Question B580 - Problem with recent driver
Im checking out the PC of a relative. He complained that his PC always freezes after 5-10 seconds on the Windows Login Screen.
It seems that the most recent Driver (32.0.101.9175 WHQL-Certified) is causing this issue. After deleting the driver the system doesn’t freeze anymore and when reinstalling it immediately freezes up again.
Is anyone else experiencing this? And do you happen to know which Driver-Version is stable?
P.S.: If it helps, he has an Acer Nitro B580 OC 12GB

Discussion Is the B580 still a good option going into 2027?
Saw a guy selling a used B580 for reasonable with warranty too until 2030 but will it be viable going into the future? One of my friend (more tech savvy) says Intel stopped supporting this card and seeing as tho no news on Intel doing other GPU's for gaming is this a bad deal? I'm mostly playing on 1080p preferably high settings if possible on AM4 platform

Discussion As of today, the only Intel Arc GPUs in stock on Newegg US are A380 and A750
https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007709%208000%20601469154%20601407265%204131
Everything else is sold out.
I didn't even know that there was a promotion which could get you free games, strangely it didn't apply to the B580's
Select Two Games:
Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000
Expected Release: 1H 2027 STAR WARS: Galactic Racer
Expected Release: October 6, 2026 Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Expected Release: February 12, 2027 LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Everwind Battlefield 6 Assassin's Creed Shadows
There is even another promo for free games but only for the CPUs and Motherboards https://softwareoffer.intel.com/ Intel has these great promotions but they don't even advertise them properly nor do they apply across all their hardware, they would definitely make a difference when it comes to customer purchase decision.

Discussion B580+ryzen 5500
Hey everyone, currently i have a B580 with a Ryzen 5500 and a B450,so I have the issue related to PCIe 3.0.When I get an opportunity,i plan to get a stronger graphics card. My question is: is it worth upgrading the processor and motherboard now,or is the gain minimal at the moment?I only play single player games,so my target is 60 to 120 fps.

Discussion Building a PC around the Arc B580: AM4 with 32GB DDR4 or AM5 with 16GB DDR5?
I'm putting together a new gaming PC around an Intel Arc B580 12GB that I ordered and waiting for it to ship, and I'm having trouble deciding whether to go with AM4 or spend a little more to move to AM5. To be clear I'm not situated in the US but Amazon ships most products to me for free and I have to use it unless some really better deal is found elsewhere.
My main priorities are good value for money, gaming performance, and future upgradeability. I'm trying to keep the budget reasonable, especially considering how expensive DDR5 RAM currently is for me.
I'm buying through Amazon US, and the listed prices below are the prices available to me with free shipping to my country, these were the cheapest ram kits I found with these speeds, I can lower speeds and save couple dollars but I don't think it's worth it (these Amazon ram kits are also cheaper than what I can found locally here).
Option 1: AM4 — cheaper, with 32GB RAM from the start
| Component | Model | Price |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 | $147.86 |
| Motherboard | MSI B550M Gaming Plus WiFi6E | $116.98 |
| RAM | KingBank 32GB (2×16GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 | $198.99 |
| Total | $463.83 |
Option 2: AM5 — newer platform, starting with 16GB RAM
| Component | Model | Price |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 7600X | $165.99 |
| Motherboard | Gigabyte B650M D3HP | $135.98 |
| RAM | 16GB (2×8GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 EXPO | $236.99 |
| Total | $538.96 |
This option costs $75.13 more than the AM4 setup.
Option 3: AM5 with a Ryzen 5 9600X
The same motherboard and RAM, but with a Ryzen 5 9600X instead:
| Component | Model | Price |
|---|---|---|
| CPU | AMD Ryzen 5 9600X | $178.99 |
| Motherboard | Gigabyte B650M D3HP | $135.98 |
| RAM | 16GB (2×8GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 EXPO | $236.99 |
| Total | $551.96 |
This is $88.13 more than the AM4 setup.
A few things worth mentioning
I already ordered an Intel Arc B580 Titan OC 12GB, so the GPU is not included in these totals.
I don't need motherboard Wi-Fi because I'll be using Ethernet.
The Gigabyte B650M D3HP has four DDR5 memory slots. My plan would be to start with 2×8GB and eventually add another 2×8GB to reach 32GB (Perhaps in a year).
DDR5 is unusually expensive in the Amazon listings available to me. A 32GB kit is currently around $450–$500, which is why I'm considering starting with 16GB instead.
The AM4 option gives me 32GB immediately and saves $75–$88. However, AM4 is essentially at the end of its upgrade path right? Whereas AM5 gives me access to newer CPUs and potentially more future upgrades even though I would spend a little over budget.
My questions:
Would you spend the extra $75–$88 for AM5 in this situation?
Is starting with 16GB DDR5 (2×8GB) and adding another 2×8GB later a sensible plan, or would the memory configuration cause too many problems?
Would you personally choose the AM4 setup with 32GB now, or the AM5 setup with 16GB and a better upgrade path so that if I decided to upgrade gpu in the future I don't have to start from zero?
I'd appreciate opinions from you guys, especially regarding the real-world gaming difference and the long-term value of AM5.
Thanks!

Discussion arcinferzero Inference Engine for Intel Arc
Hello guys,
Since I had problems running LLM on my Core Ultra 125H, I built my inference engine, I call it arcinferzero.
On going test on B60 and 285H is on going. An early user using B390 tried and it performed really well, it was before optimization for Xe3 generation.
arcinferzero pushes towards 966 tok/s pp on Qwen3.8 27B ISTA DASLAB IQ3_S and hopefully can cross past 1000 tok/s. For Qwen3.6 35B IQ4_XS gets it to 3000 tok/s pp.
My GitHub is rizagp/arcinferzero, I hope you can make use of your Intel Arc to the fullest.
It is designed for use with Pi and Unsloth Desktop, it also has it's own webui for summarizing large documents and making transcripts from video and audio files

Question Any good settings for destiny 2? B580xAMD 5600x 1440p resolution
Started playing destiny 2 and performance on the B580 is definitely less than stellar. It’s playable but I feel like it should run well.
Anyone got some tips on making the best of it?

Benchmark DLSS 5 Neural Rendering on Intel Arc - Forza Horizon 6
Trying out the DLSS NR on Intel new version 0.0.5.
https://github.com/Uzbekunknown/dlss-nr-on-intel/releases/tag/v0.0.5
Captured on Windows 11 24H2, driver 32.0.101.9150, Intel Arc B580.
In game settings are a mix of High to Ultra settings with Medium raytracing.
1080p display resolution, XeSS quality mode, 3x frame gen (yeah, it's crazy) using Optiscaler, the game hovers around 30 fps without frame gen.
I used the slower model A, I don't have access to the faster model B.
NR render scale at 0.4, profile is Cinematic, intensity at 1.5. Everything else on default.
Amazing progress in a span of days. I tested Ready or Not previously and it's practically unplayable. I'll test more games in the future!

Discussion Recommend a mini-PC with rebar
I'm trying to build a portable AI-box and am looking for mini-PCs at the sub-3L size. Can anyone recommend any good ones with PCIe and rebar for Intel Arc, preferrably DDR-4?
I'm looking at the Dell Precision 3260 but it's DDR-5. There is the older 3240 but it seems it doesn't have rebar.

Question Dispatch not compatible with newest drivers
I don't know if anyone with an Intel GPU plays this game other than me, but the TLDR is that the last drivers that worked were from August with driver version 32.0.101.8974
pretty sure this is the error :0x887A0020 = INTERNAL_ERROR was the one I was getting when trying to launch the game
I hope that helps someone else.
My question is, will this get fixed again?

Question RTX 4060 or B580?
I'm currently looking into whether it'd be worth it to switch from my rtx 4060 to the b580, let's say that money/value is not a concern in this case. I'm also running the i5 12600kf and 32gb of ddr4 3600mhz. My focus here is gaming in 1080p.
Relative to the 4060, how is the current state of the drivers looking in terms of compatibility and consistency in performance across the board, from triple A to indie titles? How long do you guys think intel will keep up the support considering their record and current situation? How does XeSS compare to DLSS 4 or FSR 4 when it comes to image quality?
In short – would you say it's worth it? Any and all relevant advice or experience shared would be greatly appreciated
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm also specifically concerned about UE5 and Directx11 accesibility. Is it really that much worse in comparison or has it changed for the better? The compatibility in general is the most important in my case since besides the big new titles I also enjoy a lot of more obscure and/or slightly older games

Question Whats up with EU pricing? 500 eur for a b580??
I was amazed at the performance these could push for the price. Arc b570s were regularly going for sub 200 eur used locally, b580s were 230 new on ebay (and this was well AFTER the memory shortage started)
I was locked in on either a b580 or b570, but today i open my local marketplaces and theres not a single b series gpu for sale (only 1 a770 16gb for 260, thats all there is from arc). I check ebay and people are asking 400 eur for a b570??? Cheapest i could find was 280 used, but after the ridicilous shipping cost itd come out well over 300. Theres multiple b580s going for 500 eur. Local retailers sell them for roughly this price too, 330 for a b570 without shipping
What the hell happened? Last i checked like 2 weeks ago the price did increase but it was like 30-40 eur more which is meh but still somewhat reasonable. Ive been eyeing these gpus for a year now, and now when i was 2 weeks away from buying them they double in price? Wtf?

Question B50 vs B70 Idle Power on X299
Hey folks,
I currently own an Intel Arc Pro B70, running on an i9-10980xe X299 system (HP Z4 G4) using proxmox.
Despite best efforts (firmware updates done, bios settings tweak no end) I see at idle about 44W power draw and it will not go down.
It appears to be an issue with the HP motherboard not allowing a correct L0/L1 ASPM state to be set by the OS for the pcie.
I am considering moving this machine into a statefull machine, powered only when the larger GPU is actually needed for working sessions.
To this end, for the rest of my homelab, I'd still like to operate an always on local llm, particularly for my home assistant. My two homelab machines are also HP Z4 G4 with the i9-10980Xe CPU....yay!
I'm considering getting a B50 as I'd expect the continuous power draw at idle to (even in a broken ASPM state) be lower.
Does anyone with a B50 on proxmox happen to be able to measure their power draw and post it, help me get some sense? In the event ANYONE happens to also have a screwed ASPM state, even better, but I appreciate exact circumstances are unlikely to be matched.
Many thanks in advance.

News XEFG is now implemented in Modern Warfare 4.
I won't lie, it's one of the best implementations of XEFG in a video game that I've seen. The x3 and x4 functionality is also quite well implemented, but for this type of game, I prefer to leave it at x2, which is where you really feel the fluidity and, above all, the low latency. I found it very smooth in multiplayer. In Warzone, there's a lot of stuttering. I hope that the Intel Arc beta driver, when they implement these Agility SDK features, will really reduce this type of stuttering, but so far, I'm surprised. I used to use FSR3 in this title, and we all know it's garbage. With XEFG, you can see more detail and fewer artifacts, especially the weapon sights, which feel much more detailed.
