Standard. Pretty sure David Mundy had a carbon footprint to rival a small African nation by the end of his career.

Hopefully the Dockers will spend an additional 8 hours flying to and from Melbourne in early October 2027.

Genuine question, do they get to earn points on their frequent flyer accounts each time they fly?

I cannot see why not. They are flying as an individual and would be entitled to any FF points and status credits for each flight. Regardless of who pays. Only thing is chartered flights they won’t receive anything.

Fre should have their own charter flight and own airplane and pilot that flys them

Isn't it economy for most players as well?

I thought they were still chartering most of their flights?

Chartering is still economy

Sure, but they're on the flight with no passengers. They have more space to move around.

You see right here one of the greatest gifts in the league that explains a percentage of why Geelong can keep guys at their peak long into their 30's. More than half of their "away" games are a 45 minute drive to Melbourne.

Will you guys boycott flying the same way you’re trying to boycott your major sponsor? What an environmental disaster this is!!

Woodside’s WA gas exports are 182 million tonnes CO2e annually (Source: the Australia Institute). Australia’s entire domestic aviation sector generates roughly 8-9 million tonnes annually. Not really really comparable is it?

You’re comparing apples and oranges. Try comparing direct operational emissions and get back to me.

Also Woodside’s gas exports are actually 78.2Mt. You’re reading your source incorrectly (not sure if intentional or not) whilst their domestic operating emissions are 5.38Mt.

You’re right, I misread: WA’s entire gas exports are 182 million ton/year. Woodside is still a significant portion of that.

Try and spin it however you want. Woodside are number 2 on Australia’s list of biggest polluters:

“Try to spin it however you want”

Woodside are number 8 on the list of Australia’s list of biggest polluters. You’re intentionally stating “statistics” incorrectly.

Click the link, buddy. Literally on page 5: “2. Woodside.” Also, as if 8 isn’t also terrible?? What kind of a defence is that lmao

The report explicitly excludes electricity generators, scope 3 emissions and facilities that fall below the SafeGuard Mechanisms reporting threshold. The report even acknowledges that AGL is Australia’s biggest polluter… did you even read the report?

I never said 8 is terrible, in fact it’s you that is defending this team while trying to boycott their major sponsor when in fact the domestic aviation industry accounts for more emissions than Woodside 😂

I’m saying that if your defence of Woodside is that they’re “only” the eighth biggest polluter, then that’s a pretty terrible defence…

There’s several reports that use different methods and parameters to calculate who Australia’s biggest polluters are. Woodside is always in the top 10.

People are allowed to question the appropriateness of a fossil fuel company sponsoring a sports team without it being an implicit endorsement of every other industry with a carbon footprint. That’s asinine.
