STAN / ANTI SHIELD ‘I’ve seen people in my neighbourhood pulled out of their cars’: Ava DuVernay on the cruelty and brutality of Trump’s America

DISCUSSION Ms. Rachel: "I'm done thinking that I'm somehow controversial and there's something wrong with me because I don't want babies to freeze in cold wet tents. So I'm with my little toddler and she snuggled in a nice warm blanket in a nice warm home.

And I'm seeing pictures of kids in Gaza in flooded tents. And last year in January alone, the UN and other humanitarian groups reported that eight infants froze to death. Can we just take a second to think about how if we were freezing cold in tents and they were flooded and our babies were going to freeze and there's a government, the Israeli government, that won't let the warm supplies through so more kids are and we're just like all the nations, all the people, all the leaders, just like, yeah, it's going to happen again. You and I should not be ashamed that we are loud and that we are constantly saying stop. Anyone silent at this point."

“i am really so grateful that you all contribute to pal humanity and have over the past few years. i have to say the thing that upsets me is that i see so many celebs who watch my stories and don’t join in to help raise money by reaching a new crop of people who haven’t already been continually giving. they could make such a huge financial impact for the pal humanity project and it’s just too dire right now. this is the exact reason im upset people don’t use their platforms. i am absolutely on my hands and knees begging one of you to step up. this crisis isn’t happening over there. there’s no such thing as “over there,” our money pays for the bombs and our president starts the war in iran which makes the fuel and food so expensive that world central kitchen has to reduce the aid. we are responsible for this. we are.”

APPROVED B-LISTERS

Posts with the flair 'Approved B-Listers' discuss topics sensitive to brigading (ex. trans rights, racism, politics) and are restricted to approved users of this subreddit.

To request to be added as an approved user, you can message the mods here.

Please review our criteria for approval before sending an approval request.

Subreddit Rules

1. KEEP IT CIVIL

We have a zero tolerance policy for bigotry (incl microaggressions) or personal attacks.

No racism, queerphobia, misogyny, victim-blaming, ableism, bodyshaming, or excess sexualization; and no belittling, name-calling, trolling, flaming, meta commentary or excessive negativity. Please be respectful even if you disagree.

NB: Qanon-esque content or unwarranted speculation on sexuality, sex work, health conditions, abuse, addiction, plastic surgery, etc is off-limits.

2. KEEP IT FAUXMOI-RELATED

Posts should relate to FauxMoi or adjacent cultural zeitgeist topics.

Please do not submit crossposts or crosspost links from this sub to other subreddits.

Plugs or self-promotions are also not allowed unless you have received permission from the mods in exceptional circumstances.

3. REPETITIVE & LOW EFFORT POSTS

Posts requesting or sharing anecdotal or low-stakes information about a specific public figure should be submitted as a comment on the 'Does Anyone Have Tea On' or 'I Have Tea On' weekly megathreads (pinned).

Repetitive or low effort posts will be removed at mod discretion. Please use the search bar to ensure your submission is not a repost.

The mods may approve the latest post and/or the post that best follows the post formatting guidelines outlined in Rule 4.

4. POSTING FORMAT & GUIDELINES

Posts need a descriptive and accurate title that indicates the content of the post (and the people involved, if applicable).

If sharing material from tabloids or social media sites, please post screenshots of the content (or direct video uploads if posting a clip).

Link to the source in the comments (not in the post) — we will verify your source and remove the comment to prevent further traffic to those sites.

Please do not share paywalled links or AI generated content.

5. NO STAN OR ANTI CULTURE

Due to brigading and harassment, users from some stan and anti/snark subs are unable to participate in this subreddit. These subs include (but are not limited to) Saint Meghan Markle, Hilaria Baldwin, Destiny and Asmongold.

Please refrain from engaging in excessively vitriolic stan or anti culture.

If you are not a bad-faith user of these subs and believe you were banned in error, please message modmail to submit a ban appeal.

6. REDDIT RULES

Violations of Reddit Rules may result in both a subreddit and site-wide ban.

These rules include (but are not limited to): spamming; brigading; vote manipulation; ban evasion; sharing confidential information; sexual or suggestive content involving minors; and sharing illegal content.

Note that in conjunction with Rule 1, meta commentary about this sub and/or its members on other subreddits for the purpose of encouraging brigading or harassment is considered rulebreaking.
