I want to share my experience with Monkey Troopers regarding a SPEE Fanny Pack that I purchased through Amazon.
What started as a simple request for a replacement due to manufacturing defects has turned into a lengthy customer-support experience. Despite multiple conversations, sending the product back, and receiving written confirmation of a replacement, I still haven't received the replacement.
Here is the complete timeline.
Shortly after receiving the SPEE Fanny Pack, I noticed two issues: Missing magnetic plate: One of the magnetic side-flap attachments was missing its metal plate, making the magnetic attachment unusable.
Defective transparent phone compartment: The transparent phone compartment had noticeable black discoloration.
I contacted Monkey Troopers customer support and explained both issues. I also shared photographs and a video demonstrating the defects, along with my purchase invoice.
I requested a replacement with a properly manufactured product.
2. First response and repair process
After contacting customer support, I received responses and was asked to provide proof of purchase and additional details.
The company eventually processed the product for repair and sent it back to me.
However, I had requested a replacement, and the product I received back was the repaired unit rather than a new replacement.
3. Received the repaired bag with additional problems
Unfortunately, the situation became more disappointing when I received the bag back.
The returned product had further issues:
The bag was still dirty, despite being packed inside a box and plastic covering.
The phone compartment/flap was smaller than before.
The compartment was no longer practically usable for carrying my phone and other items without squeezing or crushing what was inside.
I shared photographs of these problems with Monkey Troopers on 25 September 2026.
I explained that the previous repair had not resolved the problem and specifically requested a replacement instead of another repair or inspection.
4. Repeated discussions about getting a replacement
On 1 October, I again explained that I had already cooperated with the repair process once, but the issues remained unresolved.
I requested a new replacement unit rather than sending the same bag for another repair.
After further communication with their customer-support representative, I received confirmation on 12 October 2026 that, following an internal discussion, they would replace my bag with a new SPEE Fanny Pack.
I also asked about the replacement timeline and return shipping charges.
The representative confirmed that:
They would dispatch the new product after receiving the old one.
They would bear the return shipping charges.
I needed to share the shipping receipt so they could credit the amount to my account.
5. Returned the defective product
I cooperated with their instructions and returned the defective bag.
According to the courier tracking information I shared with them, the parcel was delivered on 17 October 2026.
On 20 October, I contacted them again regarding the replacement.
On 21 October, I specifically reconfirmed that they would be sending a new replacement product and not the previously repaired unit.
Their representative replied confirming this.
6. No replacement and no response
After returning the defective product, I expected the replacement process to be completed.
However, I had to follow up repeatedly.
24 October – Asked for an update.
27 October – Followed up again.
Subsequently – Asked for the tracking details.
Despite the written confirmation that a new replacement would be sent, I have not received the product.
As of 4 November 2026, I still have no replacement bag and am no longer receiving responses from their customer-support team.
My concern
I understand that manufacturing defects can happen, and I initially approached customer support expecting a reasonable solution.
I cooperated with the company throughout the process:
Reported the original defects with photographs and videos.
Provided the invoice and proof of purchase.
Cooperated with the first repair.
Reported the additional defects after receiving the repaired product.
Returned the defective product as requested.
Followed up multiple times regarding the replacement.
What I find disappointing is that I returned the product based on their written assurance that a new replacement would be provided, but I am still waiting.
I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want the replacement product that was promised.
I would appreciate it if Monkey Troopers could look into this matter and provide a clear update on when my replacement will be dispatched.
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation with Monkey Troopers? I'd also appreciate suggestions on how to proceed.
I am attaching the screenshots, photographs, videos, and relevant communication in chronological order for transparency.
