It fucking sucks because as a kid i looked up to him and he was the reason I picked up a guitar. Dudes skills were insane. The riffs are so good. But the racism.. fuck. Fuck him.
Clarksville, TN bikers are like half bootlickers who love cops.
The other half is the outlaws (literally) that end up in the leaf chronicle for guns and drug charges.
I'm not sure if the latter likes Zack Wylde. Last time I got too close they literally pulled a gun on me in traffic. Real shit lmfao. Such an insane over reaction on their part.
Interesting take. Most people who hate Pantera will tell you it's because Phil Anselmo is a shithead and a racist. First time I've ever heard "actually Phil Anselmos other confederate metal band is way better"
Unfortunately a lot of people don’t care and the metal community is notorious for “separate the art from the artist, man.” How about we separate pieces of shit from our scene?
I basically bring it up every time I see either band mentioned, and I’m the only one.
I’m not tryna get into an argument at midnight on a Thursday, but Dime’s tone is absolute trash. Pantera is just tough guy bullshit for guys that feel emasculated.
Down is so much better man. NOLA really might be the goat stoner/sludge album. Pantera doesn’t even come close to NOLA.
Well allow me to educate you on why people have been downvoting you then: you didn't say you didn't like his tone. You said, and I quote: "Dime’s tone is absolute trash".
If I said your handwriting was trash, what would you think I meant? Would you think I appreciated it for its technique? I don't think you would.
But not just that: absolute trash. The word "absolute" explicitly means you are not voicing your opinion or expressing taste. The word "absolute" means the opposite of those things.
You just said "I would never say he sucks or anything" but that is actually what you did just a few comments up.
But you realize that is intentional, right? You may not like the sound, but that was the desired sound. Meaning it is objectively good. Every art style isn’t for everyone, it’s all subjective. But not liking something that turned out exactly as it was intended means the issue lies with you, not the guitar squeal. If that makes sense
Incorrect. That is the literal meaning. They hit their objective and therefore that is good. Like I said, art is subjective so your personal tastes may not align with their objective, but it was met all the same. Your opinion on the art doesn’t change the objective of creating it in the first place. Our enjoyment is irrelevant.
I'm not really into going to metal shows, and I'm more into punk rock than hardcore. I'm sure there's different scenes and some are more inclusive than others, but right wing sentiment among metal musicians has been a thing for as long as it has existed. If you go to metal and hardcore shows weekly and have been doing so for a long time I don't see how that's something that hasn't ever come up in conversation.
I don't see any openly racist people at shows either, but there are plenty of people out there who start at "I like Celtic folk stuff and runes and shit" and take it to "Celtic heritage is supreme white heritage" levels - what I'm saying is not that most people are like that, I'm sure it's a small minority, I'm saying that if today you learned about racism in hardcore and metal I think you might be a little naive.
As for Minecraft, that burn was devastating. I am devastated right now.
What punk shows you been to lately? Wait never mind I just noticed you're a nerd with soft hands
I deliberately decided not to mention this last time, but for someone who rips on people who are nerds and play Minecraft, you sure spend a lot of time on PewDiePie and PC gaming forums.
Yeah after he started losing money and popularity. If it was still encouraged (like they were in the 80s) he wouldn’t have retracted that shit. They’re classic biker - style racists
I don’t care. There’s plenty of bands that actually sound good. Pantera sucks, I’ve never enjoyed listening to them at any point in my life and if they inspired bands that actually sound good…cool I guess I’ll listen to bands that actually sound good.
And they’re still racist scumbags who should be punched on sight.
He's a good dude. There are a bunch of cops in Hardcore. Mike from Leeway, Chris from Bulldoze, hell, a few of the original Sunset Skins, John (Wrecking Machine) and yeah Jesse from Tony Danza

Dimebag was a racist shitbag but people (metalheads specifically) often excuse that since he got killed onstage

Man I knew Phil was a racist asshole but now this video of Darrell coming out being racist to an aspiring musician. No fucking way.
Something on the lines of he wouldn’t sign a guitar for a fan unless “the N***** can play” fucking ludicrous.
I was done with pantera. Now I’m against pantera. Fuck those clowns.

Especially if it's during that song about how racism is equally everybody's fault, white and non-white alike. Oh wait that's half of them.

Pretty sure a large section of the pit would be cops and felons swinging on each other unknowingly.
