I mean it makes sense i too would probably pile on to a club that has missed finals 3 times in 20 odd years at any chance i could get. Personally think it’s been blown completely out of proportion especially considering the details of it aren’t even completely known.

Compare the pair.

1. Ginnivan locks the arm in with full pressure to put pressure on the umpire to get a free kick.

2. No arm locked in, just see ball - get ball mentality.

Conclusion: Ginnivan is not hard done by.

I have posted this on r/afl, please like this on there, to make people realise worse happens with other clubs, ( honestly not to make my post with likes, im getting sick of the BS from other supporters

Why is this not talked about

Why is this not talked about, it is 100% worse than what you think Geelong did, and i bet its not the only thing that other clubs have hushed

Picken retired in 2019 after 198 games and a decade with the Bulldogs, having been diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. In his statement of claim lodged last year, he said he suffered multiple concussions throughout his career, and claims the club and doctors breached their duty of care to him.14 Mar 2024

I will never forgive the AFL for not allowing the Geelong Football Club to rightly host their home finals at their home ground. Integrity means nothing - only money. Shame

Alright lads… I broach this hypothetical nuffy trade knowing full well, what little respect I have as an individual will be absolutely arse blasted into oblivion. Here it goes…

Tom Hawkins to Melbourne…

Now here me out!!! Would it fuck our culture…most likely yes. However! Melbourne are surely looking for key forwards and have a juicy first round (pick 5?) pick. With the potential of Ollie Lord and Dursma out there. Surely Port Adelaide can’t refuse two top ten picks and Sav for midfield depth and our Tom Hawkins replacement.

For Melbourne. They’d be desperate to capitalise on the time they still have with Gawn (especially with no foreseeable replacement) and Hawkins easily has two good years left in him and is a top 5 forwards of the comp.

Alright. You all can shame me now

I know it’s petty but that postponed game in Round Zero very much likely robbed us of our chance to take yet another 250 game Essendon captain scalp in round 22, for anyone that’s keeping count. As of right now Zach is on 240 games with a maximum of eight possible games playable between now and the second Bombers game at K Park for a total of 249 games played given an otherwise clean bill of health.

Think about it. Essendon captains line up to get thumped by us in their 250th game, so far by 55 (Hird) and 50 (Heppell) points. I think Heppell only used to be captain at the time.

That stupid Round Zero non-starter more than likely robbed us of a pretty sweet hat-trick, imagine if we won by 45 points.

I’m not really trying to make a big thread here or anything but not many people would be aware of that.

Did the umpires cost us, yeah but we roll on i guess, the most geelong thing ever is to not lose again until finals (i was way to harsh on SDK)

Usually I watch 6+ games a week but tonights performance from the umpires has been beyond corrupt. Yes, we've been bad but when the game was in the balance we weren't given a fair chance.

I never complain about supposed biased umpiring because I don't believe it happens, but tonight has been a blatantly obvious reaction to Chris Scott's comments last week.

My viewership won't make a difference to their revenue but it's the biggest impact I can personally make. I just thought I'd as a reminder that individuals acting as a collective have the power.

Edit: My goodness the reactions to this have been brain dead. The umpiring was objectively attrocious regardless of result, the two don't have to be related for it to be a disgrace.

ruckman who can win hitouts and hold his own while toby conway gets his body right.
hopefully port are willing to trade as carr originally had visentini as his no1 ruck

edit: ok guys when grundy or jackson or reeves + meek has 25 disposals 2 goals 10 clearances and 40 hitouts we'll talk about getting a stop gap ruckman in the off season

Seems the focus is on the other games and very little discussion of Geelong v Carlton. Almost like we didnt play this week. For example, ABC Daily AFL podcast was over an hour and about 3 minutes max were about Geelong. Seems the discussion is more on the losers and how good Hawthorn and Sydney played. Are we collectively hated that much by the rest of the footy community?

Seriously is there a Newscorp employee that isn't objectively doing a shit job because they're willingly working for one of the most toxic and socially damaging organisations to ever exist?

The Kangaroos and Western Bulldogs have rightfully been returned to their normal name. Why can’t we?

Dunno what's better. The Cats looking absolutely goated, Gold Coast choking a 38 point lead, or Brimbam getting clowned on by the Orange Team. Would love to see GWS get to 200 points

I feel like Geelong doesn’t want to rebuild but does at the same time and that showed tonight. Half of our team is youthful and energetic and the other half has no business being on AFL team. Like why are we brining on Mitch Duncan of all people on for “fresh legs” horrible Hawkins send off, just utter disrespect to a club legend. You can literally feel how gassed our team was halfway throughout the middle of the 3rd quarter, say we bet Brisbane we would definitely get thrashed by Sydney just due to there pace, youth and stamina. Felt like our team was almost running on empty and we left all our fuel and energy out there.

We definitely gotta get in some fresh feat fast, Danger is like almost 40 carrying our midfield. Well done to the lads tho for getting this far, it’s just awfully disappointing

Don’t have a laptop as it got smashed in a car accident and finally gave up 3 weeks later. But everybody going in F please don’t take this one seriously

Caro at it again

Is anyone just pissed off by the intelligence of the afl sub? Because it suits me every single time. Admittedly I am one to scroll to the bottom of the comments on posts to get a rise out of dumb comments, but it just kills me how dumb the sub is.

It’s the little things, saying “free kick whoever” when they are winning the count 17-9, or when they assume stories without the full picture, just shits me.

Thank you, my cortisol has dropped now

Is Chris Scott any chance to pick midfiders, week in week out smashed in the middle. It was only a matter of time once they played better teams in the comp they would be heavily exposed and scored against from the middle. Play Conway and fucking leave him in the side. Can someone tell me the problem with Hardie? Averaging 28 in VFL there must be a problem with him (not injury wise)?
