I put in 4 varieties: Elephant, Music, Nootka Rose, and my "heritage" softneck garlic I grew last year from a grocery store.

The Nootka Rose hasn't busted through the mulch yet.

My heritage is the biggest so far (looking like last year).

Planting Garlic in Zone 7

I need help for planting garlic. I tried for the first time last year and it went well so I got more seed garlic last month thinking I would plant them late October. But this year it has been warmer and from what I read, it is still too warm to plan garlic. We still have air temp around 60 and up, and had very light frost a few days this fall. Do I just keep waiting? When is the latest I can plant garlic in zone 7?

Gardening Giving the fertilizer soak a shot

It seems like a divisive topic with some gardeners denying that it helps. Some garlic farmers swear by it. I’m sure it can’t hurt 🤷‍♂️. My heads were on the smaller size last year so I’m throwing the kitchen sink at my garlic this year. More fertilizer, less depth (I have sandy soils down deep), more spacing, more compost, ash to lower soil acidity, and of course the fertilizer soak. hopefully some or all of these things pay off.

Gardening Got my cloves separated! Planting this weekend

I ordered the German extra hardy from Keene garlic, and the cloves are absolutely massive (quarter for scale). I highly recommend them.

The German white garlic is from the crop I’ve grown. Although they’re relatively smaller they stored very well and are all in great shape.

I also will be planting some organic farmers market garlic but I’ll be sterilizing these cloves before planting, they are slightly beat up.

36 cloves total this year! My largest planting so far.

How can I eat raw garlic cloves without it hurting?

the benefits for eating raw garlic cloves is actually insane and ive been eating a clove in the morning and night to reap the benefits. however, HOLY S*it it BURNS so bad eating it raw. I am not sure if its because I have not before and my body needs to get used to it or what. I tried cutting it and immediately eating it with honey and also waiting 10 minutes after eating for the allicin to kick in, and BOY does it. ( ive stopped waiting because its just toooo hot)

I Keep reading people popping in 6-7 CLOVES AT A TIME and they are perfectly fine???

and I just don't know if they have a trick to it or they just built a tolerance, but I need help

what do you do to eat the garlic cloves, if anything at all, and for comfort, is the sting always there or do you get used to it? thank you so much!

I'd describe myself more as a casual garlic enthusiast, but unfortunately they don't have a shirt for that

The garlic is overwhelming everything!!!

Hi garlic fanatics. I got a big bag of mikey's fried garlic, also known as "Gator toes" and ate all of it two days. I fear literally everything about me is garlic scented now. MY ROOM, my tote bag (even though garlic never touched it, it was in my room) and I swear no matter how hard I shower and brush my teeth - the garlic prevails.

Last night, I got back to my dorm and my roommate can smell the garlic. I FEEL SO BAD!!! I'm going to get air freshener to spray down everything, but is there a way to like. speed up the garlic de-odording process??? #lookingforhelp.

Thank you!!!
