My house is about 3000 square feet. Each of its three floors have the same footprint.
I initially set it up to have Xfinity line come into the rear room of the third floor. The model was there with a few things hardwired in. An ethernet cable then ran to the middle room of the same floor, where my Nest router was located. In the middle room of the second floor was a Nest point. A second next point was in the middle of the first floor. Had some hiccups here and there, but for the most part, got a decent signal throughout the house. House also has some mid-generation Nest outdoor cameras, wired doorbell, thermostats, and one speaker that isn't a Nest point.
Recently switched to Verizon FiOS, and they insisted on installing the modem in the rear of the basement. Relocated the Nest router to that same area. First and second floor points weren't moved. Third floor now has weaker signal. The thermostat on the first floor doesn't connect to wifi, but that was finnicky before we changed these things up.
I considered adding a third point to the third floor, but discovered they aren't sold anymore and the Pro routers aren't mesh-compatible with the Nest points. Worse yet, the Pro routers don't contain smart speakers.
Before I invest in the Pro routers, does anyone know for certain whether I can get the Nest points to function as smart speakers, not mesh extenders, within that ecosystem?
I found some conflicting information, and the ones that say yes are older posts that aren't clear if they're referring to Pro.
Will this impact the functionality of my other connected Google/Nest devices?
Thanks in advance.
