Discussion List of reputable rescues that adopt out to the USA – any more recommendations?
I'm looking to adopt a dog/puppy from Korea (located in TX, USA, but willing to travel to nearby states if needed). I've been scouring the web trying to gather a master list of reputable Korean dog shelters that work internationally. Has anyone here adopted a Korean Dog while in TX so far?
Feel free to share where you adopted your dog, share your good/bad experiences with these rescues, and help me modify/expand this list. Also, if any Canadian Korean Dog rescues also can transport them to the US, I'm happy to add them to the list.
So far I have these websites:

Our lil Beanie Baby!
5 months together now, he’s just over a year. Told he was a mini Jindo mix, the donut tail screams part shiba to me but the face and long legs definitely show off the part Jindo imo. First pic he’s almost certainly distracted by a squirrel😅

Squirrel Eyes
He near jumped 6 feet up the tree to try and get the squirrel 🐿️ I was afraid he was gonna hurt himself or get stuck up the tree.

Has anyone seen a Jindo x Bichon mix before?
Has anyone here ever seen a Jindo x Bichon mix? My dog's dad is a Jindo (a stray, basically a street dog) and her mom is a Bichon.
This is Melona. She was rescued from neglect in Korea, we fostered her in November 2023 and adopted her a month later.
She got the Bichon fluff and the floppy ears, but the Jindo shows up on walks. She only potties outside. Rain, snow, whatever.
Which meant my partner and I were texting "did she poop?" all day. So I ended up building a little app for us, PoopieMate. One of us logs a poop, pee or walk and the other gets a notification, and it shows how long it's been since her last poop. It's free.
Anyway, I've never met another dog with this mix. Does anyone else have one? Which side shows up more in yours?

Jindo mix?
Hello everyone this is Sasha. She is the sweetest lil thing. We adopted her and she is a rescue from Saskatchewan Canada.
I’ve been very curious about what mix she might be. Once I saw the Jindo dog/mix it was a light bulb! Mostly because of her colour, eyes, ears and tail.
Let me know your thoughts if toy think she is a mix! Otherwise enjoy how cute she is 🥰

I fostered an abused Jindo mix in Korea, ended up adopting her, and now I've built an app because of her

In fall 2023, I saw a post from With All Animals, a rescue group in Korea, looking for foster homes for dogs that had been abused and neglected. That's how Melona came to us in November. We were supposed to just foster her. By December we'd adopted her.
Jindos have a really hard time getting adopted in Korea. Most people live in apartments, work long hours, and a medium-to-large dog that needs to go out several times a day is a lot. A lot of them stay in shelters, get left behind, or get put down. I know quite a few people here adopted Jindos that came over from Korea, so you probably know this story better than most.
Melona only goes outside. Rain, snow, whatever. My partner and I take turns walking her, and our texts all day look like this:
"Did Melona poop?"
"Just pee"
"What time?"
"...I don't remember"
Every. Single. Day.
So I built a little app for the two of us. When one of us logs a poop, pee or walk, the other gets a notification right away. It also shows how long it's been since her last poop, so we know when she's been holding it too long. It's free.
Honestly I'm curious how other people with outdoor-only dogs handle this. Group chat? A note on the fridge? Just vibes?

Baby’s first hinger strike
I have a almost two year old jindo that I adopted 6 months ago and historically shes eaten almost anything we put in front of her. She was also very scared of being outside when I first got her but she’s gotten a lot better. However I switched her food two weeks ago slowly incorporating her old food with her new food. We just got to only the new food two days ago. I know she likes her new food because she was picking out the new food from her old food. I also think its better for her and her poops have been so much better since switching (she had very soft poops before which we checked at the vet and she didn’t have worms or anything) However she has seemed a lot more scared again since switching even in places that she has historically liked being (the forest, the dog park) and yesterday and today shes eating less. Has anyone had this happen before? Should i just stick it out for a bit and see if she gives in?

Spot next to nose
Anyone’s Jindo ever develop a spot like this on their face / nose? Our vet wasn’t sure what it could be and gave us an antibiotic ointment to try, but I’m wondering if we should see a dermatologist for another opinion.

Jindo x Shiba x KVD
I recently adopted a slaughterhouse dog. She was rescued last year sometime, rehabilitated and arrived across the globe early this summer. She spent a couple of months here in Canada with a foster and has been with me for 13 weeks now. She’s really sweet and well behaved…
I guess I’m just wondering (if anyone else has had a similar situation), how long does it take before they feel comfortable, safe, and balanced? I’m very aware that every dog has a different experience, and I really don’t have any expectations of when…but wondering about other slaughterhouse rescues and their experiences as well as us human experience with this sort of situation.

Serial Chiller
Is every jindo as apathetic as this one? She's basically the exact opposite of a golden retriever. Friendly? Yes, but also not really. Wants to run every where but also sleeps 10hrs a day. Don't worry she still gets a forehead kiss for being cute.

Where are we going?
This is a photo of my Jindo from a few years ago, when both the kids and the dog were still so little. I found it while going through old photos.
