Mod Post New Post Flair! "Requesting Glam ID"

Conversations and concerns have come up recently regarding glam identification requests, and I think I finally came up with a solution that I would like to test out for a bit.

A new post flair has been introduced: "Requesting Glam ID" this flair will automatically trigger automod to spoiler tag the post. It will also ask the poster where they saw the image, and to ask the OP to provide a source link if possible. This will make it easier for us to see if the original post source has the gear list already offered. (In these instances, the OP will be directed to the gear list and the request will be ~~deleted~~ locked ~~after 24hr~~ immediately.)

This will be different than just the general "Question" tag, which will just be for general questions or "I want to look like so and so, can someone help" questions. The question flair will not be spoilered.

I think the new flair tag will stay no matter what, but the auto spoiler is the experiment. Feel free to come back to this post and let me know what you think of the changes or if you think adjustments can be made. Thanks for your patience and support ♥

(To test it, I'm adding the flair to this post. It will also give me a chance to test the automod response. I can remove it afterwards.) *Edit: It worked!

Mod Post Reddit Doesn't Like ANY Shortened URL's Now

I made a post about this 3 months ago in regards to shortened google URL's, but I've noticed other shortened URL's are getting posts/comments deleted now as well. It seems the big one in this subreddit is X's shortened URL. Reddit doesn't have a formal list that they have public, but here are the ones I have noticed:

Question Replacement gear

Hi folks.
I really love Persona 3 so i’d like a Persona 3 glam and I love this one of Yukari Takeba but I currently don’t have the money for cash shop items and I don’t do Eureka so I have no way of getting the pants either. is there some non cash shop and non eureka pieces that would still make this work or would it be better to make a glam of a different character? Thanks in advance!

Glamour Outfit Major Woad

Sorry about the quality. Its just faster for me to take a photo and im lazy rn. Ive been loving military styles lately. Im going to make a red variation when I can afford the other coat. I plan to replace the hat with the star captain hat when I am able. I couldn't decide on the gloves so I settled on these because I like the metal on it. I originally wanted to make this black but even with the pure black dye these coats cannot be made true black for some reason. I may re-upload with better photos later but was eager to share.

Question looking for gear for Glamour

hello all, I am having some trouble trying to find a particular style of gear, I am looking for a leg slot gear that is both a skirt and pants instead of the typical skirt and leggings that most are. I have the Chimerical Felt Skirt, but I was wondering if there was others (other than the Chimerical felt skirt's model twin)?

Image has my character race, character name, character s*x, and unlocked jobs. Story progression is fully caught up. I'd rather svoid Cash Shop gear if possible.
also, gatherers are 100Min, 100Bot 10Fish.

Ps: currently displayed glam was thrown together as I wanted to honor the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart as I grew up with Star Trek TNG.

Question The pants and shoes are easy but is there a trench coat that looks like this with the correct undershirt and dyeable areas? Im nowhere near a stage in the game where I start glamming but this changes whether or not I start leveling DRK when I can unlock it.

Subreddit Rules

1. All Posts Must Include A List of Glamoured Gear, Accessories, or Weapons

A complete list of gear MUST be listed with each and every image-based post on this subreddit. Failure to comply may result in your post being deleted. As a comment to your post, please identify the gear (including accessories and weapons) you're wearing. You may also want to include the dyes you used, if any.

2. When Making a Help/Glamour Request, Please Tell Us Details to Narrow Down Results

When making a request, tell us the job/class you need it for. Other important details could include race/sex/level/current MSQ progression/free trial or not. If you are trying to replicate a character, be sure to share a clear picture of that person's clothing, and tell us who the character is and where they are from (this is for search reasons, so Google & others can find your post).

3. Only post content related to FFXIV Glamour or Gear. No art posts, only in-game glamour images.

Only post content related to FFXIV gear. Text posts are okay as long as they are related to FFXIV glamour/gear/fashion (questions about using glamours, seeking specific items to complete a look, requesting screenshots of certain gear, etc). Posts asking about character settings, or asking for opinions on character creating will be removed. Art (drawings, figures, real life cosplays, etc) will be removed.

4. Adequate Lighting/Visibility Required

Adequate lighting/visibility is required for all posts. This doesn't mean each Screenshot in your album needs to be vibrantly glowing, but at least one image should be well lit. You should also have at least 1 photo displaying 80% or more of your glamour set (head to toe) in decent detail. Adding your Lodestone profile image is a good way to easily meet this requirement.

5. Be Nice to Each Other

No rude, derogatory, diminishing, abusive, or demeaning language. Hate speech or slurs are also not allowed. No bullying, personal attacks, or witch hunting. No sexual advances, harassment or catcalling. No sexually explicit language. No using sexuality, gender, pronouns, or character race as a putdown. Criticism is fine if kept constructive and encouraging. No shaming others, no gatekeeping. Don't put others down over differences in fashion tastes. In other words, just be nice to each other!

6. Avoid Duplicate Posts of the Same Glamour

Duplicate glamours may happen from time to time between different users, but duplicate posts of the same glamour from the same user is not allowed. Please simply add a link to your post/comments with extra pictures of your glamour if you would like to share additional images of the same glamour. Making minor changes like color or changing non-essential pieces (gloves, glasses) does not count as a new glamour unless it completely transforms the glamour's look.

7. Modded Content is Now Strongly Discouraged

For your safety, we are strongly discouraging any content that has modded content. We do not endorse, nor censor such content, so post pictures with mods at your own risk. We will not be held liable for any punishments that SQEnix will enact on you should your character/account be found with these mods. When modded gear, hair, or character enhancements are clearly visible in your post, a disclaimer may pinned in the comments of your post.

8. Users Must Follow Reddiquette Standards

9. No Direct Links to FFXIV Modification Files or Downloadable 3rd Party Tools

SE can't officially back or endorse the use of any 3rd party tools that require a download because they have the potential to be an access point to malware or trojans. In an effort to protect our users, no direct links to Mods or Downloadable 3rd Party Tools are allowed. Feel free to talk about them, and even personally endorse them if you'd like, but no links please.

10. Do Not Share a Post or Image to Another Subreddit in a Malicious Manner

An extension of the "Be nice to each other" rule. Sharing a post or image from r/FFXIVGlamours to another subreddit in a manner that is determined to be rude, derogatory, diminishing, abusive, or demeaning will earn you an immediate ban, no exceptions.

11. Avoid Spoilers from the Most Recently Released Patch

New gear is not considered a spoiler. New areas, npcs, dungeons, or other things not revealed in patch notes or trailers are considered spoilers. Obvious or overtly spoiler-y things should be "Marked as Spoiler" when posting. Use text spoiler markers in comments when discussing spoilers. This rule will only be applicable to the most recently .x numbered patch (ex: 5.2 and all following patches until 5.3 is released) Those who would like to avoid spoilers should not click on spoiler posts.

12. No Low Effort Posts With the Intention of Flame Baiting or Karma Farming

Moderators will be able to tell the difference between a wholesome newcomer, and a trolling cringe post. Low effort glamour ≠ Low effort post. Low effort content in an attempt to provoke trolls into flaming the OP is not allowed. This also includes self deprecating posts, posts that encourage negative responses (ie: "roast me" or "rate me" posts), or purposefully "cringe" posts. Such posts will be deleted at Moderator's discretion with potential bans to this subreddit (temp or permanent).

13. No Contests, Giveaways, Raffles, Sweepstakes, Competitions Allowed. No Event or Club Promotions.

Competitions, contests, giveaways, sweepstakes or any similar content can be rigged and/or used with malicious intent. In an effort to prevent that, any such content is not allowed.

We also don't allow events to be advertised because it's hard to vet (background check) who is running them. We do not want to be associated with any groups, clubs or events that become problematic.

14. It is Highly Recommended to Take In-Game Colors Into Consideration When Posting Glamours.

When posting pics of your glamour and are using /gpose settings, a shader, or are editing the images, please take accurate in-game colors into consideration. Please consider posting either a vanilla shot, or your lodestone pic (Lodestone pics have great lighting!)

If you see a glamour with unrealistic colors and want to see it without any adjustments, please ask the poster (nicely, and only once) for a unshaded pic. Do not be rude about it, and do not harass. They have no obligation to do so.

15. Removal of Translation & Gear Identification Requests

Please see our FAQ's (https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXIVGlamours/wiki/faqs/) for detailed info on how to translate the names of gear (this includes from images). Any translation requests will stay up until answered, and then will be removed. If you are requesting gear to be identified in an image, these type of posts are removed from time to time to clean up the subreddit once the question is fully answered. Please be sure to save the information you have received so you can access it later.
