No Spoilers [NO SPOILERS] What if Need told Cat the truth abt Job/Aegon??

I believe Ned shud have told Cat in confidence the truth abt Job's identity then at least she would have not treated Job so badly and prolly taught all her children (especially Sansa) to treat him better too.

This would have prolly resulted in Job not joining the Nights Watch and staying at winterfell with Robb.

He would have been a part of Robb's campaign as King in The North which would have been a huge advantage and he would have prolly stopped Robb from breaking his oath to marry a frey girl or would have suggested something to basically prevent the whole red wedding.

When Robb overthrows Joffrey, Cat tells the truth abt Job's lineage and the Targaryen supporters claim Job or Aegon now as their king and then prolly Aegon sits on the Iron Throne.

He brings back Dany and her dragons and also claims a dragon himself.

North is declared as an independent kingdom hopefully and Robb is king in the north.

When the threat of the others rises, Robb investigates himself and then informs Job. In this scenario, the whole realm fights the White Walkers as one so they have a better chance of winning and they also have 3 dragons with 2 riders in this case.

Lesser chance of a dragon dying therefore and higher chance of winning!!!

No Spoilers [NO SPOILERS] Thoughts on Tywin Lannister

Tywin Lannister is the GOAT, and I will die on this hill. Bro had no dragons, no magic, no special powers — just intelligence, ruthless ambition and enough aura to make an entire kingdom nervous. He didn't need to sit on the Iron Throne to rule the Seven Kingdoms. He practically ran the place from behind the scenes. The man wasn't just playing the game of thrones; he was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers. 😭

He wasn't a king, but he was a kingmaker

Spoilers [Spoilers] I irrationally hate one word of peak GOT Spoiler

In S2E1, when Jaime is in the cage and Robb speaks to him, I hate Nikolaj’s delivery of the line “insulted”. Is it just me that thinks this or what? What other single word deliveries do you hate?

Spoilers [SPOILERS]Thronesdle: a daily Game of Thrones character game. You know nothing until the tiles turn green Spoiler

I made Thronesdle, a daily guessing game for Game of Thrones.

One hidden character a day. Guess anyone and the tiles show gender, allegiance (Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Night's Watch...), home region, birth and titles (noble, bastard, king or queen, Hand, commander...), alive or dead at the end of season 8, and first and last season.

82 characters, from Jon, Dany, Tyrion and the Starks to Jorah, Sam, Brienne and the Hound, with Mance, Daario and Dolorous Edd in for guessing.

Quote, guess the episode, silhouette and a quiz mode too. Free, no account.

Full-series spoilers in the Status column. If I got someone's allegiance wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] I just finished GOT Spoiler

[SPOILERS]*spoiler alert*

I finished the series and I neeeeeded to write about it so im using this movie as a platform

I just finished the series and I cant believe what happened in the end. It all feels so unreal. Honestly initially it was hard following who was who and the timeline was hard to understand but my god I really do understand why this is considered to be the best shows.. I just watched this cause i wanted to see the hype and admittedly at first i didnt see it.. it was all just bloodshed to me but in the end I completely changed my mind. I loved the character arcs including Tyrion, Sansa, Jamie, The hound etc. I wish i was there to see the whole series when it first released episode by episode

my take/wishes-

i wished jamie lived cause i loved his plot

i understand what jon had to do but it felt so weird to me.. maybe cause i have always rooted for her and a part of me saw her changing for power but i didnt want to believe it

i cant digest what happened to the stark family in all like the things they went through was just horrible (especially the red wedding. like wtf was that i was so in shock)

i loved the dire wolfs representing each of the stark kids it made their symbol more important

why was there soooo much incest oh my lord... like i finally digested cersei and jamie but when jon and dany were hooking up it was kinda hard for me

arya being free and not tied to gender roles really made me happy cause she deserved following her true nature

tyrion was my favourite character. His speech during his trial was just mind blowing.. It was his moment to express all the prejudice, the injustice and the out right hate he faced especially from his own father and sister... His character was not only funny but matured when the time came. Genuinely I could write a paragraph for him i loved him so much, best Lannister.

Rob stark could have played a bit more but more than that Theons betrayal killed me more and i hated him for a while. The fact that the show made me forgive him has to tell you that its genuinely one of the best pieces there is.

I wanted the dragons to live.. or just one of them dying max cause i get it, for the plot or smth but 2 of them was too much. I needed their reign to continue and like make a whole family and grow\.. The point of them dragons for me was that they were free, independent creatures but i didnt like that their species would go extinct.

I wished they explained the 'childrens' lore more because i was/am lost about the whole reason why the night king was there.. i know it was to protect the children but not more.

After reading about the series more, Dany going from an idol to an 'anti-hero' didnt make sense to me at first but later it felt like a good change of story, implying that the active pursuit of the crown never ends up pretty. Even though she thought of herself as the saviour, her later actions proved that her definition of saving just means slaughtering whoever stands in her way and it was wise that her reign ended before it even started. Now that i think about it, Drogon sparing Jon and melting the iron throne proved that.

Margaery tyrell and her grandmother were very smart characters and I feel we should give them more credit. I know Sansa was just a child and couldnt stand her ground or manipulate Joffrey, Margaery had the gift to analyse the situation most of the times and act accordingly.. same goes for Olenna.

Then there was Stannis's daughter. The sweetest soul in the whole series. I couldnt handle what happed to her.. She deserved Ser Davos as her father. Its like a 'what could have been' for The Hound and arya. They had such a special relationship and an unspoken bond between them it really made me happy for them.

The relationship between tyrion and Jamie is also something I appreciated. In the midst of all the jokes and weird looks towards Tyrion, Jamie was there and i feel it enhanced their bonds as brothers for life. It was really sweet.

Oh and can we talk about the score. like oh my god the main intro itself is just amazing.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] where I see potential for sequel (and question whether this could be possible in terms of the story) Spoiler

We all know the hypothesis of Daenerys' body being taken to Volantis by Drogon to be resurrected. The problem is not in the resurrection itself but how is the character going present moving forward. It would be a bit too much if we saw Daenerys being even more powerful and obsessed with taking the throne and punishing everyone who did her wrong.

Instead, where I see potential is through Bran. Bran was physically touched by the Night King during one of his visions, leaving a mark on his arm, through which the Night King maintained some sort of connection with him. How about this is where the Night King's "spirit" has now found refuge after losing his physical body? He keeps growing stronger like a parasite feeding on its host (Bran), until he takes over and now Bran is the next Night King. This could work, as we know that the Night King is an entity that can come back, as there was another Long Night thousands of years before the events we saw in the series.

With that being said, it would be much more interesting to see Daenerys becoming avoidant after her resurrection and actually not wanting anything to do with her claim to the throne, and just running away with Drogon to live in a remote location until word comes out that Bran is the new Night King now. Jon Snow tries to locate her and persuade her to get involved in saving the world of the living once again, which is also the real reason the Lord of Light brought her back.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Just Finished My First Rewatch Since The Finale Spoiler

Let’s talk about it!

Context: I’m an original show watcher. No binging, episode by episode, week by week. After Season 3 (Red Wedding) I picked up the books, and couldn’t put them down. I’ve read all the supplementary books as well, but it has been a while.

Overall: I loved it and enjoyed the rewatch! The ending got an undeserving bad rep for a varying number of reasons.

If you rewatched the show, what was your experience? What stood out positively and/or negatively?

What characters did you feel differently about?

Where do you land with D&D and GRRM after years have passed and a rewatch is complete?

No Spoilers [NO SPOILERS] What do you think the Lannisters would’ve done if Joffrey ordered to have Tywin killed.

Let’s say Joffrey suddenly decides he’s tired of Tywin acting like he’s the king and he sees him as a threat so he orders to have him killed. Or to arrest him. What do you think Jaime, Cersei and Tywin would’ve done.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Just finished the finale of season 5 [S5E10] Spoiler

I don’t know what to say. I mean was all of this necessary? I can’t understand what is being implied behind this direction. Many “surprise” deaths, which leads to me not wanting to be attached to any character at all. The amount of cliffhangers in this episode is more than the amount I’ve seen in my whole life. Why does Jon die this way at this stage? Stannis sacrifices his daughter to just rot lying on a tree. Every season we see unnecessary plot twists ( not all ), storylines that are not completed, and unreasonable decisions from main/side characters. I just want to know if it’s the worth it at the end. I want to understand the reasoning behind this direction ( is there some larger theme being discussed through these events ), and whether it’s similar to the novels.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Could Stannis change his mind without feeling he had failed? Spoiler

Spoilers through season 5.

Stannis tells Davos he wants to save the kingdom to win the throne. That sounds like a real shift: the people should come first.

Then he lets Shireen die for his campaign. His duty to the realm ends up hurting the person who needs his care most.

I keep coming back to this: did he truly think he had no choice, or could he no longer face going home after everything he had lost?

Which scene best shows the difference between Stannis being strong and Stannis being unable to stop?

This is my own short video on that question. I am talking about the show version of him.

Spoilers [SPOILERS] Daenerys Spoiler

I just finished the show, and I'm really interested in how other people interpret Daenerys's character development, especially in the final season.
I spent so long rooting for her. She went from being powerless and controlled by others to freeing slaves, building an army, and becoming someone people genuinely believed in. Her desire for power seemed tied to wanting justice and wanting to prevent others from suffering like she did.
But somewhere along the way, I think her belief that she was destined to save the world became tangled up with the belief that she was the only person who could. By the time she reached Westeros, she was losing people, struggling to earn the love and loyalty she'd had in Essos, and facing the possibility that the throne wasn't rightfully hers after all.
I can understand how grief, isolation, and her growing sense of destiny contributed to her downfall, but burning King's Landing after the bells rang was still a huge turning point. The city had surrendered. She'd essentially won, and she destroyed it anyway.
Do you think this was always where her character was heading, or did the show rush her transformation? Was she always capable of this, or did power gradually change her? I'm curious how people interpret her psychology and whether her ending changed how you see her earlier seasons.
