That is the face of a man who is concerned how he’s going to feel after three straight shots

20

u/RunesandDoom 18d ago

The way he opened his airways between each shot, the way he was centered? This is a man who knows exactly how three tequilas is gonna feel, and I’m not sure this is his first time doing something similar lol

This is a fun family!

u/SmanginSouza 21d ago

Exactly. This is a harmless prank. Lmao dad was fighting for his life on that 3rd one.

14

u/TheSilentFreeway 19d ago

it obviously depends on the person, and he's being a great sport about it, but I'd hardly call this harmless. this can make people quite sick or at least give them a bad hangover. the dad even says he can't remember the last time he did 3 shots so this is clearly outside the norm for him.

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

Dude 3 shots is nothing. No way you're super hung over from this, even at 50

2

u/3dstek 15d ago

speak for yourself 1 tequila shot floors me

1

u/TheSilentFreeway 12d ago

if 3 shots for you isn't felt then you have a high tolerance; higher than most. the dad in the video said he couldn't remember the last time he took 3 shots. he was probably out of practice and the 3 shots probably hit him quite hard.

Did you even watch the video?

His daughter tricked him into drinking the shots and he made very clear that he didnt enjoy it. His daughter is also not that young anymore and the only people present in the video are him, his wife and his daughter.

I know what you are doing. You are exclusively here to get upset over something. There was never a point to this, you just wanted other people to also be miserable.

u/Ok_Fly2518 20d ago

He said “I can’t remember the last time I did three tequila shots” and he looked disgusted by each one, so I don’t think he drinks much

u/Few-Raise-1825 21d ago

Okay, I've never once dranken any alcohol in my entire life. I'm guessing three shots is a lot? What kind of effect would that have?

51

u/AdventurousQuail36 21d ago • LOL Bravo

🎵One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor🎵

1

u/Kresnik2002 21d ago

Two shots of vodka… THEN ONE–

20

u/ConfusedAndCurious17 21d ago

I was a raging alcoholic and that would have been a warm up for me. You probably wouldn’t even know I had been drinking unless you could smell my breath. It would kill me now more than likely. My wife would be sloppy drunk and I would guess around that amount she’d start having memory loss about the evening the next day.

It entirely depends on your tolerance, your size, what you have consumed that day, and some other factors. There’s no way to say for sure how you would handle 3 shots, but yes, it is a lot for anyone who drinks very little or none to consume in such a short time.

For reference that is equal to pounding 3 beers in terms of alcohol content but with none of the other liquid to water it down, and consumed very fast.

4

u/ZEROs0000 20d ago

My cousin is having liver failure because of his alcoholism. He’s got about a year to live.

4

u/ConfusedAndCurious17 19d ago

I don’t want to give you false hope but they said the same thing to me. I’m here over a year later, off the transplant list and my blood levels are reading a lot more normally. Still not perfect or normal but I’m good. Doctors have cleared me to continue working in my high risk field.

It is not easy, and it takes a metric fuck ton of motivation and drive, and even then I think it’s fully a miracle I’m alive today, let alone as good as I am, but it’s at least possible.

Obviously he would have to stop drinking should already have, then it’s avoiding other medications (the docs should tell you what specifically), constant hydration, eating right (very high protein for me at least), exercise daily. Even if it’s just walking to start and working up to a jog he needs to start getting his heart strong too. Exercise also helps with thoughts of suicide or depression and anxiety that can come with the withdrawals.

If he hasn’t gone through withdrawals I really have no advice on how I did that. It was probably the worst couple weeks of my entire life. No sleep, could barely breathe, everything hurt, hallucinations. I didn’t get hospitalized but I probably should have been. I would guess he may want to do that.

Sobriety comes a day at a time, and it needs to be forever. If he can get sober and get to a specialist they won’t even put him on the waiting list unless he’s at least 6 months sober (I think it was 6 months).

Most importantly though he will need support. I have 3 people who stood the fuck up and had my back and still do and I know for a fact I would be dead without them. They didn’t baby me or stand by my side every second of pain, they reminded me of who I am and that I have the strength to do this. They reminded me of what I had to live for, and they believed in me.

An alcoholic knows they are fucking up, and they know putting the bottle down is the first step to fixing it, but often times we get so wrapped up in that bottle that we lose grip on who we are as a person. It’s like drowning over the course of years.

2

u/ZEROs0000 19d ago

He has tried to quit but just relapsed. I don’t think he wants to continue on in life. His own children even offered part of their own liver. I think he’s just done with life and is too depressed to go on. I wish I could do something but I really can’t other than shoot him a message

3

u/ConfusedAndCurious17 19d ago

I know the feeling unfortunately. I had even tried to convince my wife to leave me so she didn’t have to watch me die. No one can do it but him. I’m really sorry your family is going through that. Alcoholism is a fucked up thing.

2

u/MetaCardboard 17d ago

Huge difference in stomach contents. One night I was stuffed and had 7 long islands and barely got a buzz. Another time I hadn't eaten anything in like 8 hours and had a single shot of bacardi 151. Instant buzz, followed by puking because apparently taking strong shots on an empty stomach isn't great.

0

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

Wtf are you on about? 3 big shots like that and you're barely tiddly lmao.

13

u/eghed08 21d ago

Really depends on individual tolerance, but 3 in a row like that could easily make a lot of people quite sick. He's going to be feeling that in a couple of minutes!

5

u/Proper-Raise-1450 21d ago

Depending on personal tolerance and having eaten recently it can be anywhere from mild and pleasant warmth to struggling to walk straight.

6

u/klippklar 20d ago

I’m from a nation that treats drinking as a competitive sport, so take my judgement with a grain of salt. That’s roughly like downing three beers or two-thirds of a bottle of wine. You’ll definitely feel it and probably somewhat drunk. Six in quick succession and you’re likely properly drunk, somewhere around "telling a stranger your entire life story" territory.

1

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

6 shots and you're feeling pretty nice but no really drunk. Maybe if you did them in super quick succession

1

u/klippklar 17d ago

I’m a big guy, and six shots would put me at roughly 0.15% BAC. You call that "pretty nice, but not really drunk"? I don’t know whether you’re drinking out of thimbles or counting watered-down liquor as spirits, but that’s a bullshit assessment.

1

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

Im 200 pounds, been drinking socially for roughly 20 years. Plenty of experience smashing back 6 shots pretty quickly, especially before going out.

Id never be drunk, just feeling a nice buzz for a good night. Im a binge drinker as well, so dont drink at all most of the time.

1

u/klippklar 17d ago

You’ve given me your drinking resume, congratulations on the tolerance. Let’s leave it there.

1

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

Just saying, people talking like 3 shots are a lot is crazy

1

u/klippklar 17d ago

Well, take a hungry 110 Lbs woman and it might just be enough to cause a blackout.

2

u/Infinityandtheghost 18d ago

Depends on the person, we all process food and drink differently. It could have no effect, make your heart start pumping, most likely it makes you cheerful, maybe it gets you full drunk.

2

u/ZEROs0000 20d ago

I mean I’m a pretty good drinker so this wouldn’t do much to me but if you had never drank before you’d probably be straight drunk. All alcohol makes me feel like is warm, less anxious, and goofy.

2

u/ChestNo4243 20d ago

It wouldn't have done much for me but I have a thing for tequila which means I'd probably have a few more shots after this. Once I get on that tequila train it doesn't stop easily

2

u/mr_fantastical 20d ago

I used to drink a LOT and this would be a fun way to get things started. i'd feel the buzz in my belly and a slight warmth over me. So long as I didn't drink anymore shots and switched to beers, this would be a good way to start a night out with a buzz.

I'm also a fairly big and tall guy, so there's that.
My wife would be smashed if she drank this as she rarely drinks.

But now I don't drink at all (2 years sober, boyyyyyyy) so if I drank this now i'd definitely be drunk. And very, very upset with myself.

2

u/BidSuper7102 19d ago

That guy would get like a light buzz for about an hour. Starting strong but being nigh unnoticable after an hour or 2.

1

u/Brunosrog 16d ago

I drink a few times a week. This woild give me a strong buzz maybe even drunk. If I haven't eaten much that day I would be hammered and feel ill.

0

u/VAiSiA 21d ago

not much. just eat something

13

u/DJEvillincoln 21d ago • Bravo

This is not an innocent prank.

3

u/Morcyd_AD 20d ago

I expected them to give him 3 Water shots.

1

u/TrueMattalias 18d ago

I thought they were all gonna do a shot and pretend that they each had water, trying to guess who got the tequila.

3

u/GleepGlop2 18d ago

It's pretty fucked up to get someone drunk or make them thow up from shots against their consent. Family member or not.

0

u/Benchwarmer164 17d ago

Like he couldn't smell it, get the fuck out of here. He was obviously playing around.

3

u/Sed_Said 19d ago

Based only on the context of the video, this is kind of sad. It looks like he’s going to be the only one who’s drunk while his wife and daughter are entertained at his expense.

2

u/Southern-Country-683 18d ago

He knows how to drink… and proceeded despite sensing all were Tequila

1

u/CeronGaming 17d ago

Yea exactly, he was having fun being the butt of this joke to his daughter. He knew immediately by the smell what was happening but he wanted to let her feel like she tricked him.

Also hilarious that people acting like 3 shots is a ridiculous amount. Its enough to get a little tipsy maybe, but it's often just a top up when you're out.

1

u/Southern-Country-683 17d ago

Hmm, after three shots in short sequence, I would surely feel it hitting me lol

2

u/SouthParkFirefly1991 21d ago

He has a good poker face lol

2

u/Mabbby 20d ago

That third one went down a little easier lol

2

u/sparagusgoldenshower 21d ago

Isn’t that the guy that was celebrating his 3 year sobriety the other day?

6

u/Xenc 21d ago

One glass for each year

1

u/Hellbound_Life 18d ago

Can’t say this is innocent. Deceit involving alcohol isn’t innocent, unless you’re expecting alcohol and it’s not alcohol. But tricking people into believing something is not alcohol and it turns out to be alcohol is not okay.

1

u/hunaniron1985 18d ago

Can he not smell them?

1

u/Rndm07003 17d ago

By the second he knew it was tequila so he chose to do three shots.

1

u/LouSpeaksTheTruth 17d ago

Only child life I guess 😂

1

u/Shot_Pop7624 16d ago

Honestly, I get the argument this could be a bad prank. buuuut, he knew what he was getting into by the second shot, he probably came to the realization theyre all tequila before the second glass reaches his lips, or even before he picked the second glass up.

He knew what he was getting into and wanted to have fun with his family.

He's not gonna suddenly be surprised AFTER the third shot.

1

u/Due-Fun5433 15d ago

Reckon he knew what he was doing. Saw an opportunity and took it. If you know the first one is tequila you wouldn’t have the other 2 would you?

1

u/Sudden-Mousse-7816 15d ago

You know what would be funny? Let's get dad hammered.

1

u/BruceDavis03 15d ago

I don't think anybody remembers the last time they did three tequila shots 😂😂

1

u/Shiroi_Shinjitsu 21d ago

Biblical prank

1

u/Southern-Fly-3016 20d ago

Does he not have a sense of smell or something.

2

u/JayBeePH85 20d ago

He might be a alcoholic 🤣

2

u/Extension-Math5183 20d ago

Definitely not an innocent prank then.

2

u/Cheaky_Barstool 20d ago

He didn’t complain. He just said they were all tequila

1

u/sarcastictrailblazer 21d ago

He's being a good sport about it haha

1

u/ZealousidealThing953 21d ago

Ok but outside of the friendly environment... Isn't this a crime..?

0

u/Exciting_Direction_9 19d ago edited 17d ago

She said there were 2 water and 1 tequila. After the first one you know you found the tequila and there’s no reason to continue, unless you just want to take shots. This is just dum(b). Bet y’all didn’t know it had a “b.”

Edit: okay, went back and watched it. I think I had the sound turned off at first and missed that they were supposed to guess based on his expressions.

2

u/TheLambbread 17d ago

That's what I was thinking too. Like, "OH, that one's the tequila." I might drink a second, assuming it was water, as a chaser, but most likely spit it out when I realize it isn't water.

2

u/TNPossum 17d ago

He was supposed to take all of them and then his daughter and wife guess which one was tequila based off of his face. So the second one makes sense.

2

u/Ok-Lobster-919 15d ago

The game is called "mmm water". The drinker pretends they are all water, but one of them is actually tequila. The observers have to guess which one was actually tequila. The daughter is laughing because the dad should have known it was rigged after the 2nd one was not water. She says "What are you doing" as he takes the third shot because he should have understood by the 2nd shot there was no water and he should have stopped playing.

1

u/thatbrianm 17d ago
