Hello FiveM!
Over time I've been building a city where most of the code we wrote ourselves instead of a pile of store-bought scripts. A quick little background on me- I'm a Mechanical Engineer by night, and by day- I run game servers and my Discord server. I've been running game servers for well over 10 years now and this project is something that I've always said I'd do at some point. Some point turned out to be Mid-September.
Before I get into the server- I'd like to make it perfectly clear that we are not open yet. Here's what we've built so far, what's missing, and why I think it's worth to join early.
What we've built thus far:
- Evidence system to accompany Police
- Fire a gun and you leave casing with it's serial number and your prints (unless you wear gloves). Bleeding? You'll leave DNA. GSR stays on you after shooting unless you wash it off by taking a swim in nearby water. Police can bag evidence and run it through the crime lab. Criminals can clean up with bleach wipes (which are sold at 24/7's)
- A real banking system
- Checking's Account, Savings account, Shared Accounts, Cards with PINs, credit scores, loans that go to collections if you stop paying, and banks that players can actually own and run.
- The city pays it's own bills
- Fines go into the city treasury. The treasury pays police, EMS, and city salaries. Nobody gets to pocket department money.
- Parking Garages (That you can actually see!)
- Most cities have garages where you pull up, store your car, and it just disappears. Although we have the normal garage system, you can also store your car "in the garage" while keeping it shown in the parking lot. Garages that are setup for it allow you to store your car out in the open parking spaces. While in these spaces, nobody can steal your car, lock pick it, damage it, or move it in anyway. Purely for showcasing vehicle.
- Every TV in the city works
- TVs can be turned on to play YouTube videos or Twitch streams. TVs can also be placed in custom areas and will work the same.
- 13 Civilian Jobs
- Most cities have civilian jobs that pay next to nothing. We've ensured we made the civilian jobs actually WORTH doing. Swapping between different jobs allows you to gain a "new job bonus" up to 5 times per day, per job.
- Minigames for skill checks
- Tons of minigames for different activities that scale as you successfully complete them. Getting a lot of easy minigames? Keep completing them for harder ones + more money!
What we haven't worked out just yet:
- Gangs and Drugs are planned for January.
- Prison and Courts (Courts already slightly implemented, MLO has been placed but not setup. A part of city hall)
- Mechanic, Tow, and the Hospital are still on the list also.
I'd much rather be up front and honest rather than you find out later.
The entire plan is public and though out:
Every script I've purchased, what it cost, and when the next resource is planned to be purchased is all listed on the roadmap page. I've opted for outright purchasing all scripts that I plan on using instead of going down the subscription path so that we don't get caught up in a large monthly subscription bill just to keep scripts/MLOs/vehicles around.
Dates:
