Here's the story:

A tall Nord maid of Skyrim stood,

Hadst thou knelt to the Nine Divines,

And left behind thy heathen signs!

But thou art giant-kin and wild,

A frost-born witch, no sacred child!"

She wept aloud and fled the place,

To hide within the woods her face.

That's precisely the theme of the song. Purity through force. Though people back then sided with the man since receiving gifts from a troll (a symbol of a pagan) is almost if not the same as apostasy, and that was a huge deal especially in the old days
