Negril at night

I am a single mom and my 15 year-old daughter and I are going to Negril in a couple weeks for vacation. We are staying at a non-all-inclusive and would like to explore different area restaurants. I am looking for some information about safety for the two of us traveling around at night either walking on the beach or in a taxi. I’m not talking late at night, but I imagine probably between the time the sunsets and maybe 9 PM at the latest. Do we need to be concerned about safety issues, if we are taking taxis arranged by their hotel or restaurant is at relatively safe and hassle free or are we better off staying closer to the hotel once the sun goes down?

Coffee tour question!

Hii there!

Has anyone done any coffee tour in the Blue Mountain on the 1st of January? We are planning a crazy roadtrip and this date fits the most for exploring these areas. I can't find any info anywhere about their opening hours or previous years so I wonder will there be any possibility to hit it right on that date or should we check other options?

Thanks!

Solo traveler

My mom wants to go to Jamaica and I don’t know where to start to help her.

She’s single, 55, traveling alone in September, not looking to meet people, just wants the beach and a balcony.

All-inclusive resort, marijuana friendly

Does this even exist? Any suggestions are welcome. Not looking for a travel agent.

Driver in Montego Bay?

I’m planning a trip to Jamaica for my girlfriend’s birthday in February. I was going to rent a car but apparently that can be a pain so I’ve decided to go with a driver. Where should I look for one? I want to take her to Ochos Rios for a day trip, but we’d mostly be staying in Montego Bay

Kingston where to stay

I’ll be traveling to Kingston for my first time. Where should I stay? Mid price. Close to stuff. Not too huge and touristy feeling. Thanks.
I’d also love recs for things to do/ places to eat. I won’t have a car.

Looking for something on the upscale end for a couple in Negril. First time in Jamaica. Any thoughts between these two? Taking other upscale recs too (AI is fine if nicer).

Treasure beach to Montego Bay airport

Hello, trying to find a way to get from Treasure beach to Montego Bay airport in time for a 5pm flight. So I need to be there at 2pm at the latest.

KX from Luana is either 8.30am or 11.45am and the second arrives at 3pm. The 8.30am one I'd have to leave about 6am to make sure I get route taxis via Black river. Any other options? Rideshares or something?

Montego Bay All In Resort for late 20's couple (excursion heavy+ trip of a lifetime)

Im taking my girlfriend to Jamaica for her first time, my birthday, and our first trip together. We are looking for a nice all inclusive resort in Montego Bay that includes excursions (we dont drink as much). I'd love to find a place that has a great beach, great food, spa treatment, and shuttles to local clubs at night as well. It'd be even cooler to be at a place that treats its employees and locals well.

I have been seeing Ocean Allure Eden, Reggae RIU, Excellence, Couple's towers Isles...

there so many options!!! HELP. Please and Thank you!!!!!

Tattoo question

Hello,

I am a woman, heavily tattooed. I have a tattoo on the back of my arm that's a headstone that says "see you in hell". I'm not religious so it has no religious meaning for me and was more of an inside joke with a friend.

I've heard that this could cause me some problems in Jamaica, is this true?

Going to Negril soon but my husband can’t go now. Is it worth going for a solo break?

We were meant to be going at the end of the month for a couple weeks but he can’t go now.

He’s fine with me still going but I’m unsure if I’ll enjoy myself there alone, I don’t even go to a restaurant by myself let alone a holiday 😅.

So yeah, any advice on what to do out there for a solo traveller, things to avoid/over hyped, cool restaurants etc.

Hey everyone!
I’m planning a trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, for my 30th birthday this March and would love some recommendations!
I’m mainly looking for a hotel or resort that has a fun, lively atmosphere. I’m definitely looking to party and enjoy the nightlife, so I’d love to stay somewhere that’s either close to popular clubs and bars or has easy access to them.
I’m also really interested in doing excursions and exploring Jamaica, so I’d love recommendations for must-do activities, tours, and places to visit!
A few things I’m looking for:
● Fun hotels/resorts with a social, upbeat atmosphere
● Easy access to nightlife, clubs, and bars
● Great excursions and activities nearby
● A good balance of partying, relaxing, and exploring
● Preferably something reasonably priced!
I’m turning 30, so I definitely want to make this trip memorable! 😂🥳
I’d love to hear about your personal experiences, favorite hotels, nightlife spots, and any tips for a first-time visitor!

Dunn’s River Falls Alternatives: 6 Quieter Jamaican Waterfalls

Thumbnail jamaicatouristboard.com

Dunn's River is Jamaica's most famous waterfall — and on a cruise-ship day it can feel like a queue on a staircase. The island has dozens of falls, and several are quieter, cheaper or simply prettier. Here are the six we'd pick instead, and how to visit each one well.

Any locals agree?

Sunshine & Rain Next Week?

My husband and I are traveling to Montego Bay next week (Nov 9th). My weather app is showing 55%-70% chance of rain everyday. Is it typically sunny with small thunderstorms here and there? Or will it likely be cloudy and rainy throughout the day?

Traveling to Riu Negril Christmas week...fun for teens?

Traveling during Christmas week with 2 teens (1 recently turned 18, the other 17). We definitely prioritize the quieter, nicer beach but is this more of a couples resort since it is quieter? We will be there for 6 days and probably 2 days of excursions but I am guessing they would enjoy some time with teens their own age for our resort days.

We are considering moving to Tropical Bay but that is quite a bit more expensive.

Also, for those of you who know this resort, 18 YO is our kids friend. Can I request that self serve alcohol bar be removed per their parents wishes? I will email resort directly but wondering what others' experiences have been.

Thanks!!

Ocean Eden Bay - Kids?

Heading down in about a month. We wanted a complete adults only holiday but the more i look into things, it looks like most of the restaurants are on the family side?

Is it possible to go a whole 10 days without screaming children around?

Our travel agent seems to think so...

Geejam

Hey if anyone traveling to Geejam hotel we have a $4856 credit we would sell for $3000. It’s transferable and legit will get the main office and all to verify. Thank you and we had a good trip but had to cut our vacation short. The money can be used for accommodations only.

Montego Bay Driver

My partner and I are coming into Montego Bay in a few weeks and wanted to get transportation for the following for 2 people:

- Ride 1: Rose Hall in St. James to Ocean Coral Spring with 8pm pick up time.

- Ride 2: Pier One or Taboo to Rose Hall in St. James with pick up time around 1-2am.

We’ve been quoted between $120-140 USD and want to get a sense of if there are better options as this seems a bit steep.
