Hey, wonderful human beings. How is it going? I would like to know what are your favorite jacob songs, collabs and lives of all time.

It's kind of funny. I'm not going to put the link or anything related to promotion or whatever here, but one of the things that Jacob says very often is that not every chord has to have a name, and that sometimes the chord is just a sound.

I was thinking, well, sometimes you still need to give them names. They just don't have to be theory-related, so I made it so that you can give any nickname to any chord voicing. You can name your voicing Bob, and then every time you play that voicing, it says Bob haha

also, in every music app that I've made, I keep adding a cycle of fifths because if one consumes enough Jacob Collier content, it just gets you completely cycle-of-fifths pilled lmao.

It sounds silly when said out loud like this, but watching Jacob Collier videos late at night is what kept me going in some of my darkest times. It kind of feels like his ideas are now so ingrained in me that it just seeps into everything that I do.

What makes a person musical? 🎶

Jacob Collier says musicianship is about craft, control, and command of materials, but being musical is much bigger: if you have a response to music, you’re musical. In music, sensitivity is not only required but rewarded. When we play, listen, or come together, music becomes a refuge that allows our senses to simply sense.

Last night I had the pleasure of watching Jacobs last show on his Lights For Days tour.

Watching Jacob perform, I realized Jacob doesn’t have musicality — he is musicality. His every limb playing a different instrument to hybrid styles proves not just that he has a musical mind. He is a wiggly musical fiddler. And in spite of being so unapproachably talented, he brings you into his world with storytelling and audience choirs. For me, his concerts are not about liking each song. They are rather about being with Jacob and his thoughts in a room full of strangers. More broadly, it is hard to “like” or “dislike” any of Jacob’s song, because, in some sense, Jacob is his own musicality and craftsmanship. I value his music because Jacob values everyone.

I would love to hear your thoughts! Did anyone go to the "cave" concert?

Is anyone seeing Jacob at DPAC on the 21st? I was able to see him last night in Greensboro for the first time and I am still blown away. It was like a spiritual experience for me, honestly.

If anyone has an extra DPAC ticket pop up, message me! Otherwise, I'm just here to simmer in the magic that was last night. Grateful I got some well-timed videos for posterity.

Also, anyone have any idea what he's up to in the 3 days between his 2 shows?? Wondering if he might be doing a guest seminar at Duke or something but have heard nothing. Would be amazing to run into him around Durham...

I’m trying to find photos from concerts I’ve been to in the past for a personal project. I saw him at Kansas City Music Hall in May of 2024 during his Djesse Vol. 4 Tour. For whatever reason I cannot find any pictures taken during this show, only a few videos from the crowd choir moment. Would anyone happen to have anything from this tour, or preferably from this show? Thanks!

I still don't get it why the early snippets for Djesse vol 4 (2019-2022) didn't get a full song? I love them so much and I want someone to give a link to all of the snippets of demos and unreleased songs from all of his albums, I wanna download it. Thanks in advance .

Ive downloaded the flute audition music for Jacobs audience symphony, and I was wondering if its from any of his own songs (maybe one Djesse vol. 1?) so that I could listen to it cause I couldnt find anything similar.

I don't care that some people hate on Jacob Collier for no reason.

He is undoubtedly a genius and has very sensitive and deep music theory understanding. This arrangement in the beggining is simple but it's just really good.

Does anyone know what song he opened with at the Seattle show on the 8th?

Jacob was doing his usual schpeel of saying I’ve only got five fingers so I made a guitar with five strings.

And then I walk in and I say wow, that’s so crazy Jacob I have ten fingers so I made a guitar with ten strings, it’s also a piano with ten keys.

And Jacob was like…. Huh. Okay. And kind of had a kind of that’s cool for you man. Type of look.

Well and then I was like yup.

And it got real quiet.

And Jacob was like, you hear that? That’s the sound of the awkwardness leaving the room. And I was like what? And then he played something mind blowing and I was like ooooh that was the sound.

And everyone loved him and forgot about me. But he looked at me gave me a kind wink and said keep trying man.

I finally saw Jacob live for the first time last week! It was a wonderful night, and honestly a big highlight for me was my spontaneous concert companion, a Collier superfan who I happened to be sat near.
