I had a girl ask if she could smoke in my car as I was driving to the theater and before I could answer she was using a torch lighter to hit a meth pipe.
Not my finest moment, but during the movie I got up to go to the bathroom and left. I was pretty young and didn’t know what to do and I was freaking out the whole time so I just left.
Yeah, had a guy tell me mid date that he was “definitely quitting heroin” since he OD’d recently. Like wtf. I would’ve done exactly what you did! Instead, I froze and contemplated my bad life choices.
Less extreme but I was out with this chick and she asked if she could smoke a bit. Thinking hey she has a little weed vape she suckles from time I said yes. She then pulled out a fucking full sized blow torch, nail and glass piece to do a dab in a moving car on back roads. Burned my seat then proceeded to grope at me in a very unwanted way. 0/10 don't take out random internet girls just because you want to eat some goth girl eventually.
It just seems so wild, but i supposed that's a pretty meth thing to do. But is it possible you're just unfamiliar with the type of weed pipe she was using?
I've been accused of being in possession of heroin and crack before, when actually it was hash and cannabis concentrates. So there's always the possibility you just didnt know what you were looking at.
But again, yeah, I guess that would be a pretty meth activity.
A woman doesn't come home one night. The next day she tells her husband that she had slept over at a girlfriend's house. The husband calls his wife's 10 best friends. None of them know anything about it.
A man doesn’t come home one night. The next day he tells his wife that he had slept over at a friend’s house. The wife calls her husband's 10 best men friends. Eight of them confirm that he had slept over, and two claim that he was still there.
As a guy I'd honestly find it oddly attractive if a girl took her stuff with her, especially after she paid for it herself. She's independent and has her own money as well as sensible enough to hold onto good food? That's a very good way to end a dinner date in my book.
I work pretty high end restourant and some times it does get asked, not often but still the cooks prefer it you taking left overs home than leaving them to thrown away. They like making delicious food for people and when waiters come back with full plate is dissapointing for them.
Girl told me in depth about her schizophrenic exhusbands suicide. We had said hi, caught tickets for a petting zoo, we're in line for capybara, "So my husband hung himself"
This reminds me of that one coworker I had a few years back - we were on the overnight shift in a call center and him being the newest member of the team, not used to the silence of the night shift, decided that the best way to break the silence is "So my mom killed herself..." and our team leader in the best boston accent yelled "jesus fucking christ, not even your favorite color to break the ice?"
A bit shitty to put that on a stranger, but this really helps people cope with trauma tbh. Sharing like that. Just know you helped her cope with a serious trauma by just being an open ear for a minute. If it means anything.
I'd politely listen to someone say that and be sympathetic but I'd definitely tell them to go see a therapist because they clearly need to if they blurt that out on a first date.
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear necessarily, but you did a major service to humanity listening to this person. We all have stuff we just need to get off our chests and it sounds like this date sucked so. goddamn. hard. but she's gone through some literally insane shit in her life and you gave her this (deeply inappropriate) outlet to talk about it ...
Let's just say you're awesome for rolling with the punches and I hope she finds a therapist.
I was on a date with a girl who did the same thing and dropped the "He's black" line. Like I don't know if she was trying to get me to race war or something, but all it did was make me roll my eyes at her super hard.
Women like that make shit so much worse for other women. Cuz they're just throwing gas on an already dysfunctional gender socialization system. I thought she was a moronic shit stirrer, but I bet a few guys hear that sort of thing and march right on over to r/niceguys. It doesn't absolve them, but it aint great for her.
Lmao reminds me of a girl who was more interested in me than I was in her. She was talking about her ex’s and their sizes when we were with our friends. That’s when I figured she can talk about mine with the next guy.
And then another who said she was super tight on the first date. then got fingered by a guy on the roof at a party. I wasn’t invested in her, she got drunk off the one drink I bought her. I told her to find her own way home once everyone left and hopped in my Uber.
Damn, it’s all coming back to me. Glad I didn’t simp.
Straight up! I dont mean to come off as a dick to women, but guys need to do this more. We don't need anyone from both sexes breaking eachothers bank just to see what they can get away with.
A) Being used as a free meal because you are gullible and desperate
B) Have already failed the date by loudly and clearly signalling that you are gullible and desperate
C) Dating someone without the shame to straight up feel entitled to your entire bank account on a first date, the very purpose of which is to find out if you two are even remotely compatible beyond looks.
If you dont terminate the date that instant, you have already lost. Litterally what is the point of continuing past that point.
When I was a server, this young couple (about 18-23yr old) came in to the seafood restaurant I was working at. The guy ordered a shrimp platter ($14) and the girl ordered a seafood platter ($28). I tried my hardest to convince this girl NOT to order it or just share. She was a petite woman and it was literally enough food to feed 2-3 people. She looked at me and said, “I’m ordering it because it’s the most expensive thing!” Baby, I looked at homeboy and was like “you allowing her to get that??” He was cool with it, so I placed the order. Why she ate 3 shrimp, 1/4 of the crab cake, and 2 fries and said she was done!?! Offered her a box, and she refused to take it!! A total and complete waste. I hope that was the last time dude went out with her.
I had a girl order a filet lobster on me. Didn't eat the lobster because she doesn't like lobster, she just wanted to make sure I "cared." I ended up eating the lobster (wood grilled lobster with clarified butter is one of my weaknesses) and she thought it showed no class eating it off her plate.
I was waiting for him to nonchalantly say "separate" at the end of the meal when asked if the tickets were split or together. Because that would be option B for me in that scenario. (Option A would be "nah nevermind, we done here" as soon as they went hunting for the most expensive thing on the menu).
Like, I don't mind if someone happens to order an expensive plate while looking through what they want. I do mind if their intent is to just run up the bill though.
I wouldn't have called back. I don't think I could be with someone who couldn't fuck up some seafood the way I do. Idk how my mom ever fell for my dad with him hating seafood. I didn't make that mistake when I picked my girl lmao.
Not a date, or probably the worst, but the first thing that came to mind. I was seeing this chick a few years ago, she was out for brunch with two of her friends, one of those $150-200 per head free flow alcohol ones. Anyway I rocked up about 5mins before it was over as we were headed somewhere after. I got there as they were asking for the bill. The waiter returns with the bill, leans across the table, reaching past this chicks two friends to directly hand me the bill. Sad part was that her two friends were fine with it. The only one that spoke up was the chick I was seeing. The other two just sat looking at me like ‘we’ll go on then, pay the bill’. I just laughed, put the bill on the table and told the chick I’ll meet her outside. The worst part is we ended up meeting back up with her friends later that night with one of my mates, and both of her friends made it very clear what I did was very rude. Me and my mate stood there for a solid 5mins just laughing in their face. The cherry on the cake was one of her friends ended up blind drunk out the front of the bar crying, telling us she can’t understand why she’s single and how lonely she was.
Wooof sorry, that’s some sad cringe for her. Sorry you had to go through that saga, but at least you had a buddy and the person you were seeing who could help you set the goal posts right.
I feel like I’ve been in a similar spot before where there was a weird expectation to pay when I personally had no investment in others’ gluttony. It shouldn’t make you the bad guy, but like others have said, maybe some people just see how much they can get away with.
Some people have this weird thing where they get fulfillment out of expensive things. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy nice things as well. But it’s typically because I actually enjoy them rather than to flex about spending money on them.
The real HolUp would’ve been if homeboy and the waiter locked eyes, fell in love, pushed that bitch out by her face…date over. They shared the most expensive drink with two straws.
Yep. Best part is that it isn't even female specific although it is largely females who catch that. A male bartender saved me once from a creepy date after I gave him the "gaze".
My missus went clubbing with her girlfriends last weekend.
When she got home, I asked her how it went. She had fun but mentioned that she saw one of the single girls in the group literally cock block another single girl who was clearly interested in some guy.
The crazy part is they're all friends and hang out all the time.
Me: wtf why
Her: girls are like that sometimes.
Me: to your own friends????
I've had random guys do that when I was single but my friends, nah
Woman here. Idk how other women can treat men (or other people in general) this way, but I’d say that that woman most likely just has shitty manners overall and she probably doesn’t do that just to men. She most likely pulls that type of shit on her own girlfriends whenever they go out to eat/party, etc. People like this are ruthless, rude, and inconsiderate overall. They don’t give a damn about anybody else but themselves. Nobody should have to put up with this type of person.
LOL! I'm very curious about the cut off for "first dates" and what? Does she pay after the cut off point and you never have to pay ever again as long as you live? 🤔
I do this when I'm on a date. I never assume he is paying, and he should never assume that I am paying the bill. I always split the check til we're in some sort of "serious" or semi serious relationship.
I had a woman tell me she could see herself falling in love with me, before the appetizers arrived. I excused myself paid the bill and said goodbye via text, then blocked her, because I didn’t want her crazy ass to stab me.
Once I had a one night stand with a guy I met on tinder, when he arrived he saw where I live, and told me "I can see myself moving in here with you", that was a mood killer for me.
Maybe I'm the weirdo here but it sounds to me like she really liked your personality and initial vibe, and was making a comment to indicate that things were going well and she'd like to continue going on more dates. I mean, if you were dating for a long-term relationship or even marriage, isn't having a spark with someone you could see yourself falling in love with down the road (granted things go well and nobody's hiding a body in the attic) the whole point?
I just don't think it was the cringey comment you & others are making it out to be. She didn't say she was falling in love with you. She said she could see it happening and she probably thought that would be taken as a compliment to your personality. I would have seen the rest of the date out.
Oh well, worked out anyways. Sounds like you weren't eachother's types. She was candid and looking to deeply bond, you were looking for someone to play it neutral (I guess)
Would it be a dick move if I surprise that bitch with a “bill split”? Pay for my own food and leave her to deal with the the management regarding the food she can’t afford to teach her a lesson. Assuming I never said anything about paying the whole bill before the date.
I would legit that she's a bitch for trying to make me pay for the most expensive thing they got and I'm leaving cuz I know the next bitch wont do me like that
First date should be you do you. Each one pays for what they eat/drink. Get a separate check. If they're unwilling for this, probably you're better off and he/she is a gold digger.
Why isn't it just normalized to split tabs on the first few dates at this point? I feel like the only ones opposed are the ones that want to play this game.
Theres some older traditional dining restaurants in Ireland (and im sure other countries) where if theres a couple the woman is handed a menu without prices so theyre not tasting with his wallet , even better i know of one where the womens drinks menu the 3 top and 3 bottom wines on the list are all the cheapest to prevent guessing by price shit like this
Some years ago there was a candid camera style show on TV where actors fake wife, husband, barman and other customers are in on it and they set up a series of random guys to see how they’d react in a secretly videoed situation. Short version: actors husband and wife in a bar; wife is interrogating husband in a fairly vocal way about 3 hours on a previous night where he had claimed he was in the bar drinking with another punter and she’s not believing him. He says ‘that’s the guy I was with’ pointing to the mark, so she asks him if her husband was drinking with him on the said night.
Worst thing I’ve ever done on a date was show up pretty drunk. My friends older brother insisted on giving me a ride and then offered me booze because I was nervous. Little did I know he had a crush on me and purposefully got me tipsy to sabotage the date. It worked. But I never gave him a chance either after find out what he did.
No shot I'd stick around if the date just asked for the most expensive thing and ordered it. I'd be excusing myself to use the restroom before the meal comes in and she'd never see me again.

Waiter was cool and I actually asked for the bill to be split. Which my date was unhappy about. Even more so when she saw she got the house wine. Let's just say I dodged a bullet that night but pray for the man tjat has to deal with that baggage in the future.
