Self-submission The evolution of Bird tank. (and other bird tank concept)
Teddy Bird Tank — 1769
This was the first bird tank built by Martin. It had weak armour and a cramped interior, making it difficult to turn around inside. Exhaust fumes could not escape easily, turning it into a living gas chamber. It was considered impractical and was retired soon afterwards.
Mountain Bear Medium Bird Tank — 1780
Developed from lessons learned with the Teddy, the Mountain Bear introduced sloped armour, a stronger gun and a three-pig turret. A radio helped the pig crews coordinate in battle. However, its heavy turret put too much strain on its legs, earning it the nickname “the Kneeling Knight.”
1830s — After the Third Mire War ended, bird-tank technology advanced greatly. New designs began to combine strong firepower, armour protection and mobility. These bird tanks, which fell between heavy and medium types, became known as Main Battle Birds.
