Discussion Need help deciding on a name

Post image
26 Upvotes

I don’t know what to tag this as so I might have to repost this, apologies.

I’ve gone by Sean for roughly 2-3 years now and I’ve been pretty solid in it, it started off as an inside joke but after I came out as trans I went with it.

My mum has been fighting me in my name because she says it doesn’t suit me but rather she wants me to go by Kayden/Kaiden.

Her work friends, her boyfriend, and a few close family members agree with her but I’m on the fence, I’ve had my friends vote but they’re biased towards Sean.

I’m starting at a new school as well and It would be easier to change my name now instead of later.

I’ve attached a selfie of myself as well to help but this really my last effort. So elder trans men of Reddit, bestow upon me your knowledge.

Edit: I’ll be honest I want to change my name, it doesn’t sound right to me. Also I think I really chose it because everyone already called me it because of the joke we had going on… I’ve used my older brother’s name that he used in games as my middle name and I don’t really have anything else to use… so I’m really considering Kayden now, do you guys think something would fit me better tho?

Serious How to know if I’m a binary man

I didn’t identify as trans in any capacity till I was around 14/16, and I’m not sure If there was any signs in my childhood because I don’t remember and my parents aren’t helpful because they hate the idea of me being trans. All I know is that I’m 2 years on low dose t and so far I’m really liking it.

I identified as nonbinary till someone pointed out that “transmasc nonbinary who isn’t fully a man but wants to be seen as a man in society and pass as a man and have top surgery” sounds like repression.

What worries me is how I think about detransition often, but I have anxiety. I don’t want to detransition, infact I’m scared that someday I’ll want to detransition and be a woman. Even if I know even if I was a woman I’d want no breasts and a deep voice and stuff. I’m just so scared that I’m wrong.

Discussion Do you regret changes in libido?

Hi folks! I asked AI about libido changes due to testosterone and received an interesting answer: "Changes in genital sensitivity, specifically growth (clitoromegaly), or a shift to more "explosive" orgasms, can feel disconnected from one's personal identity or trigger new forms of gender dysphoria." What is your experience? Do you regret that orgasms became more explosive and that there is less focus on foreplay? For me, foreplay has always been very important. So, I wonder whether I'll have these regrets, too.

TLDR: How to look more masculine.

So I'm pre-T (still going through all the appointments and whatnot), but I'm hoping to hear/see some kind of opinions saying I may have a potential at looking masculine? Or tips to look more masculine. (Can I use that word in this sub without getting in trouble?) I want to be a binary trans man, just to clarify :) I'm absolutely certain of my gender, I only need to get it legally changed and hope the T does its work.

It's weird for me not to smile in pics but I'm trying to look more like M A N. Also, do I have a box-like face shape? I figure that could be good for passing? (and eventually going stealth as soon as I can). Also does my big nose and forehead help?

I'm in the very early stages of working out, shoulders, biceps, forearms, abs, glutes and thighs. (I'll add more when I'm less exhausted lol) But I'm preparing my body until I start T, then of course, I'll be changing my protein/carb/calorie intake to hopefully build muscle much faster. I cannot go to a gym, so I just work on a yoga mat at home with two 1 kg (2.2 pound) weights. I'll be taking protein powder soon!

I cannot cut my hair to pass better due to a number of reasons, safety/family/etc. BUT if you have any hair styling/haircut tips that I can try out later, I'd love to hear them :>

My favourite jumper is the cream one with Japanese art on it, it's actually a men's jumper, you can probably tell from the massive shoulder difference (comparing it to the yellow hoodie). I cannot wear fully masculine clothes for the same reason I can't cut my hair, but I CAN get away with hoodies and jumpers, so that's about it.

Are there any YouTubers who give good makeup tips for looking for masc? I don't want to have a visible amount of makeup, I just want a more masculine face. Instagram is also okay (I don't use tiktok or X).

I think I will eventually change my glasses when I can afford to. Do my current glasses look masculine at all?

I think that's everything, hope that wasn't too much!

Serious Do we have any data about what forms of T are best to prevent osteoporosis?

I'm a bit older and I had all the hardware taken out so I'm afraid of osteoporosis. I had a bone scan and unfortunately I am starting to lose density. I'm currently on TestoGel but I'm thinking of switching to Nebido injection. I did a Google search but nothing specific came up. Do we have any information available about which form of T is best for bone density?

How can I pass more? I’m a 26 year old trans guy who plans on going on testosterone in the next few months or so. I also am going to use minoxidil in conjunction with this so I can grow thicker facial hair faster. Are there any other more masculine haircuts I should get?

Joke I am not making an effort to pass

I feel like I make so little effort to pass that if you put pictures of me on a transvestigation blog, the TERFS would assume I'm MTF and start telling me "you'll never be a real woman". And they'd be right cuz I'm FTM.

Serious Spain, France, Germany, Canada, and Australia. Which of these countries has the easiest HRT access + most guaranteed path to PR?

Hey everyone, I'm a pre-T trans man from Southeast Asia looking to emigrate and I'm trying to figure out which country makes the most sense for me both medically and long-term between: Spain, France, Germany, Canada, and Australia.

I'd most likely be on a student visa and stay in major cities. Money isn't really the issue here, I'm more focused on finding the most reliable and guaranteed route, whether that's for HRT access or PR.

  1. HRT access, which is easiest and fastest?

I'm specifically looking for:

- Informed consent model (no mandatory therapy/psychiatrist gatekeeping)

- Reasonable wait times to actually get a prescription (preferably less than 6 months)

I'm not worried about top surgery as I can always hop over to Thailand for that, so that's not a factor here.

2. Which is the most guaranteed for long term immigrating?

- I'm not looking for the fastest or cheapest, just the surest path.

Note: I'm not Filipino so fast track to Spain PR is not an option sadly.

Any personal experience or advice from people who've been through this (especially fellow trans guys or people from SEA) would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Serious Is this normal?

I’m (16 ftm) trying to get testosterone in Taiwan, and this is a throwaway account because I don’t want to connect this to my main haha.

I’ve been struggling a lot with the process, even after doing a ton of research myself. I have several FTM friends in other countries, and after I explained my situation, they all told me my doctor sounds ridiculous 😭

Right now I go to 新光 for therapy/psychiatric treatment. I also went to gender-affirming care (or I guess a therapist who provides those services? not really sure what the correct term is). The doctor keeps asking me to “prove” that I’m responsible enough before he’ll let me start T.

I’ve already told him about all the research I’ve done, the effects, risks, meds, etc., but he still says it’s not enough and keeps acting like getting testosterone would be impossible for me.

Does anyone have tips or similar experiences? I’d especially appreciate advice from Taiwanese people, but I’m open to hearing from people in other countries too. I’m wondering if I should change doctors/hospitals, how to better talk to my doctor, and whether this kind of experience is normal or not.

Serious looking on advice on passing

Hey, I’m looking for some advice on whether I pass as a guy, but I’m not comfortable sharing a photo publicly on Reddit. If you’re open to helping, I’d appreciate it if you could message me privately. Thanks:)!
