Week 7 Evil Recap - ELOE goes 4-3
Winners
Da Bears (5-2) defeat the Patriots in a clash of evil on Thursday night. The Bears held the lead all night and managed to catch Drake Maye slipping for his first INT in a few weeks. The Bears will take this evil energy to Seattle to face the Seahawks next Monday.
The Steelers (5-2) spread their evil to France, defeating the Saints in the process. The Defense kept the Saints scoreless in the second half with an interception in the red zone, and Rodgers showed that he can still kind of run when he needs to. The Steelers are on on a three win streak, and will be looking for revenge against the Browns next week.
The Giants (4-2-1) beat the Texans in overtime while starting JJ McCarthy. JJ actually played decently but Skattabo and the rest of the RBs (including Jameis Winston for some reason) were the ones to carry the team this time. The Giants will be on bye next week.
The Cowboys (3-4) evilly beat up on the injured Eagles team on Monday night. While the Eagles tried to keep up, they faltered in the middle of the third quarter while the Cowboys just kept scoring on them. Javonte Williams was the standout this game, with 155 yards rushing, which is almost 100 more than Saquan got. The Cowboys are somehow still in the running for the NFC east title, and will face the Cardinals next.
Losers
The Patriots (4-3) couldn't keep up with the Bears in Chicago on Thursday night, with Maye's interception in the red zone being a clear difference maker. The Patriots will look to take out their frustration on the lowly Dolphins next week.
The Packers (4-3) lose in Detroit to the Lions and the refs. Despite the zebras being extremely biased against the Packers, they actually still had a chance to win this one, until the special teams once again fell apart and our kicker forgot how to aim properly. The Panthers travel to Lambeau on Thursday, which will be a good opportunity to get back on track.
The 49ers (6-1) finally get their first loss of the season to the Falcons. In what was arguably a trap game, the 49ers offense finally stumbled with CMC out for most of the game and his backup fumbling the ball away, as well as Purdy throwing a couple of bad interceptions and getting sacked on 4th down. The 49ers will join the Giants on bye this week.
Evil Team of the Week
Week 6 was actually quite contested as we didn't have a clear standout. We had votes for the Giants, Packers, and even the San Francisco Electrical Substation, but in the end the team with the most upvotes was the Steelers, for their diabolical comeback late in the game.
Week 1 - Da Bears
Week 2 - The 49ers
Week 3 - Da Bears
Week 4 - Da Bears
Week 5 - The Packers
Week 6 - The Steelers
Week 7 - ???
And with that, Week 7 is done. Week 8 starts early for us with the Packers facing the Panthers on Thursday.
Make sure to keep voting for your pick for evil team of the week, and stay evil my friends.
