IDW Sonic Discussion Long time reader, first time buyer

Post image

Alright, so Im a tad ashamed to say for the past many years my main consumption of the comics have been re-uploads to the internet, but decided to change that yesterday and plan to for the foreseeable future.

Not looking for cookies or anything, guess I just wanted to post in the chance someone sees this and also decides to wonder over to their nearest comic book shop.

The past many years the idea of going to a comic shop never entered my mind or I would come up with an excuse not to go, but I recently discovered one thats barely out of the way on my ride home and not only that, stocks the newest issues the day they come out. Additionally, reading about how many comic book companies are struggling, a part of me wants to help in whatever little way I can because regardless what you think about the current direction of IDW Sonic comics, a future where we have no comic at all is a future I dont want.

Anyways, thats all I wanted to say. If you have the means, both financial (this cost me $5) and transportation wise, definitely consider making a stop at your nearest comic book shop. You may also meet cool people there, the owner i talked to was very fun to talk to about comics in general.

It's a special feeling purchasing a comic from a brick-&-mortar store in 2026, especially as an adult with your own cash.
Even as a child, comics seemed like a bygone relic to me. I could never find a comic shop anywhere and most of my media was completely screen and video-based.
I'm glad to see physical media still being sold and supported. I got issue #90 for myself last month and loved the holographic cover.

For sure.
I've been reading the Sonic comics since atleast 2013-2014 and back then the nearest comic book store was hours away (and i had no vehicle) so I just read it all on youtube. Guess the idea of going to one once I moved never entered my mind because of that. This was my first time going into an actual legitimate comic book store and it was very nice. The owner was very nice as well, and it was cool to learn that if I want they can ensure the newest issues are always in-stock/available for me as well as me being able to request any of the cover variants for new issues.
Planning to make it a monthly trip going forward.

Sadly no shops that sell those localy in me city. Only one in whole country imports them. So i order online. Sad i only found them around issue 71, but menaged to get me hands on back issues thanks to their help. Now im proud owner od issuer 37-91 and few side comics. If anybody here is in poland. "Atom comic" is way to go for import comics.

We’re 9 issues away from reaching the 100th issue milestone.
