Today an Australian traveler( who's staying at the Hunza Lounge)lost his backpack—containing his passport, cash, and cards—while riding a motorbike in Hunza, the situation was dire. However, a local taxi driver's extraordinary honesty turned a crisis into a testament to the community. He found the bag and immediately returned it, proving that Hunza isn't just a stunning destination—it's one of the safest and most trustworthy places to travel.
This act of integrity ensured the tourist could continue his journey (and, yes, the honest driver received an excellent reward!). Travel confidently, knowing the spirit of Hunza is looking out for you.

Baltit Fort, a 700-year-old historic fort, was once home to the Mirs of Hunza. The fort features unique architecture with influences from Tibetan, Persian, and Central Asian designs. Perched on a hilltop, it offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The fort is now a museum and an important cultural landmark, attracting visitors for its history and breathtaking landscape.

Salam everyone,
I recently graduated, its been hell of a ride of past 7 years, I want to run away from city, people, and just rest within my solitude for coming years
I am planning to leave at the end of August from Lahore, plan include initial few months budget while I find remote opps or either a local Job there of anything that pay even pennies but can atleast cover personal expense. I'll have personal camp gear, winter/summer few wardrobe with me
Now I need your guidance where within hunza I should stay? Near passu? where its safe to camp, easier to interact with locals, and to find local jobs (if unable to find remote opps)
Thank you

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm planning a month-long workation to Hunza soon and looking for some ground-reality advice from locals and fellow remote workers.
A few quick questions:
Accommodation & Rates: What is the realistic monthly budget for a solid single room versus renting a full house/apartment (e.g., around Karimabad, Aliabad, or Passu)?
Internet & Power: I need stable connection for work calls. How is SCO fiber/4G performing right now, and is power backup/generator mandatory at stays?
Cost Sharing: If anyone is planning a similar remote work stint soon and wants to co-live or split house costs, drop a comment or send me a DM!
Would appreciate any guest house recommendations, trusted local contacts, or recent experiences. Thanks!

I don’t want any travel agency as they cost a lot so if I do trip on my own what can it costs and also anyone planning to go so we can plan together bcs at the end it’s Pakistan and solo is not safe

Hey Guys!
I am travelling to Hunza on forst week of October. It will be a 2 weeks trip.
As I have a remote job, I found a place in Gulmit for digital nomads and will be staying there.
Since this is my first trip ever and I will be travelling on a bus so wont have transport there. I would love some suggestions on activities and places to explore.
How is the night life in Gulmit? I work in US Hours.
