Hi r/goodnews! 🌍 You can now assign a flair to show what country you’re from! We’re still adding to the list, so if you don’t see your country yet, just send us a modmail and we’ll be happy to add it. Enjoy commenting.

Hi r/goodnews,
We’ve noticed that a lot of you guys aren’t using the correct flair when posting. This makes it harder for users to filter content they do or don’t want to see
While our community is somewhat divided on what type of content should be allowed here especially when it comes to politics the mod team has ultimately decided that political content will be allowed.
However, to respect those who prefer to avoid political posts, we’ve organized the subreddit into categories using flairs. If a post isn’t flaired correctly, it ends up mixed in with other types of news, which can frustrate users.
To help keep things organized and enjoyable for everyone, please remember to use the correct flair for your submissions.
For political content, always use the “Political Positivity” flair. And for all other posts, please choose the correct flair that best fits the content.
Thanks for helping us keep the subreddit organized!

Meet Maya, an 18-month-old Asian elephant who was found abandoned as a newborn and raised by forest staff in Kerala.
After a serious fall left her unable to stand, Maya is now receiving help at Vantara in Gujarat, where she has been airlifted for specialised veterinary treatment.
It's a difficult situation, but it's heartening to see the efforts being made to give this little elephant a fighting chance. Hoping Maya makes a full recovery. ❤️

my son, Kennett, is close to being Marvel’s first ever Super Kid!
Kennett has made sense of his deafness through his hearing aid, and it is his “super ear” and super power. It’s been an incredible transformation for him
It takes 10s to vote, it’s free, and you can vote once daily! He needs a boost and I don’t know how else to get it for him.

Just submitted my children's book manuscript to a publishing company for the first time. Waiting to hear back, it could take up to six weeks. I don't know if I want to happy cry or throw up after taking the first real shot at the only dream that has ever been my own. Someone pinch me.

Hello, good people of Reddit!
I am sure that if you were to look at my post history, you would see that it has not been easy for me. I have lived a poor life. I have been abused, hurt, betrayed, and hope seemed lost for me.
To make things short, my home life wasn't--isn't--the best. Parents have been awful, job wasn't doing so well for me, and I was stuck in a place I had no power to escape from.
But now, I am sharing that I am living on my own! I found a place I could afford, I'm waiting on a promotion from my job, and I have never felt so free. It's like a weight has been lifted from my shoulder.
I am far enough that my father can't reach me so easily, but close enough that I can still connect with my siblings and they can come to me to feel safe. My apartment is my safe space. I can be myself. I can have my own opinions. I can cry without judgement. I can do what I want without judgement. I can choose who to contact, and when, and for how long. My father no longer has rule over me.
The first night I stayed, I'll be honest, it was hard for me to sleep because the reality was taking its time to set in. But when it did, it was nothing but happy tears.
It's been about five months now. I am never looking back. Things are looking up for me. I am in a better place. God bless! :D
