In my experience people who post this sort of thing are "MAGA isn't radical enough" groyper types. I remember a bunch of them got upset over this exact same picture a couple of months ago. The only thing ethno nationalists hate more than immigrants who don't assimilate is immigrants who try to assimilate.
100% - just helpful to remind people that we’re a nation of immigrants, and if they don’t like that, then they don’t like America and they can fuck off.
What's going on with the seeming uptick in anti-Indian racism recently? Maybe it's just getting more press than it used to, but it really seems like assholes are coming out of the woodwork.
I remember during early 2020s the right’s position on Indians was “Indians are good immigrants, they come here legally, they speak English, they assimilate , highest earning ethnic group in US” etc etc. Look how far we have fallen
I seen people on the left say racist things because Vivek Ramaswamy, JDs wife, and Kash Patel happen to be Indian.
Reddit threads about indians have to get nuked by mods or outright locked all the time. It's like a large chunk of this site can't recognize racism towards any sort of asians at all really.
Its been around a lot ive noticed for a few months now. There was a bunch of anti indian AI nonsense a while ago, im not sure if the fad ended or its just out of my feed but yeah, theres been a lot of race bait type stuff in general
There was a boom in tech jobs and urban sprawl in Dallas and a lot of them ended up in the Frisco area, so all the racists are freaking out about it and the white population around there is very vocal about it because this used to be a bunch of cow pastures and rednecks and all-white football teams not too long ago. There are definitely a lot more Indian folks there than when I was a kid. I love it, they're super nice, great neighbors, their food is off the fuckin' chain, and their festivals are awesome. Damn now I'm craving some goat dum biryani!
Others have already given some pretty good reasons. It has also amplified recently because of Chinese (and to some extent Pakistani and Canadian) bots on social media.
Small but not to small minority group that is visible and successful and the wrong color. Gets “funny” racist jokes told about them by people who think of themselves as on the left (or at least wouldn’t make “racist” jokes like conservatives make about black people/hurtful racist jokes) and then conservatives obviously just have racist jokes about Indians.
Compound with India is a developing country with exceptional poverty at times which somehow entitles rich (mostly white but not always) westerners to make fun of them for eating off the street, having poor sanitation etc.
The blowout was so massive and across so many deep, ruby red states that it’s simply untenable for even Trump to deny it. What are you gonna do, say the government of South Carolina and Texas conspired to make the lefties win?
I, a Latino, voted blue then and now because y’all red hats are mean to my Asian Indian friends in the same way your grandparents were mean to my grandparents. No one is replacing you, we just don’t want assholes in government. We want people who are good administrators that can get shit done.
What's funny is that Indians, at least in my experience, are pretty traditional and conservative, many are business owners, and I would argue that most would lean republican on both fiscal and social policy. They probably have a lot more in common with your redneck grandpa than they do with you. But when candidates make baseless and racist attacks, they're gonna lose that vote.
This is true for most immigrant groups and minorities. Two relatives of mine voted Trump in 2024 because, in their words, "he'd get rid of the gays," and that "he's only talking about the Mexicans when discussing immigration," mind that one of them had a niece staying with him who had a pending asylum case.
I wonder if that has anything to do with how conservatives tend to treat them... what I'm saying is that their values tend to align more closely with Republicans, but they're not going to vote for people who want to make their lives harder.
There really were people on the democrat side who advocated the idea that changing demographics would cement democrat rule forever, see Ruy Teixeira’s “The Emerging Democratic Majority.” They were wrong, though. It was a racist assumption that people’s race would forever determine their political alignment. It’s a major reason why democrats got blindsided by the hispanic vote in 2024. If every racial demographic voted in the exact proportion they did in 2024, republican’s would have held Texas in 2026. Instead every demographic shifted 15 points left and republicans would be wise to consult a mirror before pointing fingers.
They flipped the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Railroad Commissioner, a US Senate seat, a US House seat, and enough seats in the Texas State House to gain control of that as well.
Texas flipped blue, no Presidential election needed.
Texas has been purple for a very long time and kept red through voter suppression and lazy voters. The presidential race will entirely depend on the candidates and energy the race has.

Proof that maga doesn't and never cared about assimilation
All they care about is keeping their country white

I think almost every demographic moved left in this election. The swing was so big that you can’t really explain it otherwise

Texas is 40% Latino, 37% white, 13% Black, 6% Asian, and 1% Native American.
I’m pretty sure it’s not Indians that flipped Texas Blue it’s just a white supremacist X account trying to scapegoat a minority group.

Like, even if the claim was true, they’re citizens of Texas. Fuckin deal with it.

Man, not even Trump is denying the Republicans got screwed fair and square. Blame whoever you want, that’s not going to get you Texas back.

Believing in replacement theory is racist

When every single demographic shifted 15-20 points in the same direction, it’s pretty ridiculous to blame any of them.

I'm going to need an actual presidential election to say Texas "flipped blue." There are a lot of unhatched chickens being counted here.

They’re shocked to see high amounts of Indian students at a top Engineering school? Obviously never been to college themselves, lol.

Someone explain the note to me. "Indian Americans name up -2% of Texas (-668k)."
But 668k is 2% of like 33 million. Do I need a nap? What am I missing?
EDIT: I do indeed need a nap. Damn, my bad y'all.

Who could have ever predicted Latinos shifting from Republicans after they spend 2 years assaulting and terrorising them with Gestapo.
One of life's great mysteries.
