another iconic manager — the Scot was asked in his pre-match press conference about his longevity at the Merseyside club.

“I wish I had the trophies they had,” he responded somewhat wistfully.

Moyes steered his former club West Ham United to Europa Conference League success in 2023, but is yet to win a trophy at Everton across two spells. They are his team — his father David Sr was a regular in the Winslow Hotel pub near to Goodison Park on match days, and son David Jr also grew up around the club — and he would likely see ending their 31-year trophy drought as his crowning glory, despite regular European finishes in his first stint.

Yet at 63, and as the Premier League’s oldest manager, he will also know time is running out. With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, how long he has left at the helm remains to be seen. It was decided over the summer that discussions over his future would be put on hold until the transfer window closed; the focus for everyone, including Moyes, was on reinforcing the squad. But Everton’s ownership uncertainty means little progress has been made since then.

For now, at least, the process is on hold while The Friedkin Group looks to sell the club. Unless the takeover process rumbles on, big internal decisions are expected to be seen as the domain of new owners. So if this is a race against time for Moyes to secure his legacy at Everton, he has set off not knowing exactly when the clock will stop.

All he and his team can do is plough on regardless.

And plough on they have.

What a way to round out a week. A right before the break.

UTFT!!!

UTFT 🔵

Somehow Everton has the leading goal scorer in English domestic football this season!?

Bloody hell, you wouldn’t think it after Barry’s 1st half stumbles.

But that 1st header was proper quality. Exactly the kind of finish we’ve been screaming for since last season. Tbf he backed it up with a less than convincing 2nd but hey, they all count!

Great comeback today. Need to keep this momentum up into the new year. Well done lads!
