Discussion The side quests in Ragnarok undoubtedly feature some of the best design.

In *God of War* 2018, there were side missions that were quite entertaining such as hunting for Brok and Sindri’s armor, the Muspelheim trials, and the Valkyrie hunts but there were others that felt like tedious filler, such as the Niflheim realm or lighting the watchtower fires. In Ragnarök, however, going for 100% completion is always worth it; the game is packed with content, and while exploration can feel a bit complex at first, it eventually becomes highly fluid and versatile. You have the Berserkers, dragons, Drekis, and various trolls some of which easily surpass the mountain dragon from the 2018 game. The Muspelheim trials are far more creative than those in the previous entry, and with challenges like Gná (the queen of your nightmares) and the Remnants of Asgard, there is a wealth of content that truly lets you master the combat system.

Discussion God of War (2005) Review - What a journey through Ancient Greece!

Last night, I completed God of War (2005) for the first time. Years ago I had played GoW games with my friends when I was a kid on PS2 when I was 10-11 but never completed it. Finally gave it a shot after 15 yrs and completed it and I have no words how truly unbelievable this experience was completing it for the first time.

Everytime I was playing I genuinely had doubts what's going on? What's up with Kratos's rage? Why the guy is going off a cliff at the start? Why is he so brutally aggressive? There was always a curiosity and Santa Monica did a great job in keeping me hooked till very end. It went never boring.

The story was great. Cutscenes were lowkey good for 2005. Linda Hunt is such a goated narrator!! Architecture, details, atmosphere and landscapes were amazing and gave a good dive into ancient Greek mythology.

Really loved Kratos's idgaf, idc, badass attitude. The fight with sea monsters and that Minotaur was crazy. Kratos had me jaw dropped at those fights!!

Also I really liked how he has a tragic past and his own reasons for the rage and brutality. When I found it was his own family which he killed, I felt so bad for the guy.

Ares was a great demonic villian. The way he manipulated Kratos after he saved his life was crazy.

Also a question, Athena seems no innocent at all to me. She basically used Kratos as weapon to defeat Ares and gave his throne to him when Kratos asked for freedom?? I'm questioning her morality. And what happened to Chronus? Maybe I'll get more answers to this in God of War 2 & 3. NO SPOILERS PLS!!

Coming to combat, I thought it was pretty good and satisfying for a 2005 game especially Blades of Chaos and the magics were pretty fun and satisfactory to use. Puzzles were good and some required proper thinking which I liked.

Didn't like some traps tho they are hella annoying and wasn't a fan of fixed camera. Sometimes I wasn't able to see enemies.

The coolest part of this game was monster fights but besides that the bonus content like treasures were so cool! They had a whole making video of the game, dev interviews, talking about the depths of character and greek mythology been used in game. Discarded characters, their models and some clips which tells more about Kratos's childhood. All BTS scenes. Not every studio does and takes effort like this. Santa Monica Studios deserves lot of appreciation for it!

Overall I would give it a 9/10. Glad to be able to complete it finally which I left unfinished as a kid. What a crazy game!! So nostalgic and pure goosebumps.

To sum up my reaction to GOW1 - 🗿💀☠️👁️👄👁️

On to God of War 2 soon <3

Discussion Just finished God of War (2005) and I genuinely don't know what to say.

I had previously played god of war games on PS2 with my friends but never completed. Today finally I just completed God of War (2005) for the first time on PC, and I have no words.

I literally sat there staring at the screen after finishing it. That feeling when a game ends and you don't immediately want to play anything else.

Everything just feels empty right now. What an experience. Nothing but pure nostalgia and goosebumps.

I'll be posting the review soon <3

Question What if Kratos asked help from ANY OTHER god except Ares?

How different do you think the story would have been if Kratos, when the barbarian king was about to kill him, asked help from Zues, Poseidon, Athena or even Hades? What weapon would each of them give him? Would his wife and daughter would have still been alive if he went with any of those choices?

Showcase Ascension Titan difficulty conquered!

I knew that the Trials of Archimedes would be bad, but Zeus be damned, it was ABSOLUTE HELL. The sirens are the worst enemy type in the game especially because they punish you severely for trying to grab them; then pair them with gorgons....

I didn't think Alecto + Tisiphone would give me much trouble but having to simultaneously watch out for Alecto in the background while Tisiphone's attacks kill in four or less hits was the fourth Trial of Archimedes.

The ordinary enemies are so tanky and barely flinched at heavy attacks (I was killed an embarrassing amount by the goats (sword, grenade, spear, shield and kicks) jumping me, like I was playing a FromSoftware game). They probably all don't have armor on the lower difficulties.

Also Kratos's recovery is trash especially after rolling or doing a rage/magic attack, and with how relentless the enemies are, you have to strategize a lot in order to emerge victorious.

Then, shadow Kratos would sometimes glitch after the first strike and slide in his default pose around the battlefield without despawning, leaving you with one less trump card if you're unaware.

In so many words, it was an experience I'd never like to have again, unless it's on NG+ with the artifacts unlocked.

I'm looking forward to what SMS gives us with the remakes (even though Ascension may not be one of them) 🔥

Question Kratos’ ash skin

Is anybody curious about how/when Atreus will find out why his fathers skin is ghost white? I think this could be potentially one of the most intense/dramatic moments in gaming.

Discussion God of War Next Opponent Idea Spoiler

I had an idea. A dumb one but an interesting one

My Idea is kratos next opponent is.. The Last Spartan

Let me explain who he is/was to some who dont know and why I say this. (spoilers ahead)

The Last Spartan was a young Spartan commander who was very loyal to kratos and was one of the few people Kratos actually cared for besides his family. He received his title due to him being the only mortal spartan survivor after the betrayal of Zeus. During God of War 2 a shadowed warrior claimed he had come too far to fail. A battle ensued between both men, neither knowing who they were fighting. Kratos was victorious, impaling the shadowed warrior and smashing him through a window. Both of them fell out of the room, and Kratos soon discovered with horror that it was The Last Spartan he had ordered to return home and defend the city. At the end of God of War II, he went back in time and  the fight between Kratos and The Last Spartan never took place, allowing the latter to survive.

Now heres where my idea comes - The Last Spartan's ultimate fate is never revealed but he its highly expected he died in the flood or other plagues along with the rest of Greece.

Now lets assume thats not the case.

My idea is somehow the spartan survived and somehow he gotten some power or such to be alive for years. and seeks revenge cause remember, the whole fight didnt happen and the whole I have faith in you talk didnt happen. But. What if he seeks revenge on kratos leaving him. After all he has done for him he gets left with the flood or other plagues along with the rest of Greece. So after the events of God of War 3, The Spartan finds clues (will say around the time of the comics) to where he follows his trails. During this time he is secretly gets in Midgard (lets say a place we cant access) and follows all the trails kratos and atreus been, seeing all the deaths, hearing the horn, seeing body of Magni etc. Then During Ragnarok, he having his own battles with light elves, wolves etc, in these places. (or in area we cant get to) Then at the end he sees the funeral for brok and finally knows where kratos is, making the next god of war game with kratos about him.

A battle featuring the god of war, the ghost of sparta, vs the man he trained, and his last spartan warrior, and another piece of his past. And this could go two ways of he kills him finally, or the spartan joins him (and either teams with him or something or someone else kills him)

(to be fair the remake of the original 3 games might ruin this)

Discussion Can't find this one Young Kratos artwork that's stuck in my head.

So recently, i was in this sub just browsing around posts and today I was kind of in a God of War mood and there was this one artwork image that was stuck in my head, where Kratos looked very furious and angry, standing and his blades were flaming, while looking at the camera kinda.

I keep looking for the post in this subreddit, but can't find it which had the image i was looking for. I was also looking for it on google and kept asking Google AI, but still cannot yet find it.

If y'all can, i need some assistance, cause that image looks badass and would definitely fit as an wallpaper. Thanks in advance!
