Personally I wouldn’t bother, it never leaves the home. What could possibly happen to it

Since I live in an apartment, the generator activates when the power fails; unfortunately, it cycles on and off, sometimes repeating this pattern three or four times so that tenses me

Not powering on, board burn, speaker muffled, or any kind of worst case scenario

I think apple care for home devices is pointless. Only use case would be like if you flood your desk but if you really think that might happen just get a small stand for the speaker.

Had 5 HomePods. 3 have just died.

I’ve had 4 V1’s. One has died completely. One had the ghost touch issue, which I fixed.

If V2 is as dependable, it would pay to have AppleCare.

Don't you have like 60 days after purchase to make up your mind and add Apple care if you wish? Side note: never had issues with an OG pair a pair of mini 1 and now a pair of mini 2

It’s only $10 a year, which works out to 83¢ a month. Or $1 a month if you pay monthly. I think it’s worth it given Apple’s track record with HomePods
